I needed a receiver for my covered outdoor patio music set-up. The Sony STRDH-100 was a perfect match to accomodate the 350 watts of speaker I wanted. The receiver is very versatile and easily accomodates my Ipod station and radio choices while leaving tons of room to upgrade or add future connections. It comes with a convenient remote so you can control everything even if you are standing at your grill. Ive had it for a few weeks now and have zero negative comments to date.

I'd been shopping for a nice CD playerchanger, receiver and speakers for some time and low and behold I found Vanns. The reviews of the Sony STRDH100 were excellent and I can see why. Set up was easy, it has just enough features to meet my immediate needs but its expandable if I buy more equipment. It so enhances the sound I feel surrounded in the room when I play my CD.
Again, top notch item for great price and Vanns offers great service.

DELIVERY SMASHING! REAL FAST
SET UP IS STILL A PROBLEM. I STILL CANT GET SPEAKERS TO WORK THROUGH RECEIVER EVEN THOUGH ATTACHED AS DIRECTED. ALSO, IT PLAY ONY THROUGH TV WHEN USING CD SELECTOR AND I CANT GET SONY SERVICE TO RESPOND FOR PROCESS CHECK---BUMMER!.

This receiver was extremely easy to set up and had great sound. The only problem was I had bought it to go with a turntable and it doesnt have a phono hookup. Other than that it was great.

I decided to go back to a component stereo system, and this is exactly what I was looking for, and more! For a basic 2 channel receiver, it has a lot more features than I expected, and pleanty of power as well. The attachment of other components was a breeze, and it runs my TV sound to perfection. For an, old school, audiophile this unit provides all the access I was use to in my old system, and even routes my satellite box and DVD player to perfection.

Recently purchased the Sony and are quite happy with the product.
Easy to use, reasonably flexible, clean power for demanding materials we listen to a range from Bruckner to the Dead and overall everything the promo materials claim it to be
Only issue is that it would be great to have a tuner dial rather than having to search, makes it a pain to tune a station at the upper end of the dial.

I needed a two-channel stereo receiver for my home office, and this unit fits my needs perfectly. Plenty of power for driving my Design Acoustics speakers, and great sound through my studio headphones. If you need a phono input for a turntable without a pre-amp, this unit does not have one as expected with a receiver in this price range, but my turntable includes a pre-amp and the sound from my vinyl records is fantastic. Also, the FM sensitivity is much better than my main Onkyo 5.1 channel receiver, so all the FM channels in my area come in loud and clear.

I needed to replace an old Radio Shack Optimus receiver which was almost as old as my first born son.
After due digilance and conversations with Vanns tech support, who were very giving of their time and knowledge, I settled on this Sony for under $150.
Simple to use and set up. THe remote does most of the work and that takes some playingh with to fully learn its capabilities.
It is driving a pair of Sony F5000 floor speakers and the combo works just great.
I am not an audiophile, but I know when something sounds very good, crisp and clear.
This does it very well...I am very pleased with both the products and Vanns in general.

I love it, you can hook any device to it to get the music you want to listen to. I love the remote and all the capabilities that it offers. I was nervous to trust a company online, but now I am going to order another one for my office. It was easy to hook up and get going, I am surprisingly pleased.

This receiver has great sound. It just has Bass and Treble controls which I really prefer over those equalizer or preset sound controls.
My only quibble is there is no manually tuning on the radio.

I wanted a fairly powerful 2 channel receiver for an audio system in my workshop. The Sony is plenty powerful, even for my older, less efficient shop speakers. The remote is nice, full featured. You cant go wrong with Sony...or Vanns.

This is the best low end receiver that I could find anywhere, It sounds good, with enough power. It doesnt have a lot of features which is a good thing. I like the selector dial to change inputs . Best of all It has a two year mfg. warranty. The low end sherwood looked ok but appeared to last a couple weeks before the smoke came out literally So as far as A good product with good quality and cost, I would recommend it.

This unit was a perfect match to my Bose 2.1 Accoustimass speaker system used in a small 10 X 10 room. The goal was to simply enhance the sound from a 32 LCD TV and this does the job well. I got the fullness in sound that I was looking for.
This receiver is simple to use. I turn it on and listen.

Bought the strdh100 before Christmas, and I love it. Its compact in size but performs outstanding. I have it pushing 4 ceiling speakers, and its has no problems at all.
Its a base model system, but for the money, its a great machine

I needed to replace a worn-out low-end Teac 5CD deck in my office. This unit served me well for years, and dated to the pre-DVD days. I had it playing into a good set of powered computer speakers, and it worked okay that way. It is, after all, an office within an office building, and I cant really turn up the volume very loud.
So off to the Internet I went. If youve shopped for a plain old carousel CD player recently, you know that if you can even find one in the big-box stores, you dont get any choices. Vanns was among the many choices I found on Google. Could it be THE Vanns Appliance in Missoula? Sure enough. When I lived in Missoula in the 70s, Id bought TVs, WD, DW, and vacuum cleaner. It was THE place to buy appliances.
I logged onto Vanns and found not only a jazzy website, but lots of products with good prices, plus no sales tax and no shipping charges! They just kill us here in Washington State, with almost 10 sales tax! I wasted no time in picking out what I wanted and having it shipped to my office in Seattle. It was delivered, set up, and playing IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS!
So what did I buy? A lovely Sony CE375 5CD carousel deck. Nothing particularly pricey, but it has all the functions I needed with a very functional remote control. Im not a shuffler or a randomizer, so I dont use those features. I paired it with a Sony stereo receiver DH-100, also not pricey, and a pair of Polk R150 bookshelf speakers which happened to be on sale.
If youve shopped for a plain old stereo 2 channel receiver, youll know you cant find one of those in the stores either. Vanns had several choices, and the Sony DH-100 was perfect for my budget, and for my office environment. So far it greatly exceeds my expectations.
The Polk Audio R150 bookshelf speakers again not pricey sound exceptionally good for the size, and are perfect for the office.
Bear in mind I cant really push any volume limits for any extended length of time because Im in an office building, but this set up sounds dang good, playing my extensive collection of mostly classical CDs, and it definitely will crank up if I feel the urge. Everyday I sit here with great music washing over me, and Im really, really spoiled. Thanks, Vanns!
