DLNA compatibility gives you access to the current generations music rack: their home computers. You can stream music, and even movies through your new favorite listening device. Of course, all the old favorites are still in-house. Store your favorite 40 AM/FM radio stations, and use the seven audio inputs to connect your favorite music devices with ease. The 8050 even has a front USB port that's made for the iPod and iPhone. Old gen, meet new gen.

I got this for its internet capability. I had been using an older1990s Kenwood 5.1 in stereo mode for music with PSB Stratus Bronze speakers. The Kenwood amp made some impressive sound. I was disappointed when I heard this Onkyo. The mids and highs were very foreword and the bass lacked the authority of the Kenwood. I would have returned it if not for the pre-outs. I was able to buy a very gently used Parasound HCA 750A power amp. The PSBs are 4 ohm so the Parasound is delivering 125wch. With this combo the sound is well defined with plenty of headroom and a wow soundstage. Very pleasing at low volume. The initial set up takes some time but after that the receiver is very simple to use.

This receiver performed perfectly out of the box. It is very functional and easy to use receiver. I use them with a pair of Bose 901s and it sounds very solid. The remote with the unit is logically laid out, and I didnt have to go to manual to figure out basic functions.

Purchased this tuneramplifier because of its versatility. I wanted HDtraditional FM radio reception and i-pod and CD player connectivity. Also sufficient output to drive a pair of BOSE 301s adequately. I did need to purchase the UPHT1 HD receiver component, but installation and setup was straightforward.
This unit met all of my requirements including budget and I appreciate that the provided remote controls most of the new system. There are sufficient connectors on the back of the unit to meet all of the future needs I can foresee.
Sound quality is ok.

I am Using this as a BedroomBathroom setup in my new house. Mostly listen to Pandora and internet radio as back ground. Setup was simple, and quick, Internet radio works great. Hooked up a set of bookself speakers and a sub, it really sounds great. Inputing e-mail address took acouple of attempts , but once connected it has been rock solid. Very happy with Vanns and Onyko.

I was very satisfied with my purchase from Vanns and with the product itself. It arrived within a few days of my order and I was updated via email during the entire process. I was very pleased with the reciever and it was easy to set up and install. My only criticisim is it has no auxilary outlet on the back to power my Onkyo M505 power amp which has no IR remote capability therefore I have to manual turn that on instead of being able to activate it with my RF remote unit. Other than that, I am a happy customer.
