I recently purchased a 70 SHARP LCD TV with an amazing video performance, but very inadequate built in speakers. I purchased a SHARP sound bar made for this line of SHARP TVs, which was absolutely a disappointment with very weak and tinty sound that distorted badly with higher volumes. I decided to spend a little money and get a set of Bose AM-5s for the front left and right channels, and searched Vanns to see if Bose made a center channel speaker that was not part of a larger Bose Lifestyle System, and I found the VCS 10. I hooked the VCS 10 up to my AMP first, waiting for the mounts to get shipped before I connected the AM-5s. My wife tunred on the system, not realizing that the main speakers were not connected, with only the VCS 10 playing. I came running downstairs, and we were completely blown away by the sound, which I was surprised to find had a decent bass output. The VCS 10 is connected directly to my AMP, and now works perfectly in concert with my other speakers, offering rich and deep dialogue sound that fills the room better than any center channel speaker I have ever heard. The VCS 10 could easily be the only speaker required for a smaller room. I couldnt find this speaker on the Bose or Crutchfield websites. Thanks to Vanns outstanding product line, hard to find equipment like the VCS 10 are still available to those seeking solutions for custom home theater projects.

I have always been a fan of Bose for many years and the VCS-10 has kept me a loyal fan. And it complemented my Bose Acoustimass 10 surround sound system, I turned my center channel cube into a center rear surround speaker. I went from a 5.1 to a 6.1 surround sound system, powered by a Yamaha receiver. The VCS-10 looks and sounds great! I have my 50 Panasonic Plasma 3D HDTV mounted on the wall over the fireplace and the VCS-10 right on the mantel. The size is just perfect!

This center speaker made a big difference I was using an Small center speaker by Klipsch, With the VCS_10 the dialog comes out much cleaner, Its been powered by an Onkyo receiver with 130 wattsCh RMS , which allow me to calibrate the right level. It is combined with a Kipsch 12 subwoofer 300 watts RMS .The only Drawback of the VCS-10 It does not come with Binding post connection. Excellent center speaker for the price. It is not bulky as some other brands, and will blend with any TV. Vanns' delivery time was superb... right on time as usual...!

As soon as the box came, I placed the center speaker in its place and turned it on. As part of my surround sound system it fit in place easily and in seconds was in service and it does what it is supposed to. The center speaker is a powerful voice and Bose quality is what I wanted. It delivers.

Bought this model because of its low profile - it fits perfectly underneath the screen of our flat screen tv.

The sound is great when mixed with the other channels and sub-woofer.

A bit more than I would have liked to pay for a single speaker, but it was the perfect solution for my situation.

Item arrived in 2 days. Very pleased with Vanns service, communication and free shipping. Speaker works fine and is a great improvement over previous center channel speaker I was using in my 6.1 surround system. Silver color matches my 40 inch lcd tv and sits unobtrusively on top of it.

I recently purchased a JVC 42' Plasma TV, so thought I'd updgrade my home theatre configuration as well. I just added the Bose VCS-10 and Bose 161 Surround speakers to my pair of Bose 201 fronts what a difference!!! Bose rocks!!!! I highly recommend this configuration for condos, apts, and townhomes where the sub-woofer violates CCR's and related rules. This configuration provides excellent clarity and good bass. Cheers.....

This is the only speaker I could find with the slim profile. I needed a speaker of these dimensions to fit into a custom entertainment center.

The sound is great - very crisp. Even my half deaf father can understand dialog very well.

Vanns did a great job both shipping on time and having the best price out there.

I purchased this boses center speaker to go along with the 301's and 201's in my home theater system. I love bose speakers, but I think that this speaker doesn't live up to the bose name. It is not a bad product, but I expected slightly better.

This center channel has remarkable performance and clarity for its convenient size. It is the highlight of my 5.1 system, which includes a pair of 301s (front) and 161s (rear) to complete a high end direct/reflecting bose speaker package for a reasonable price. Throw in a big sub for some throaty low frequency beats. I highly recommended this center channel. If you don't believe me, go to your local store and test it against the others.

There are just so many audio components out there! Every speaker sounds different through every different receiver. It's enough to drive you mad. And just when you thought you had chosen the speaker system right for you, new audio formats come out that take advantage of more speakers. It used to just be stereo sound. Now with Dolby Pro Logic II, DVD-audio, THX, speaker systems can be as small as two speakers and as large as 8+. In keeping with current home theater set-ups, most people have five speakers (2 front, 2 rear, and 1 center speaker). Personally, I plan on getting a receiver that uses 6 speakers, also known as 6.1 (the .1 represents the subwoofer). This adds a rear center surround speaker. This left me with the mission of finding a new front center speaker. One thing to keep in mind is that it's good to buy components that are "matched" to one another. In other words, they are made with the others in mind so that none of the speakers or components will seem sonically out of place when part of your set-up. This usually means buying speakers by the same manufacturer. But also, any speaker(s) you buy must match your needs. I was looking for a center speaker that sounded great and didn't take up too much room. A lot of the center speakers I tried sounded good, but were pretty bulky. Finally I tried out the Bose VCS-10 and didn't need to look any further. It's pretty sleek and sounds great. Not only that, but it spreads the sound out much more so than the cube speaker that used to be there. It fits perfectly on my 32" TV. The center speaker basically takes care of most if not all of a movie's main dialogue. Therefore, it's important that the speaker have a clean, crisp sound to it. This one definitely meets those needs and also sounds great when used just with music. It's also a perfect match for my Bose Acoustimass 15 system. I like what Bose produces and their quality and performance is always consistent. I'm very happy with my purchase of the VCS-10, especially with Vanns' quick delivery. Thanks guys.

This speaker is simple to install and the clarity is excellent. We can now hear all the dialog we were missing with only front speakers in place. Whether positioned above or below the tv, the sound is incredible. Bose makes speaker systems so easy to install and incorporate into an existing stereo system. I will never own anything but Bose again.

This center channel speaker is a nice, balanced compliment to my Bose 301 main speakers in my home theater setup. I've read in other reviews that if you use this to compliment mains other than Bose you'll be disappointed. Now I haven't tried this in a non-Bose setup, but I don't know why that would be true, because it's a clean-sounding speaker (that looks nice on top of the TV, too.) Though I probably would heed the advice of matching of tone and timbre. Overall a wise choice!
