I had decided to finally replace a 30 year old 2 channel system. Sending my Technics SA-400 to the garage and tossing the turntable,cassette player and tower speakers in the trash. I stumbled upon Vann`s and was going to go with an HK receiver & CD changer and a highly rated CRpair of Sony towers based on the reviews and price. Then the receiver and speakers were out of stock so I went with Onkyo`s TX 8522 and DX-C90 six disc CD changer along with a one level upgrade to the next highest rated CR again towers which cost 2 1/2X the Sony`s at another internet seller.
I`m happy now that it all happened this way.
This receiver really kick`s it! I mainly listen to 70`s 80`s rock and this set up really ROCKS and I am hearing notes I`ve never heard before with amazing clarity. So much so I am re-learning the lyrics to some of my all time fav`s. I don`t use the Pure Audio feature but an important inclusion this receiver has is the A/B speaker capability which means you can listen indoors, outdoors or both. Overall if you are on the fence as I was you will not go wrong with this setup. Be sure to get a pair of Bi-Wire capable speakers and you too can be blown away with this 2 channel gem. Controls are easy and straight forward, though I won`t set up the remotes until the weekend. I`m sure 1 will talk to both receiver and CD.
