Klipsch 2-Way Black Synergy Series Bookshelf Speakers Pair
SB2 (Black/White)
Two-way system delivers 85 watts of maximum continuous power with a 1-inch aluminum dome compression driver and one 6.5 inch magnetically shielded woofer.
Synergy bookshelf loudspeakers prove that great sound can come in small, affordable packages. The SB-2 bookshelf speaker is the perfect step-up solution for a powerful full-range system that still has the benefits of a compact size. Standing just 15-inches tall, the SB-2 incorporates the same driver technology as the SF-1 floorstanding speaker - a 1-inch aluminum-diaphragm compression driver with a 5-inch square Tractrix Horn and a single 6.5-inch graphite-injected woofer.
The SB-2 offers the same features as its larger Synergy Series counterparts, including a high-definition crossover network and an internally braced enclosure. Its cast-polymer woofer frame has exceptional impact tolerance to protect the driver's internal parts and maintain their critical alignment. A rear-mounted port increases efficiency and extends bass response, allowing high output with low distortion and low turbulence. Klipsch's unique woofer venting system keeps both the magnet and voice coil cool to ensure long-term reliability. The SB-2's enclosure employs the highest-quality MDF construction and is finished in jet ash vinyl veneer. This bookshelf also features a "floating," or suspended, grille design, which minimizes image-impairing sonic reflections.
In the past it wasn't possible to place speakers close to your TV due to possible damage from the magnetic fields inside the speaker. This limited speaker placement options, which has become more critical with today's smaller rooms and home theater applications. Video shielded means that these speakers can be placed in close proximity to your television without disrupting the picture or causing permanent damage.

This speaker pair is amazing. The sound field it creates in my living room is crystal clear. It recreates the true depth of the stage and perfect positioning of each and every instrument. I use this mainly to listen to music. All types of music, Jazz, Pop, Indian Classical, Instrumental, Hindi movie songs etc. I am extremely happy in all genre. Also, the frequency response of 55Hz, in my opnion is adequate to bring out all musical bass. So I am using these speakers without a subwoofer. I am not planning to add a subwoofer too. The price I got it from Vanns.com was amazing too. These speakers are extremely directional. So you need to experiment a little to get the focus correct. Once it is done you will be in musical seventh heaven. My Setup HK340 Stereo receiver. 14 guage Monster Cable. Klipsch SB2 Speakers.

Positives: Great price, free shipping and sharp looking. They have a very clean sound when matched up to my Yamaha HTR-5790. Negatives: Speakers lack the punch of the other Klipsch speakers. These are definitely low end. Speaking of low end, there isn't much of that. I would suggest getting the SB3's, except there frequency response range is not much better. If I didn't have a good subwoofer, I would have sent them back.

Home Theater and Audiophiles please note
I have owned a pair of SB-2 for approximately 2 years that were part of a 5.1 system with Klipsch SCW-2 in-walls and SC-1 center channel. I designed my home theater system around those components and they did an outstanding job for both movies and music. Unfortunately, the SCW-2's had to remain with the house as they were built in when the house recently sold. I was considering upgrading all of my speakers for my new home theater room when I found Vann's and their selection of Klipsch products.
The original line of Synergy product manufactured by Klipsch are not be confused with the line of products in the big box stores currently. The Synergy line carried by Vann's is the much higher quality and superior product line manufactured entirely in the U.S. When I realized I could acquire another pair of SB-2's along with a pair of SS-1 for my rear surrounds I jumped at the opportunity. Vann's pricing should be reason enough to purchase these speakers, however, you can take it from someone who has owned most of the top audiophile products over the past 35 years, that the quality and sound reproduction of the SB-2's is unmatched. I strongly urge anyone in the market for a 5.1 or greater system to consider 2 SB-2 pairs for a 5.1 system or 3 pairs for a 6.1 or 7.1 systemor mix them with SS-1 also available at Vann's at an amazing price. My system Using a Marantz SR-8400 AV Receiver and an SVS subwoofer is unbelievable. If you are serious about wanting a multi-channel system for even a medium sized room, the SB-2's are an unbeatable value from Vann's.

