Outstanding Floorstanding Speakers

Each of these floorstanding speakers include 3 drivers, providing a terrific range of sound while remaining less than 10 inches wide. The 3-way speakers include a 1-inch balanced dome tweeter, a 3.25-inch midrange driver and an 8-inch bass driver. They can handle 150 watts of power and have a frequency range of 45 Hz - 50 kHz, presenting you with clean, powerful sound. The speakers are magnetically shielded, allowing placement right next to your television set without worry about interference. The black finish fits well with most decor, and speaker cables are provided so you can hook up these speakers as soon as you take them out of the box.

H.O.P. To It

The 8" bass drivers and 3.25" midrange drivers in these speakers feature improved H.O.P. cones to bring you overall sound improvement. H.O.P. stands for Sony's exclusive Highly Oriented Polyolefine, which is a speaker cone material of extraordinary strength. It's up to 30 times more rigid, per unit weight, than polypropylene. One Fine Tweeter

Of course the woofers and midrange drivers aren't the only parts of these speakers to get special attention. The tweeters were built with their own Nano-Fine technology to improve sound delivery. Conventional material suffers from high internal loss and low resistance to both heat and humidity. The Nano-Fine material gives you much lower internal loss, and high resistance to both heat and humidity. The result is crisper sound at the high end, adding to your overall sound experience.

These Sony speakers are the best I have owned for what little they cost. Dont be fooled though, these speakers are tall and slim measuring around three feet by less than one foot. They stand great on hardwood and thin carpet, but might not do so well on thick carpet. The sound is incredible for the price, it has enough bass and sound to blast any small living room, even without a sub. It has great range, and is capable of playing todays top of the line surround sound games, tv, or blue-ray dvds. They look good, they sound great, and are priced great. Afterall, your front speakers are the most important in your surround sound system.

These speakers sound superb and for the price out do anything and everything. Deep bass to high end frequencies, you just cant beat these. Comes with speaker wires, nothing heavy duty, but its not like you are running 100amps through it. Works fantastic!

These Sony speakers were a replacement for my 150 watt Pioneer speakers that were over 22 years old. So far, I have played all types of music through them, for hours and hours. The sound and range of these speakers is excellent. Very sharp, clear, precise. They may be only a basic 3-way speaker set but they sound like a larger, more upgraded unit. Also, they are very nice quality speakers and I like too, that they are somewhat smaller than the over-sized Pioneer speakers they replaced. Anyone looking for a quality speaker, 150 watts, would be very pleased with these Sonys and their price. I based my purchasing decision on both customer reviews and price. I am very pleased with my decision. My parents were reluctant to part with their 1986 Cerwin Vegas that they paid out the nose for back in the day, but I have to say these speakers sound much better - they fill the room on low volume. Striking clarity, perhaps not enough bass response for some, but I was pretty impressed with the sensitivity of the speakers to all ranges. These speakers are a great buy.

I was a bit skeptical when I first saw the Sony speakers advertised. The usual rule is that Americans make the best speakers while the Japanese make everything else in audio affordable and reliable.

A Google search found your company as a retailer. Given the cost consideration and the great write-up, I decided to give them a try. Actually I could not believe Sonys low price for tower speakers.

When they arrived and I set them up, I was amazed. The highs were crisp and clear and the bass strong and right up front. Build quality was excellent.

In my home theater system, it plays very fine classical music from CD, it sounds spectacular movie from DVDBD.

I compared this one with SONYs higher grade ones SS-F6000 or SS-F7000. Because I found that differences are mostly lower frequency capability and I use it with Sub-Woofer, I decided to take SS-F5000. And I believe my decision is right.

These speakers sound pretty good. They kick out a fair amount of bass, the midrange is unbelievable, I can hear sounds that I hadnt heard from CDs that I listen to all the time. I use a 10 band equalizer which I recamend because in some rooms the tones may need some adjustments, like for instants, in my room I have a lot of wanescotting on the walls and as a rule of thumb you need to have the trebble at a much higher level when a room has a lot of wood suroundings. Also I recamend the higgher quality speaker cables.
You cant go wrong with these speakers plain and simple.

