This sub is the first sub I have bought that was not part of a set. Awesome room filling sound. The sub is currently paired with Bose 301s and the overall sound production is outstanding.
The shipment of the speaker arrived very quickly, however the box that the speaker was shipped in was crushed on one corner and one side appeared to have been kicked in. This was probably thanks to FEDEX though. |

Amazing woofer. Bass is so clean and natural sounding. Price cant be beat. I also got the Quintet II surround package and just ordered an Onkyo TX-SR705 to go with it. I love Vanns and will do any future shopping with them. |

This is one nice little sub. I have an average size carpeted room with overstuffed furniture and this thing has no problem filling the room. Make sure to follow the instructions on placement and invest in a good cable for the line feed hook-up as well as a splitter. It made a big difference in my experience. Set up was fairly easy, but I wish the manual gave more instruction on the settings. I just used trial and error until I was satisfied with the sound. It is a whole new experience with movies and music!! |

Holy Hurricane! I got my sub a few days ago and finally found a great movie to test it out - The Perfect Storm. I thought I was in the storm with waves crashing and wind blowing around me. The sub produced the perfect punch, even when I raised the volume. In playing music, it also adds the low notes that I never really knew were there - at the right setting, it really blends perfectly and doesn't just sound/feel like a thump.
The auto-on feature is useful, but it seems that my reciever doesn't automatically put out a sub signal for music when it's set for surround mode. Seems like a receiver thing, though, cause it comes on automatically when the receiver is set to deliver "the low stuff" to both the mains and sub.
The manual could be a little more informative. My reciever (as most, I assume) has a single RCA pre-amp output for the sub. But the sub has left and right RCA inputs. I thought I needed a Y-connection and all the sub connectors at the store were just single-to-single. Luckily? after 30 minutes of looking, I read the monster subwoofer cable package, which explained that although the sub has left and right RCA inputs, you only need to connect to the left. Why didn't the manual say that in plain English? That's why setup could have been better. |

This is one powerful sub for the money. It responds well to music and theater tracks alike, and setup was a snap. For a small room you can't go wrong with a sub like this. |

wow what a increadable woofer I was instantly impressed with the packaging and custom black plastic cover and the ease of hookup and feel of the well built unit. there is many variables which i liked so as to be able to custom the effect of sound and the many options fo hookup made it easily intergrated into my system' the sound is awsome and the crossover really does its job with removing the mid and high range . the auto on and off is a very likeable option ./ the box is smart looking and the style classy. the only thing i didnt like was the fact that the speaker itself is not protected with a grid. i say this cos my 1 year old son tried to stick his hand through it 5 minutes after it was setup.. better watch those fingures hey...

Out of all the home theater components I needed to buy, the sub was the big question mark. Because Bose (my first pick) doesn't make stand-alone powered subs. Then someone recommended Klipsch. I did as much homework as I could, being as there was no place in town where I could actually HEAR it. For such a small package, this sub packs a big punch in my LARGE theater area! And I only have the volume control knob up halfway! I like the indicator light on front so I can see when it automatically comes on, too (red or green). A nice match for my Bose 301/VCS-10/100 Main/Center/Surround setup. |

Excellent excellent sub for the price. I was up and running in minutes. One thing I did find was that the connector post was kinda loose. I guess I applied a bit too much pressure when connecting. But I think its cosmetic only - has not affected the audio quality so far. |
