What more can you ask for out of a receiver. The 1912 hass many great features that usually do not come in its price category. 6HDMI Ports, AirPlay, Audysset multiEq and much more. It is easy to use and offers more than most for the cost. Denon has always made great receivers and that is why I chose this one along with the 2112CI. You will not regret your purchase. The only other receiver Id recommend of this one has more than you need is the Yamaha 701. However, the audyssey setup that Denon offers is superior to Yamahas YAPAO.

Recently received a Denon AVR-1912. I bought it during one of the sales so the price was a good as Ive seen anywhere. I like the quality of the receiver. Its considered to be one of the best of 2011 for its price range. I had tried a pioneer 1021, but the standby pass thru feature wouldnt work with my Sony TV. This one works well. Im still trying to make sense of some of the remote control buttons, but thats pretty standard with AV receivers.
Overall, Im happy with my purchase and highly recommend Vanns.

My review will be somewhat incomplete, as I am unable to properly setup this receiver yet...This amp needs to be setup with a setup wizard via a TV. Im a bit frustrated, however, as I temporarily have it setup in my basement that Im finishing, and wont have the TV installed until its completed. With older amps, you could simply plug in the speaker wire, plug in the source cd, cable, etc, and youre good to go. Not so with this amp. Plugging in the cable box, I am unable to get sound without the setup wizard. the only source I can listen to, actually, is the radio! Comparing this product to my older 5 years Yamaha amp, I have to say that the sound is not quite as rich, nor as loud as I had hoped. Im hoping that this is corrected after I finally get it setup via the setup wizard. One last point of contention is that the speaker connectors in the back are very difficult to connect to speaker wire, and if youve got anything larger than 14 gauge wire, youre going to need banana plugs to save yourself some serious frustration. I will be looking forward to getting this amp properly setup so that I can give a more accurate review.

I replaced my Yamaha surround sound system because it did not support 3D.The sound quality of the Dennon is good and there appears to be sufficient power to drive my Onkyo speakers. What is very disappointing is the display on the unit. The monochrome led display rivals that of a component from 1990. The information displayed is minimal and not very usfull. My 4 year old Yamaha had a much better display and was much more user friendly.
I would have expected much more from Dennon.

I have owned the Denon AVR-1912 for about 3 weeks now. Initial setup was simple, however fine tuning was slightly difficult. The instruction manual does not fully detail what features work under what conditions. For instance the Audessey dynamic EQ feature Which makes my speakers sound stunning did not work when I only had 2 fronts and a center hooked up. Then when I changed my 2 fronts to a Bi-Amp cable configuration, tada audessey started working. Overall I would rate this AV-Reciever very high as it has a lot of imputs and output power for the money with very cool features - Airplay is great although its slightly annoying that this is not a wireless device and you have to run a network cable to it.

The review is going to be in 2 pieces
1. Interaction with Vanns is a very nice experience. None of them are Pushy. They also gave me a great deal over the phone. Very nice return policy too.
2. The receiver I hooked it with Ps3, Jamo s606. Now, I was not very happy with the Jamo s606. But the receiver took care of the calibration. The remote is a pain in the neck to use.
Overall a very nice system money can buy.

I was in between the 609, 1021 and this one. I really feel that I made the best decision. I am really happy with the quality and functionality of the Denon. I was up and running in no time. It connected to the internet and I was able to use the Denon App on my Iphone to access my network library as well as the iphones library.
There is still some minor bugs with the iphone app but Denon already put an update out and its already gotten better. I would recommend this AVR to anyone that wants quality as well as network functionality.

This is an incredible piece of equipment! Extremely stylish along with outstanding sound and video.
Try hooking this puppy up with a Samsung 6500 blu ray player with 310 to Yuma and you will be blown away!
Oh, did I mention that Vanns is the place to buy! Great prices, high comfort level, and folks who know what they are talking about!
Look no farther for a quality DVR!

While being pretty new to AVRs, I did a lot of research. I finally settled on the Denon 1912.
The 1912 is the lowest level of Denon to have the networking feature, allowing you to steam hundreds of internet radio stations, Pandora, Flickr, etc. Since it has the networking capabilities, it also allows for a firmware update over the internet.
The 1912 also features Apple Airplay. I didn't think I'd use this feature much, but I've found that its very handy for playing music from iTunes on the home theater speakers that are in a different room. Now I don't need to setup Zone 2 as I generally play the same audio in the whole house anyway.
The quality of the Denon is amazing. I've noticed a pretty big increase in sound quality with the same speakers I was using before.
Once I replaced the old speakers and ran the Audyssey MultiEQ, the sound came alive. Audyssey MultiEQ is a great feature as it lets you calibrate the speakers for your room. You setup a microphone at ear level and and 6 locations in the room and the receiver will calibrate the speakers creating an acoustic bubble. On my previous receiver it didn't have this feature and I was always having to tweak everything myself. Needless to say I didn't get it right. Now I see how amazing sound can be.
Having six HDMI slots is great too. Finally have enough slots to last a little while. The fact that it supports 3D passthrough is also nice.
About the only con I can think of is the fact that there is no upscaling on the video. Thats a pretty small nitpick though since most DVDBD players already upscale themselves.
Overall I'm very pleased with the Denon 1912.

I ordered the Denon AVR-1912 AV receiver over the phone from Vanns. The whole experience was fantastic, very polite and prompt salesperson and lightning-quick shipping. The packaging was excellent with lots of padding and the item arrived in great shape.
Now for the performance. The AVR-1912 has a relatively low price but lots of advanced features including internet radio streaming, Audyssey MultiEQ, Airplay, etc.
I had the AVR1912 coupled with a Sharp 732U LCD TV, a Sony PS3 acting as BD player and an Nintendo Wii to keep my sons happy! Connections were a breeze and I could stream Netflix natively on the TV and use the ARC channel to get full surround sound through the 1912 into my 5.1 setup. Sound quality was excellent.
The OS menu system was a bit rudimentary from a looks standpoint, but fully functional, so no complaints. I have not tested out the Airplay and DLNA features yet.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. This is an amazing bargain with lots of very high-end features at an entry-level price. Highly recommended!
