For the price ...including shipping.... this Pioneer cant be beat for a 5.1 setup.... This receiver is replacing a Pioneer that is 19 years old.....
Pros
Using their quick setup was a breeze.... up and running in 20 mins..
Plenty of power 120 x 5
Clarity is unbelievable..... especially HDDVD with a digital optical setup.
DTS rules... channel clarity, Bass and treble are crystal clear.....
When going from a HD DVD to a regular DVD it automatically senses and switches from DTS to Digital Dolby....
Cons
Manual is very confusing ... too many refer to pages.
Tweeking this system could drive you nuts ....If you are looking for a quick fix.
The quick setup button on the remote is easy to hit accidentaly until you memorize the remote.....If you do hit it, you go back to square one.....
no choice in the matter..... unless you turn it off and power back up.....before any questions are answered.
Overall
For a dependable work horse of a Home Theatre receiver.... Pioneer cant be beat..... plenty of power... clarity... tone... and choices for viewing DVDs or broadcast....
My last Pioneer after being dragged all over the country for 19 years... is being retired to the bedroom......
Vanns had the reciever in my hands in a very short time.... and their prices including shipping.... cant be beat.