Big thanks for Vanns and their customers stearing me towards my Klipsch SB-2's. These speakers are so colorful and clear, there is going to be a lot of time relistening to my music collection - it all sounds new. Right now, Monk is in Tokyo and lighting it up. This was a gut decision made through the helpful, discriptive site and the customers who took the time to write in.
I live in a 600 sq ft. studio with high ceilings and the SB-2's are plenty. They are being run through a Harmon Kardon AVR40 that runs an average of 65watts from 20Hz-20kHz. These are fantastic speakers for this space. The sound is so dimensional. Compatable with a wide range of music. They handle Melvins as well as Morton Feldman and the points in between. It's difficult to imagine getting more bang for your buck.
Vanns handling was flawless. I ordered my speakers during the holidays and they arrived sooner than expected - tightly wrapped in their original packaging. The care they took in confirming the purchase was reassuring along with the detailed contact and shipping information. Another happy customer.

I purchased the Klipsch SB2s as part of a bundle special from Vann's, which also included the Klipsch SC1 center channel speaker, Klipsch SS1 surrounds, and an Infinity PS-10 subwoofer. I have them running off of a Harman Kardon AVR230 receiver.
I bought this new system about 2 months ago, to replace my old home theater in a box setup, and the difference, as you would expect, is amazing. Even my wife, who would never claim to be an audiophile, can notice a huge difference. There is just such clarity at all different frequencies. The lows are clean and deep, and the highs are crisp and clear.
I decided on this system after doing extensive research. I was looking for a system for a 24 x 12 room, and was looking for something that wouldn't take over the entire room size-wise, but would still produce full range sound. I was also looking to spend no more than $1,500 for the entire system.
I don't believe that I would have been able to accomplish all of those goals had it not been for Vann's. Their prices simply destroyed the competition. I got all six speakers for $763.24, and shipping was free! For just the five Klipsch speakers at a local big box electronics store, I would have paid over $800. For less money, I got an extra $350 subwoofer.
Vann's also provided great service. Customer service was especially helpful to me, answering some questions that I had prior to when I placed my order. I was also very happy with their speed in shipping my order. I received my speakers about a week after I ordered them, through regular ground shipping. That was very impressive, considering they traveled from Montana to Michigan. I will definitely consider Vann's the next time I make a major electronics purchase.

These I would rate as a 5 - period.
After going through a series of speakers for my fronts, I was at wits-end. That it, until I purchased the Klipsch SB-2.
The sound balance between the horn and the bass is seamless. The presence has a warm texture and I like that. I'm not a boom-boom fan. The first thing I had to try was an action movie with tons' of shoot-em ups. Not only did I hear the distinct clicks of the 1911 Colt 45, but I also hear the empty roung hitting the ground with the brassy clink.
Then, I put on The Brotherhood of the Ring first in the triligy - I could only sit there speechless. A whole new sound field had opened up.
Next, I ran Beethoven's 9th through the SB-1's. Again balance, presence and sound.
I'm even more impressed by the customer service I got, the price, and the speed of delivery. The guy at Vann's had something called product knowledge - that impressed me. So often, one calls and asks about a product and they sales person simply read a canned sales pitch. The guy I spoke to at Vann's had it all. My shopping trip to Vann's was completely positive.
If you're limited in space or budget, the Klipsch SB-1's are the creme de creme.

I was in the market for a reasonably priced pair of speakers primarily to listen to music in a small living room. Either bookshelf or small floor speakers would have met my space requirements. I was ready to buy a set of JBL's when a friend suggested I listen to his Klipsch setup. He's serious when it comes to audio and has been devoted to Klipsch for many years. The smooth sound from his larger Klipsch units convinced me and we decided on the SB2's for my small room. I found that Vann's had, by far, the best price and free shipping on Klipsch, a deal I couldn't refuse.
My expert friend is so impressed with the sound quality from these 'little' speakers that he's the one bragging about them.
I am completely satisfied with Vann's service and would not hesitate to recommend them. The speakers were shipped immediately and arrived on time.

These are great value for the money. Very attractive enclosure mated with very crisp highs & colorful mids. I bought my first pair back in Dec 02. I use them for front speakers on my five speaker set up. I love them so much I just bought another pair for my sister.
