I started looking to replace my 5 year old HTIB with a current technology HTIB to compliment my 1080p TV. However, after much research, both on the web and on foot, I found that I could put together a better system for the same cost or less. The challenge was to get the best for the least amount of money. The Sony STR-DG520 met all of my requirements with regard to the cost to benefit ratio. The HDMI works flawlessly, the digital audio is full and pronounced. I am impressed with the sound fields available, which takes advantage of the room acoustics. The amp menus are easy to navigate and give lots of options. The tuner section is solid and locks onto more stations than I previous had. The inputs and outputs on the rear of this receiver are easy to work with and well delineated. For a budget AV Receiver this has met and exceeded my needs, plus it just looks great.
After researching price from everywhere on this Sony, I found that Vanns had the best price, so I ordered, and was impressed with the fast free shipping, double boxed and it arrived in perfect condition.
