This is my second PSLX250H and can only say that I am happy to got it. I looked all over here in the City and could not find one because nobody uses them anymore.I am surprised with the function and can only say it is not a waste to buy it. The sound is good like my first one. For the money I spend it was a good deal. Thanks to Vanns. I plan to buy more from you. Now I can play all my records upstairs and downstairs of my home. I have a lot of CDs but the sound of a vinal record is different and softer.
And if I need a belt or a needle I can now depend on Vanns service. Thanks again.

I was very pleased with the quality of the sound of this turntable. Excellent value for money and very easy to use. The RCA cable was a bit too short though, so i had to pay for an extension cable, but apart from that an excellent record player!

The pre-amp and automatic operation makes life a lot easier, and the buttons on the front are very easy to use!

Great with a computer

I have the Sony PS-250H running into my computer's soundcard and it sounds great. The switchable eq means you don't need a seperate phono preamp. I'm using Microsoft's 'Analog Recorder' software to convert my Lps, part of the $15 Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition and I couldn't be happier. Great Deal!

Easy setup, comes already with turntable to receiver wire hookups. This is recommended to buy from Vanns. I purchased this online 'on sale' and it was 33 cheaper than down the street at the common known electronic store. Shipping was free and it took about 5 days. So hold on for a week and buy it here. You will not be disapointed.

I had a Sony turntable that was broken during a move and needed to be replaced. I purchased and returned several in store models that were broken or broke even before installing. This product was purchaed on-line and arrived in perfect condition, was easy to install - just plug in the wires to the 'aux' plugs in the receiver - and intuitive to use. The sound quality is good and the automatic arm return and turntable shutoff is convenient. The arm is movable manually. I like this better than the automatic arm I had before which required a bit of manuevering before landing on the right spot on the record since the automatic arm was prone to breakage. Overall this product is a great value for the price.

I needed a turntable to transfer some old 3313 Vinyls to CD's via my CD recorder. The Sony PS-LX250H proved to be the answer.

This unit has a built in pre-amp that provided the ability to direct input to the CD recorder. I was able to record to the CD recorder with no problem. The Sony Unit,with its automatic

operation worked with out a hitch. The Sony unit is A OK with me.

Low price, free shipping and no tax are three good reasons to never shop in the local big box stores again but as a veteran professional working in the audio business I was a little apprehensive about the quality of a turntable that cost so little. I have hundreds of LPs I wanted to transfer to CD - this product does everything I need except for play 78s.

The built in preamp sounds good if not even warm, unlike a far more expensive Stanton turntable I previously bought elsewhere and returned which sounded horrific! The line outputs are perfect for connecting to any type of interface for computers I use a MOTU 828 Firewire interface and bring the LPs into the digital domain recording with Digital Performer on a Mac. I was worried that the automatic tone arm mechanism might be noisy, but it was not. I feared that the needle and cartridge would be inferior sounding, but it sounds perfectly fine, though this is a record player and you will get scratches and pops occasionally depending on the condition of your records. I was originally looking for a direct drive turntable because I used to have a very high quality Philips table that was belt driven, but after years went by I could no longer find replacement belts for it and didn't want to go through that again, but at such a low cost who can argue too much? If in ten years I can't find a belt, buy another one! Though I also feel that a brand llike Sony may have better long term parts support.

In conclusion, the value of this turntable exceeds it's cost by a long shot as far as I am concerned. Now I only have to spend the next several years capturing my collection into the digital domaiin!

The turntable is performing flawlessly and my old albums have never sounded better. Vann's was great to deal with, including advising me when the product became available again from a previous back-order.

The only minor problem with the turntable is a somewhat loud mechanical 'clank' sound when you push the 'Start' button. Would not have noticed this, but the 'Stop' button is completely silent when it is activated. Otherwise, great product and value. I have located after-market stylus and belt for the player as well which is important for continued good performance.

My mother is in her 80's has a 40's style huge stero cabinet, her turn table no longer worked so we got this for her and I hooked it up where the old one was. I was absolutely amazed at how quick we were responded to on our order and how fast we received the turn table, in fact in time for Mother's Day which we just didn't see any way without paying the extra charges for shipping.

