Very impressed with these little guys! Although no deep base, the low-mids through the treble are clean and solid. Even electronic music, with it's heavy deep base layered beneath treble melodies at the same time, sounds good. Can't get much better sound for the price!

After 'Goodwill-ing' a pair of ancient Acoustic Research AR-2 speakers during a cross-state move, I needed some bookshelf speakers for a small home office. After reading several reviews I decided to buy Bose 141s and began an online search for the best price.

This is my second pair of the Bose 141. My first pair was given to me by my sister many moons ago. They have always performed well, not just as secondary bookshelf speakers, but as my primary speakers in the living room ... nicely concealed from view.

So when considering a second pair to connect in another part of the house, I had to first see what Bose had available. To my pleasant surprise the 141s were still available, and with the low Vanns.com price and free shipping, was a deal I couldn't refuse!

BOSE has developed another winner with the very affordable 141 Book Shelf Speakers. The quality of the sound produced by these speakers has brought my stereo system to the next level. The BOSE 141 speakers clarity and "Expensive" sound, clearly demonstrates that bigger is not better when buying speakers. The speakers are very attractive and will fit well in any room. even though these speakers seem to be at lower end of the bose line, they easily outperform many higher priced speakers from most other manufacturers. they sound nearly perfect without any serious EQ adjustment necessary. you can listen to any kind of music with these speakers and feel that the sound is true to the recording.
i will stick with bose from now on.

I replace a set of Infinity bookshelf mini's with the Bose 141's and it completes my system Bose Speakers. I am not had a set of rear channel speakers that function as well. The are very clear and efficient and serve the purpose perfectly.

I've had my Bose for two years now, and they have served me very well. The small size of the speakers have matched perfectly in my college dorm room and apartment. The speakers are very handsome, with gray finish and black grilles. They have sounded terrific since the day I got them. They have excellent mid spectrum tones, and I can't recall ever hearing distortion. My only complaint has been that they simply aren't loud enough. Their 40 watt rating is plenty for a small room or office, but they lose their strength in larger rooms. Overall, I am very pleased, and expect to keep these speakers for a very long time!

These we the first speakers I ever bought and I am very glad I did. When I bought them the plan was to first only buy two and deal with only stereo sound for now and then buy more for surround sound when I get the money later. Since I have gotten then home and hooked them up I have basically decided that all I needed was the two. Ever since I constantly find myself turning around thinking that something is behind me. I soon realize that it was only the movie I was watching. I don't know how Bose does it but they have somehow simulated surround sound. I would say that it is worth spending the money for these speakers. They might just be the last you buy.

Great speakers at an even better price! The speaker quality is what you would expect from a bose speaker pair. If I had to say one bad thing about them it would be that they are rather big for rear channel use.

I like the sound that the bose 141 gives out. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sound that came out of such a small box.
the tone is rich for such a small speaker yet it doesn't compare to a speaker twice its size. ( No kidding) You can tell that you listening to a small speaker. The low frequency is definately adequate and you dont miss the bass feel that it gives out.
The high frequency is noticable and the mid rande of the speaker tone is somewhat missing. Overall its quite a wallop for 80 watts. However my jvc rx717 had to work harder to make these speakers work as mains. they are grear for surround speakers.
