This Sub is incredible. The clarity is impressive and the room filling bass sets you in your seat and keeps you there. A sub really makes the Home theatre and Klipsch is awesome. Not to mention all this and Vanns awesome service. |

I put together a home theater with equipment all from Vanns. I got this subwoofer based on the reviews and price and Im so glad. As someone else noted, my house rocks when this sub goes. My son is three floors away and he could feel it as I tested out The Matrix.
If you want your movies to come alive, get this sub -- you wont be disappointed. |

Hello,
I had a KSW-15 about 3 years ago, and it was too powerful... So I sold it!!
It would literally vibrate the bed in the room where it was located. BOOOMM....BOOOMM !!!
So, I have decided to get a smaller 12' sub.
In my opinion, Klipsch makes the best mid-price range SUBS on the market.
I have listened to several SUBS, some were Ultra-High end...
However, the BEST 'BOOM' FOR THE BUCK IS KLIPSCH..
I have the Complete Synergy Series & I think this unit will be better for smaller areas than the Ksw-15. My room size is 15'x15'
The construction of the older version Klipsch subs [the one shown in the pictures] is Excellent... The newer model subs Klipsch has released are not as good. So, If you are thinking about getting a Klipsch sub..
'NOW IS THE TIME'
Because You will not be able to get this version of the KSW-12 for much longer.
Happy Listening.... |

The Klipsch KSW-12 is a high quality subwoofer for it's price range. First off, it looks nice and is made of good materials. The setup was easy by just following the manual. After getting it all set up, I popped in my Aliens DVD and was surprised at just how much it added to my home theater. It hits the lows with no trouble and rumbles my room (20x20 feet) with thick, powerful bass. There is absolutly no vibration inside the cabinet, and everything is built solidly. It does not overdo it in bass, however, and blends in well with my Klipsch KSP 1.1 speaker set.
For sub-$500 subwoofers, this is a definite contender and won my money. Other notables in this price range are subs by HSU and Mission, both of which are hard to locate and which you will pay full price for.

This sub really thumps. I have my HT in a large open room. I was really worried about getting a sub that filled the entire room with bass. Well, this one really does the job. Of all the equipment I have, this is the best value for my money. Get this sub!!!! |

I read the reviews and demoed the sub twice. I was very impressed with the depth of this sub. I've always liked the Klipsch line and when it came time to set up a new home theater I was quickly sold on the Klipsch Quintets and the KSW-12 combination. I've had the system for about 6 months and am consistently impressed with every dvd movie played. It does great with music too. Experiment with placement of the sub - it does sound different depending on where you place it. Corners of the room will bring out the deepest bass. |

This is an excellent subwoofer for the money. The bass that it delievers is always tight which is its best quality. I listen to a wide variety of music ranging from classical to Metallica. What sold me on this unit was the way that it would always underscore what the main speakers are putting out. When it's setup properly (which can take a while to get it just right but that is normal for any woofer) you don't notice that it's in the room except when it's at very high volumes. Cellos and Basses sound fuller and more realistic than any other woofer that I've ever heard (but please note that I only listened to <$500 woofers) and the same goes for low beats from techno music. It also has more than enough power to shake things off your walls and really delievers for home theatre. Set up is a breeze and just involves running either a speaker wire or an LFE line into woofer and plugging it into a socket. Getting it properly matched to your speakers will take a little while but it's worth it. The only bad thing that I would have to say about the speaker are rumurs that I've heard about the loud popping sound that it can make when your receiver shuts off. I have a Denon 3200 AVR receiever and I have never had this type of problem but that may be because of the receiever and not the woofer. Overall I love this speaker. |

This subwoofer ROCKS! It has an awesome and powerful onboard amplifier. It's low pass filter is pristine. It has a miriad of ways to hook it up, not too mention the most complete manual I have seen for a subwoofer to make hooking it up successful. The seperate LFE direct input is excellent for Home Theatre applications as well as for music. This sub is a perfect compliment to any sound system. I have the Klipsch Quintet and wanted a rather powerful sub. This is the one.
Features that influenced my decision is, as always, Klipsch's incredible reputation, the powerful amplifier and ease of setup.
This subwoofer is for anyone needing tight and powerful bass...not only for Home Theatre but for music as well. It can play cleanly rather loud, so as long as your neighbors don't mind....turn it up!
I have compared this sub to others including: Infinity, JBL, Cerwin-Vega, Klipsch KSW-10 and Mirage. While Infinity and Cerwin-Vega make good subs, none of these brands came within the same ballpark as far as power and crispness is concerned.
I would HIGHLY recommend this sub to anyone who is looking for one. To get better bass, you would need to spend way more money and on a high-end sub with twice as much wattage. |
