We are pleased to present a fantastic pair of Definitive's compact Dolby AC-3 ready bipolar rear/side surround speakers, the BP2X Surround Speaker Pair. These stylish, attractive, and powerful speakers are intended for on-wall, shelf, or stand mounting (you can also use any of Definitive's bipolar towers for rear/side surrounds), making these extremely versatile and easily adapted to your favorite audio arrangement. Like Definitive's center channels, the BP2X speakers are built to the same high construction and performance standards as Definitive's main left and right front speakers and include features like high-definition bass/midrange drivers with butyl rubber surrounds, wide-dispersion pure aluminum dome tweeters with magnetic cooling fluid, complex Linkwitz-Riley crossover networks, and solid monocoque cabinets with diffractionless grill/baffle interfaces.
The bipolar advantage
Definitive's BP2X bipolar surround speakers are simply the best available. Each is a true bipolar system containing two complete full-range speaker system, one on each side of the cabinet. Bipolar technology is absolutely superior for surround speakers because it synergistically combines the performance advantages of direct radiating (imaging, focus, localization, and specificity) and dipolar speakers (spacious, sourceless, all-enveloping ambience) into one ideal system which is perfect for all discret 5.1 formats including Dolby Digital AC-3, DTS, Dolby EX, and Dolby Pro-Logic. They are full-range, extremely linear, low-distortion speakers which are timbre-matched to blend perfectly with all Definitive's speakers as well as other high-quality speaker systems.
Full range of applications
In addition to their use as side/rear surround speakers, the BP2X speakers are ideal for use as front effects speakers. Also, because Definitive's bipolar surround speakers are engineered as true high quality speaker systems, they are perfect for use as left and right front speakers with or without a subwoofer. Like Definitive's bipolar towers, the BP2X speakers reproduce a huge, lifelike, exceptionally wide three-dimensional soundstage with absolutely stunning depth-of-field.
Easy to the extreme
Definitive's BP2X bipolar surrounds are designed for easy and unobtrusive placement in your room. Easy-to-use mounting plates are included for wall mounting if desired. Positioning is extremely non-critical; unlike dipolar surrounds, which are limited by their specific sidewall placement placement requirements, Definitive's bipolars may be located on the sides or rear of the room (or both as in Dolby EX installations) or on the ceiling. They may be mounted on the rear wall (with their front drivers shooting towards each other and their rear drivers shooting toward the side walls) with excellent results.

Ive purchased four of these & am using them as rear-side and rear surrounds in a 9.2system. my front five speakers are def. tech. mythos ones and nines
Im very pleased with these - they are my first bi-polar speakers and I think they are perfect for their use as surrounds.

The Definitive Technologies BP2X are being used as side surround speaker completing my surround sound set up augmenting my Front, Center, and rear speakers that are also Def Techs.. They replace long-term much smaller cube units that required a separate bass unit. These speakers have a better balanced sound that fills the side effect nicely with a wider and more diverse sound field. I wish they reproduced a slightly lower bass frequency. I highly recommend them. They are sturdy and nice looking piece purchased at a great sale price.

As far as definitive rear surround go this speaker is the best value fo the money. It absolutely change my home theater. i am running definitive bp6b and clr2002 up front with these as rear surrounds. I got phenomenal pricing from Vann's and lightning fast deliivery

The BP1.2As are really good at dispersing the sound making surround effects much more enveloping. I have a good deal at VANN'S, always low price than other store online.

Received my BP2Xs from Vanns yesterday, and as always they arrived safe and secure. Installation was a breeze, and it didnt take long to realize the great quality room filling sound that these speakers produce. They matched extremely well with my Studio Monitor 350s in the front and my CLR2002 center. First tested them with the opening scene from Bourne Identity on Blu Ray, and they delivered big time- felt like I was on that boat getting hit by the waves. They replaced ProMonitor 60s which was obviously a significant upgrade. I would highly recommend these speakers as they will not disappoint, they are also very attractive and budget friendly. Vanns and Def Tech consistently a great combination.
