The RXV371 is more than your everyday receiver
This 5.1-channel home theater receiver delivers 80 watts x 5-channel power with 192kHz/24-bit Burr Brown DACs for all channels. But that's certainly not all it does. It has four HDMI 3D-compatible inputs and one HDMI audio return channel, and 17 DSP programs. A mini jack on the front panel makes for easy connection of your portable audio player, and of course the RXV371 also decodes Dolby TrueHD, dts-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Plus and dts-HD high resolution audio. Your home theater experience is further enhanced by Yamaha's Cinema DSP. Cinema DSP offers independent sound fields that envelop you in an unmatched surround sound experience. With dialogue, music, and effects ideally located in these separate sound fields, you will hear sound with accurate placement, smooth movement, exceptional clarity and richness, and startlingly realistic presence. Easing operation, four SCENE buttons make using the RXV371 easier than ever. They are initially set to default settings for DVD Viewing, Disc Listening, TV Viewing, and Radio Listening. Pressing a SCENE button automatically launches a number of operations that initiate play of the source controlled by that button.

my 5th Yamaha home theater receiver. i have a PS3 and Directv HD DVR connected and they look and sound through this receiver, with JBL 5.1 satellite system. this unit could be a little confusing to setup and operate to someone with no previous experience with Yamaha receivers, but overall it is a great unit for the price. Ive already recommended it to 2 friends wanting to get a home theater set-up.

I bought the receiver a couple of months ago and it is used with polk surround speakers and subwoofers. I wasnt expecting such a wonderful sound system for this price. To my surprise it works really great!! I definitely recommend this to my friends!!

Let me say up front that I am a long-time fan of Yamaha equipment. They build great products that seem to last forever, in my experience. This little receiver is from Yamaha’s new consumer line.
I wanted an inexpensive receiver with enough wattage to drive efficient speakers with little effort. So far, this guy has done the job. I have it pushing a set of D*fT*ch P**C***ma 60.6s. It sounds GREAT!
On the up-side Plenty of power at 100 watts x 5 4 HDMI inputs and one HDMI output Audio Return Channel equipped more adjustable parameters than you can shake a techie at clear and extensive manual
On the down-side Spring-loaded terminals for center channel and surrounds! I mean, really, how expensive could it have been to install posts?? runs quite warm - provide good ventilation
The jury is out as to whether or not I am keeping the RX-V371. I cant seem to get past those spring-loaded speaker terminals.
