I ordered, received, and hooked up our new CD Recorder in our Church Sound System and the first attempt to make a live recording of our service was outstanding. The unit is very user friendly and performed extremely well. We love it and it will fill a ministry need for our Church family. Thanks, Vanns folks.

This unit was purchased to replace a failed cassette recorder player. It far exceeded our expectations! Recording you need to read the manual as far as inputs and settings, but playback,WOW! The first Sunday we loaded IL Divo and played Amazing Grace, and people stopped in their tracks to listen! The audio is fantastic even in our little country church!

was very simple to hook up to receiver. required 1 less cord than previous cdr by harmon kardon. simple to use however instructions do not specify when beginning to record that you must depress play button on both the cd play sidesource as well as cdr siderecord. resulted in some wasted space on first couple of cds until i figured it out. using remote to program random tracks somewhat unclear. experiment first before hitting that play button. sound reproduction great. am enjoying system and making dics for friends. would rate 4.5 out of 5...

I like this CDPlayerrecorder It was relatively easy to learn to use. I have just recorded my first CD on it. The manual could be a little more of a step by step process in the start to actual recording accomplishment. Finalyze could be more explicit as to when stop means. Before or after the recording process.
However,it is a very good product. I am pleased with it.

After fighting for too long with a KLH CD recorder, I am pleased with the Sony. It is much quieter, easier to navigate, and has functions that, well...function. So far I am no longer turning CDRs into coasters because the machine hits a glitch during the Finalizing of CDRs, making them useless. The Sony is a breeze. With its Optical input, I am able to record my own music, as well as vinyl, using a Boss digital studio with Optical out. The Sony also allows me to compare the Optical signal to Analog, and with some vinyl, the Analog has more warmth and wider sound stage, not so canned. It also allows me to Unfinalize CDRs so that I can edit out or in different parts. The Sony RCD-W500C has many other useful functions that make recording enjoyable again!

As a music freak and electronic lover, I was very pleased with the quality of the merchandise I received. Although I have not used the recorder much do to my busy schedule, I'm very satisfied with the results I've gotten the few times that I have used it. This recorder has proved to be very convenient, Compared to the others I've used in the past. It's very easy to use and time consuming, which is a plus this days. I'm exited about the unit and can't wait to buy some time and start making CDs...In addition, I have to complement Vanns.com for the shipping of the merchandise since the delivery was done in such a timely and secure fashion that It made me consider ordering other electronic devices in the near future.

This cd recorder-player is fairly easy to use once you get past the owners manual. This is my first experience recording cd's. I have recorded cassette's in years past but this is a much easier task. I wasn't sure if I would be able to record from my 30 year old Bang & Olufsen Beogram 1900 turntable but I had absolutely no problem. I bought this Sony mainly to record my vast collection of vinyl records so I could be able to listen to hard to find music again. Although I have only recorded a few albums so far,I feel this machine will serve me very well. I purchased it online from Vann's and received it quicker than I thought I would. I will definitely make more purchases from this company and would recommend them to anyone else interested in getting a good buy. The free shipping and no sales tax was a huge incentive in ordering this product. I saved enough to buy at least 60 blank music cd-r's with jewel cases.

Absolutely a great product. Brand new out of the box, and not only was it exactly as both advertised but also as explained by your wonderful support personnel. It does what you promised. It's easy to learn to use. Fabulous quality reporductions of my live radio program broadcasts.
I simply input a live program feed of my program, finalize it, then burn a copy to give to my on-air guests within minutes of the program's completion.
Best of all, your price was $50.00 below the best price on eBay, and at least that amount below anywhere else I was able to find the product.
Thanks for exceeding epectations in every area.

I love the cd burner player made by sony . You cant just open the box, plug it in and record. You need to read the directions, take the time to get familiar with the recorder, step by step get used to the machine . Once you understand it, youll really enjoy it. I have burnt many cds from my old albums and tapes. I got great copies and did not screw up any cds. I used one cd for a test and experiminted with that. I loved that way the recorder records and also plays the cds. Just take your time and youll really enjoy hearing your old music again with new technology. This is what I wanted and I got to have it at the right price. Ray form Munhall pa

I find that the Sony RCD-W500C does exactly what I
needed, and almost everything I want. The manual
isn't the best, but read through it and then just
try things out. I record on this unit, and then
use PC software to edit the audio and tracks as
needed. I find that the front panel markings aren't
the easiest to read just add extra light, and I
wish it had a built-in timer to start recordings
add a super-remote?. My first attempt at
recording was a keeper.
It's a good value.

Very fine piece of equipment for the money. Had a bit of trouble with B deck but that was quickly taken care of. Great for analog to Digital recording, i.e. recording vinyl onto CD. Instructions are as comprehensive and understandable as possible. However, if you are at an idiot's level concerning home electronics, you may require a little assistance from someone who is more knowledgeable. DO NOT use to copy DAT onto CD this is the problem of the DAT unit and the internal electronics associated with it, not the CD recorder. Dubbing CD's is a cinch. Sony makes a quality consumer level unit. Will purchase Sony equipment again.

I own a Sony RCD-W50CW10. It will be the last sony product I'll ever buy. The instructions are poorly written, and recording is nothing short of a trial by fire.
I am a musician and I record my own music for my students. For many years this meant using a simple cassette player recorder. About 10 yrs. ago I purchased a Sony dat deck to record my master tape. A yr. ago I purchased the Sony CD recorder. I recorded my music onto the dat deck. I then tried to use the optical 'out' into the optical 'in' on the CD recorder. This was especially convenient since all the track nos. were stored on the dat deck. When I tried to record the CD recorder would not allow me to do so. The code said that I was violating copyright rules! This was my own music! I then took a copyrighted CD, inserted it in deck A and easily recorded it in deck B. No problem! But I couldn't do my own music! I then had to use the analog connection to record. This presented a lot of tracking problems. The instructions were not clear on this issue.
After recording analog on deck B, I then placed it in deck A to dub a copy. I could do so but only in 'real time', the high speed dub would not work!
The problems I'm descrbing is only the tip of the iceberg. Consumer help was... well... less than helpful.
By the way, in less than a year, the recording deck B broke, it will not 'read' a blank CD.
I'll never purchase a Sony product again.
