Suitable for living rooms, dorm rooms or most anywhere you'd like to enjoy music and movies, these speakers take up a minimal amount of space and blend nicely with your decor. They also integrate seamlessly with the VCS-10 center channel speaker speaker and with the Bose 301® and other Direct/Reflecting® speakers for a five-speaker home theater experience.
Direct/Reflecting® Speaker Technology
At a live performance, much of the sound you hear is reflected off the walls, ceiling and floor. Only a small percentage (about 11 percent) reaches you directly. It's this combination of reflected and direct sound that makes live music sound live. With conventional speakers, virtually all of the sound is radiated directly into the room. Much of the spaciousness of the live performance is lost. Direct/Reflecting® speaker technology can recreate the ratio of reflected and direct sound similar to what you hear at a live concert. As a result, you experience the power, impact and emotion of a live performance in your home.
Stereo Targeting Tweeters
These proprietary drivers are engineered to direct mid to high frequencies to a wide, stable area between the speakers. Used in these Direct/Reflecting® speakers, they help create a sense of lifelike spaciousness and let you hear full stereo throughout the listening area.

Okay...bought 301s in 1975. I listen to music, and download music constantly, and have played in several bands...started playing guitar at the age of 5...have to have a quality sound for peace of mind, and the soothing of the soul...I run a 7.1 system, and had intended on running the 301s as a rear speaker. However, I decided to try them as mains, and now, my Yamaha towers I thought sounded so good are my Back Surround speakers. I just ordered the Bose Acoustimass 5s for my left and right surround...I can hardly wait for them to get here. I run a dedicated power subwoofer, and the punch is there with the Bose to accent. Dont be afraid of the 301s...theyre awesome. It takes a little time to find the proper adjustments when you add stuff to your system, and some have no clue of what to do...Buy the 301s if you cannot buy the 901s...as I did for budget...awesome speakers for the price...I love them! Five Star all the way.

I have owned the Bose 301 V for about 6 months and I love them. I am using them as rear surround speakers some 120 watt 3 way Sonys as my front. I have a Kenwood 10 inch 200 Watt sub that rocks. I have really enjoy the 301 addition. Their ability to fill the room with crisp, clean, full sounds is a delight to the ear. Doesnt really matter what Im listening to whether it be music or movies, it all sounds great. I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for rear or bookshelf speakers that amaze!

Nicely balanced stereo performance. On jazz, most classic rock, spanish guitar, instrumental music and other soft music. -Lacks low-end bass, but does not distort at peak volume. -Over sized midtweeter twiddler, opens up smoothly takes on human vocals, string and wind instruments with much detail and clarity.

Anyone that owns a Bose product, knows of the quality, sound, and enjoyment that the product brings. I moved from a small apartment to a house and wanted to upgade to larger speakers for my home theater system due to the increase in room size. The 201 series V, more than met my expectations!
I previously used one of the Bose double cubed systems that more than adequately did the job, but these speakers took my system to a new level! The full sound of the direct reflecting Bose speakers filled the room with a richness that makes my friends envious. The 201 size is not intrusive or obstructive they fit nicely on a shelf, on a stand, or even on the floor behind or under furniture.
There are cheaper brands of speakers but, for the price, size, and enormous sound that the 201's possess it is heads above the rest.

These babies rock-and I mean rock.I have two 601 1V'S also and they don't even come close to these.The 301v's are better than most speakers costing up to four times as much.I also have the new polk rti10's and the 301v's are just behind in music qualitydurability.Thanks bose for the 301v, but not the 601IV.

I have a set of 301's in my Living Room for the enjoyment of stereo listening. With the surround sound and everything else in life it is nice to sit back and listen to a nice clear sound in sterro. The Bose 301's deliver a crips clean stereo sound that many have gotten away from. I have tried several differant speakers in this room for this purpose and Bose delivers. No TV, no surround sound in my living room, just stereo music. I recommend them when you have a large enogh space to enjoy them. By the way I do have Bose Acoustimas for my surround sound system in my media room. Bose works great in the there also. In addition my Benz also has 10 speaker Bose system in it. You could say I like Bose.

Many of my friends had recommended these speakers. The sound is amazing! I wanted high quality speakers for listening to music, so I had no need for surround sound speakers. With these two speakers, connected in with my Sony receiver, the sound is crystal clear. There is no distortion, even at max volume, which of course I had to test. - They don't take up much room, look nice, and sound awesome.
