An issue as bad as it sounds

Anemic audio is a problem thatâ€™s sweeping the nation. Speakers that cannot reach a full range of sound, producing clear, sweet highs and deep, full bass, and cannot completely fill the rooms theyâ€™re meant to operate in have taken over home audio systems. Klipsch has re-designed their Reference series floorstanding speakers in an attempt to strike back against the menace that is unfulfilling sound. Getting on the horn

On of the main weapons that Klipsch has called on in order to further their fight against poor quality audio is the Tractrix horn driven tweeter. Since the beginning of their over 60 year fight, Klipsch has been using horn driven speakers to make their speakers more efficient, so that they are able to use a smaller amount of power to produce a greater amount of sound. The Tractrix horn is matched to its tweeter in order to produce not only excellent highs, but also better mid-range tones so that the speaker is able to create a much broader range of sound than it otherwise might be able to.

Building a better speaker

Creating excellent, long lasting audio equipment takes good materials, and Klipsch is dedicated to making speakers using materials that not only stand the test of time, but also optimize audio performance. First in their arsenal is the tweeter, which uses a stiff, lightweight titanium dome in order promote an open natural sound. The dual woofers use Cerametallic cones, or specially treated aluminum, to better dampen their sound, prevent distortion, and otherwise create a tight, controlled, yet responsive bass. The cabinet is built with a dual-ported enclosure to make sure that the speaker is able to further produce room filling bass, without wasting any power.

These are really excellent speakers. They exhibit very good depth and clarity, and it is a great pleasure to hear all of the orchestral instruments so distinctly in the classical and contemporary music I mostly listen to. I replaced a pair of Sony SS-MF750H speakers with these Klipsch speakers, and by putting them side-by-side for a subjective comparison, I would rate them to be five times better than the ones made by Sony. That makes them worth every penny. The Klipsch speakers are supposedly 8db more efficient than the Sony speakers, so I discovered that I had to considerably increase the level control on my subwoofer to get things balanced properly.

A great speaker. If you are worried about sound, dont be, the RF-52ii has plenty of power. It is one of the most clear speakers i have heard. My room is a 12 X 12 but is completely opened to the kitchen and dining room. These speakers fill the whole space very nicely.

Good price, shipping was fast. The klipsch speakers are amazing. This is my 4th rf82 ii ordered from vanns and I just love these speakers. Highly recommended. I love shopping at vanns. However this time, my speaker arrived without a leg and it has been more than a month and I havent receive the part yet. Very disappointing experience this time.

I bought a pair of RF-52 IIs to replace a pair of ICON Series V-36 speakers. While these speakers are smaller than their predecessors, the quality of the sound is much better. Particularly highs are no longer strident. This is not as noticeable with video material, but for music these are superior speakers.

The titanium tweeter of these speakers is much smoother and sweeter than the aluminum tweeter of their predecessors. Since we use the speakers as much for music as for video, this is particularly important to us.

I am happy with the speakers and for the prompt and informative service from Dustin at Vanns. I would recommend these speakers as exceptional in their price range.

I recently decided to burn a hole in my pocket and Klipsch seemed the way to go! These speakers the RF62s are amazing! Shipping was quick and they sound wonderful, you just cant go wrong with Klipsch. I have them wired bi-pole to my Marantz 6005 receiver and the highs are crisp the lows are deep and the mids are solid!

A great speaker. I am hearing new details. The soft sounds softer and the loud louder. Very efficient. Great recordings sound even better, and bad ones worse. I still prefer my Fortes for music, but these are terrific for movies.

Must start this off by saying I never heard these speakers prior to them arriving in my house. I only used the reviews on this and other websites to make my decision. These speakers are crystal clear and stay perfect through 120 dbs. I was worried the bass would be overpowering but thats not the case. The cabinet is well crafted and although taller than I wanted they look sleek and not at all bulky. They compliment my powered Klipsch rw-500D and B&W center well. great deal you will love them.

I love these speakers. I have a 9.2 system built around them. I never knew that you could have such a movie or music experience at home. With a full 5.1 system properly matched and powered you will only go to the movie theater for a date. These speakers have it all. I was also impressed with the RF-7s but the price difference was just a little much. These speakers are the best value in the line. I wish Klipsch still made RF-83s but this is as good as it gets these days. Start with these speakers and build your system around them. I have the RF-82 fronts, RC-62 center, RS-52 surrounds, RB-81 rear surrounds, RB-61 Audessey wides, and a rt-12d and SVS PC-12 for subs. The system is worth multiples of full retail. I can put in a concert dvd or blu-ray and am magically there. Just go for it. You wont regret it.

Ill keep it short and sweet... These are great speakers with the right Receiver they are Amazing... Everyone is asking the same Question are they that much better then RF-82... The answer is yes. They are noticeably better . You will here the difference right away. Had RF-82 now are very happy with the series II .. Thx Ryan for your help

I have had over a dozen different klipsch speakers and am happy to now have my first of the klipsch reference flagship. I have to say these are most impressive. Instead of the thin deep cabinets of the rf-83, the rf-7ii is a stout beast boasting two 10 drivers the size of dinner plates. Being the second series of the rf-7 in this decade, this speaker is refined and a home theater enthusiasts dream. Not to mention they are highly capable of bringing a rock concert into your home. All the other klipsch reference speakers are really great but these are the best. Do yourself a favor and get the RF-7ii from vanns.