These speakers are incredibly intricate with a wide plane of sounds. Once i popped the box open i started off by playing some drum n bass by diesel boy, and to my total satisfaction, i could hear small high-range sounds that i hadnt even noticed before. That is from a song im quite familiar with. The bass kicks are felt in the chest, and they definitely hit when the powerhouse tell them to. So i didnt notice any sort of bass-lag. Ive got a sony reciever coming soon which will certainly better my experience, but already from playing them through a bookshelf system an mx-gt80 that would cut out its circuitboard every 5 seconds they dominated my expectation for the price. I am a major home entertainment buff, and i would still recommend these speakers to all types of users, as long as you can appreciate how classy they look

Ive only used these speakers for a few days but they sound awesome for surround sound and CDs. The bass could be a bit fuller and does benefit from a subwoofer, but they have very clear sound. Vanns price and delivery were top notch, and the price was unbeatable.

For the price you cant beat this pair of Sony floor speakers. I use them as my front surround speakers. They sound great. Brings the action in movies to a whole new level. The low end is not bad using the 8 inch speaker. I recommend using a sub for the real low end. Also, use at least 16 gage speaker wire.

I was going to pay more for another brand but now Im glad I didnt. I am very happy. Sony rocks.

the sony ss-f5000p floor speakers are a great deal.the black cabinet and matching grill hide some powerful speakers. I never liked small speakers, I felt they didnt have the bass i wanted. Running these babys for my surrounds really adds oomph to my system. I use the sony ssmf750h for my mains, An rca center channel speaker,A klh 100 watt sub with a 500 watt 5.1 system. The sound will blow the doors off. Crank it up and enjoy. The new sony ss-f5000p speakers are a must have for the price.

While Sony is not exactly well known for speakers, the SS-F5000s prove to be a pleasant surprise and exception. I pulled some mid-grade equipment out of storage Onkyo integrated 100wpc amp, marantz CD, Sansui tuner and wanted a bit more than my BIC Venturis as front speakers without spending any real money. I also wanted to do without my oversized sub if possible, due to space limitations. After a day or two on the net researching, I went for these SONYs on sale. All the positive reviews were right. Surprising bass , clear mids and tweeters, especially when arranged at ear level. Solid, heavy construction and attractive with or without the grill. Honestly more than I expected for anywhere near this price. Sound great, both with my 2 channel stereo setup and big screen TV. I stopped spending the big bucks on audio twenty years ago. These are not on a par with my old Dahlquist DQ10s, or magnaplanars or Klipschorns, but offer far more value, buck for buck, and thats where Im at these days. The wire connections are a bit tight and uncomfortable, and I immediately replaced the little plastic feet, but thats it for negatives. I would be surprised if you can find any more value for less than twice this price.

I just picked up four of these great speakers from Vanns to use as my main channels and surrounds for my new Onkyo TX-SR605. I upgraded from a Yamaha home theater in a box composed of satelites and two old KLH floor speakers that were being used as my mains. I kept the Yamaha subwoofer hooked up to the system to give even lower lows, but these speakers almost do not need it - they kick pretty hard for only having 8 inch woofers plus, they look great while doing it. Having full band speakers all around really improves the home theater experience and really increased the deep, rumbling bass in action sequences while still maintaining clarity in the highs. Ill eventually upgrade my rear surrounds to either the SSB3000 essentially the bookshelf version of these speakers - or the SSB1000 and my center channel to the matching Sony center channel as well in order to maintain the sound produced by these great speakers. You cant beat them for the price... they deffinately wont rumble you out of the house like a monster pair of Deffinitve speakers, but for the price, they cant be beat! THANKS VANNS!