It is hooked up and she is really enjoying listening to her oldies again on vinyl.

Most Bang for Your Buck

At first I was a bit suspicious about buying a unit that included everything but costs so little, but I have zero complaints. First of all, it cost me a lot less at Vann's than at BestBuy OR Circuity City. Shipping was free and only took a week. It took about 30 seconds to set up and another 30 seconds to hook up to my stereo. While you can use an amp, the built-in pre-amp makes life quite easy. Just hook it up to any stereo with a videoaux jack. Its fully automatic so just press the start button and enjoy. It also has all the features a vinyl listener will need.

As an avid music listener I can say that while the sound quality isn't Lenco, one couldn't hope for a better sound and if you really want to, you can always opt to buy a higher quality needle. The only thing I would have liked this unit to have is pitch control, but for this price, couldn't expect more.

This is a good, basic turntable. Not fancy but economical. I purchased it to tranfer lp's to my computer and was able to plug it directly into the computer. The sound quality is quite good after all, they're still vinyl. I have found no serious drawbacks. Not for the diehard serious audiophile but excellent for the average person.

Nice old but new addition to your home theatre system. My wife found her old records as her mother was cleaing out her house. She mentioned numerous times about having nothing to play them on. Although you can probably find every artist on cd or mp3 by now, theres nothing like that old LP with all the static to bring you back to your youth. Sony continues to produce these almost extinct items with the quality and dependability you can expect. My wife is thrilled to death and this turntable is as simple as it gets, plug in the power, plug in the RCA cables to you stereos auxiliary jack or phono jack and turn on or off the internal amp, simple as pie. With the one touch play buttons all you do is select the speed and record size, then hit play, the arm swings out and it does the rest all by itself, even turns itself off when the record is over, not even a power switch to mess with, great product with easy to use features. Directions could be clearer for the few assembly parts and operation, but if you can open the box, your almost there.

My old Dual turntable had gone bad and wasn't worth a trip to the repair shop. Sight unseen, the cost of this Sony model was worth a try. Inexpensive and easy to put together. Easy to operate, since us older babyboomers can't read those tiny black buttons on some of the newer stereo equipment. And compact in size, since it had to fit in a cabinet where the old Dual had been. Took me back a few years to listen to those old LPs again. Vann's shipping was great! I ordered at 2 PM and Vann's had it on the FedEx truck before 5 PM.

This is an excellent turntable for the money, short rca cables aside. My old turntable was in excellent condition except it was missing a dust cover and it had no preamp. This was fine until I decided to upgrade my reciever/tuner to a new home theatre type. I have yet to find a good reciever in the home theatre category that has a phono input, maybe the manufactures just assume that if one appreciates digital sound they would have no desire to listen to the clean, warm sound of analog through the same system. Well I wanted to do just that and this turntable with it's built in preamp made it possible. Another great thing about this unit is that the preamp can be turned off if your reciever/tuner does have a phono input. Again this model was a great deal and with the free shipping it was even more attractive to me.

This is just the perfect product for a basic unit. It does a wonderful job of playing my old records. The only problen I had with the hook-up , was the lenght of the phono connection wire and plugs. I had to cut a snall hole in the divider wall between my tuner and where the turntable sits. But that was my problem, and not the fault of Sony. The unit makes my old records sound better then they have for years, and this is a great unit for the money.

The Sony PS-LX250H turntable is an inexpensive turntable which provides the basic features needed to play my favorite 33 and 45 rpm vinyls again. The unit is very easy to setup. The turntable controls are intuitively easy to understand, and did not require use of the manual to start spinning the tunes. The unit's performance is been excellent. I highly recommend it as an excellent turntable for the money.

I was pleasantly surpised with the sound quality from my old records as played through the Sony PS-LX250H purchased from Vann's. It was very easy to set up and use and feel it is an excellent value for the money. My only criticsm is that the tone arm comes down on the turntable to abruptly, causing an annoying "pop" as the needle hits the record.