Cons Binding posts are not as high of quality as last years reference line. Also they chose to do pegs on the grill of the rf-7ii instead of magnets.

At first I wasnt sure either I should go with the Definitive Technology BP supertowers or these Klipsch references. After auditioning at several audio stores, Ive came down with the decision to go with these Klipschs. I am a heavy Jazz, classical listener, and to me these are the speakers that gets the Job done. For example, the tone of the piano are articulate and clean, isolated from other instruments yet done blends very well with the overall music. To all those wondering what speaker to get for yourself, here is the general guide line If you are more of a instrumental music listener, Klipsch will give you the best experience IMO over other manufacturers of the same class. They however, tend to be brighter and some people have a hard time liking this quality of the speakers. As far as Home theater goes, klipsch also does a very good job, however, when it comes to home theater the choices are vast. Overall, the reference II series truely deliver powerful, clean and bright sound. And there are not a second manufacturer that gives this quality at this price point.

These are just amazing speakers. The clarity from Klipsch is unrivaled, and coming from the small Quintet satellites I had before, these RF-52 IIs are amazing. Quite frankly its better than any THEATER experience Ive had. I admit that positioning is rather important with these horn loaded tweeters, but if you can position them well and youre in the sweet spot I guarantee youll be amazed. The soundstage is EXPANSIVE, and just with stereo sound I keep on thinking my center channel is on! If you close your eyes and just listen you will be transported to another place. I wonder how people can go on watching movies with TV speakers? This is one of the best investments Ive ever made.

all i can say is ,this speakers are the best,i have the rf35 as surround and let me tell you ,the clarity of these towers are fenominal. you would have to listen to your cds and dvds again so you can hear all the instruments that with other speakers you never heard.

The RF-82 are definatly the sweet spot of the reference line. Crisp clear highs, well mix mids and hard lows. I've had theses speakers for a few weeks now and I haven't found anything they struggle with. They fill the room with clean bright sound, imaging is supurb, Make sure you run a higher end reciver with theses...and you wont be disapointed. They are super efficent that means it doesnt take alot of power to fill the room with music. All I can say is I definatly love theses speakers whether its watching a movie or relaxing to music. I seriously don't think there is a better speaker in the price range. Keep in mind they are big speakers so make sure you have the room! if you do you def won't be disapointed. If you can catch them in stock get some! they do sell out fast! Vanns was awesome great price and still cant belive how fast they got here Orderd weds afternoon was at my door fri morning TY guys.

i received this speakers yesterday, and all i can say is that the sound is incredible . is very very detailed and with the matching center chanel the rc64II all i can say is omg. i have the rf35 front and rears and i wanted to make it a 7.1 surround and let me tell you is a huge difference. and also i want to thank vanns for their awsome prices. if i went somewhere else ,i coulnt affort the center chanel thats all i can say, or maybe afforted the complete system at all. thanks RICK!!!!

The speakers are wonderful, producing clear brilliant sound, especially when playing music. A note about Vanns service whereas other sellers will simply slap a shipping label on the manufacturers box, everything Ive ever ordered from Vanns has come double-boxed with shock absorbing material between the two. The 3 speakers I ordered arrived in perfect shape.

For the last 4 years I had the Klipsch Synergy home theater set which was nice, but definitely left me wanting more. For weeks I went through reviews and forums trying to decide what my next set of speakers would be. Finally after speaking with the wonderful sales people at Vann’s I decided to make the leap to the RF-7 II, and I can’t believe I ever hesitated to buy these. Given the price they were more than I originally wanted to spend, but after a week I can say without a doubt they were worth every penny!
These are the only speakers I have hooked up to an Pioneer Elite SC-37 amp. I used them for everything from Rap, Hip-Hop, and Techno to Classical music and they sound AMAZING. I have watched two movies so far and have heard details that I never knew were there. These speakers have completely changed my entire listening experience!

Strengths
The clarity of these speakers is incredible re-listening to songs and CDs is like a whole new experience. The mid is full and the bass is very tight. The cabinets are incredibly sturdy… unfortunately my graceful UPS driver knocked one of the speakers off the back of the truck and it wasn’t even slightly damaged.

Weaknesses
The only weaknesses I would give to this speaker would be weight and size. The speakers weigh like 90lbs which is a tribute to their sturdy construction, but it’s heavy nonetheless. As for size be prepared… these are big ones.

I just received these great looking speakers yesterday. So, far, I love the sound. Had to put in a cd to rock out. They mainly will be used for movies, tv, etc, to complete my surround system. I have no complaints, they are fairly slim, and sleek. Glad that I chose these speakers!!

I have been a Klipsch owner Forte II for twenty years. I appreciate that the RF82s do not color the sound, allowing each instrument to be heard clearly and distinctly. They are excellent for listening to vocal recordings also. I replaced my prior speakers with the RF82s because of improvements in technology and I am very pleased with my choice. I am planning to upgrade my center channel unit with a Klipsch because of the experience with the Klipsch RF82s.
