I purchased these for front speakers in a new home theater system. I think that for the money they are one heck of a good deal. They sound great, I havent really cranked up the volume yet. I am letting them get broken in. They dont have the biggest bass sound, but I run a subwoofer. The bass thing to me is a very small problem, home theater systems need a sub. I really dont know how you can go wrong for the money. You would have to spend a bunch more money to get anything more. I moved a set of Polk Audio speakers to rear speakers. I wanted to be able to spend more on the TV and receiver right now. I thought that the speakers could be upgraded later. I dont have to do that with these.

I called from canada and arranged everything over the phone. I drove 3 hours to get to the store. When i got there everthing was ready, no lost invoices or the typical i didnt take your order so i dont know whats going on routine. The salesman was great, friendly and helpfull. He took the speakers out to the car and they would not fit in the trunk. No problem, he removed them from the box and carefully fitted them in the trunk of the car.He even shook my hand. The whole thing took 15 minutes. .Thank you very much and i will definately be spending more money at this store.

This is the first new speakers that I had bought in about 10 years. I did not have alot of money to spend of high dollar speakers and after reading up on what was out there in a decent price range, I choose the Sony SS-MB750's. They are a nice looking speaker and after hooking these up to my surround system, I am impressed. The high and mid sounds are crisp and clean, and I can even turn my powered sub down abit and still get good bass responce. I can't think of another speaker in this price range that can come close to matching these. Now I might have to get the rear surrounds and center to match the 750's. You will not regret buying these speakers..

Just received my Sony MF750H speakers from Montana this morning. I couldn't be more happy with these speakers. These replaced some Infinity ES 83's I bought in 1986, the foam had disintegrated around the speakers. I cannot believe what I have been missing. I don't think you can buy a better sounding speaker for the money. As for this Montana company, my brother has been one of their customers for a while and suggested I check them out. I am sure glad I did, they had the best price and excellent service. Shipped out the same day I ordered, thanks Montana Company!!! These Sony 750's and a Montana Company are absolutely Top Notch!!! I bought these Sony SS-MF750H floorstanding speakers to replace my old Technics SB-L200 speakers. I was afraid that the new style of floorstanding speakers would not have the same bass as my old ones. But these SS-MF750H blew me away, they are 100 times what I expected. The range and the clarity of the sound is astounding. The footprint is small but the sound is huge. Sony has outdone itself with these. I like everything about them, and dislike nothing. These speakers are a must-have for someone with a budget, although with the way these SS-MF750H sound, I doubt you'd buy anything else no matter the price.
Shopping with Vanns.com was very reassuring, and the shipping was as noted. I'll be coming back for more!

I must admit I was leary of ordering these speakers throught the internet but everything went just great! The speakers got here just when Vann's said they would and they were in perfect shape.
Plus, the speakers sound great. I am no audiophile but I do know what sounds good and these do a great job! I hooked them up with my Sony KM597 receiver, popped in the DVD 'Band of Brothers', and the sound was incredible. The woofers handled the bass in this movie with no problem. I am tickled to death with them and the price makes it all the better. Other brands that I looked into at retail stores were 2 to 4 times the price of these. I rate these speakers and the service at Vann's excellent!

I received a pair of these speakers without any problems. Ordering, shipping, and of course, cost was excellent through Vann's. The sound experienced with these speakers is crisp and exact. My husband and I hear more frequency range with these than our previous Boston Acoustics model. I was listening to a CD the other day and thought what is that sound--it was on the track I was listening to. The speakers actually picked up even the faintest sound not heard before by me. These speakers were given a high rating by a consumer magazine, and I can attest to their great quality as well.

I am extremely happy with these speakers. I was little skeptical about buying speakers from SONY, because their past models left a lot to be desired. Any audio professional would suggest staying away from SONY audio equipment, especially their receivers. Hearing and being able to check out several older models of SONY speakers I have to admit I could not believe these SS-MF750H speakers came from SONY. I was considering buying Polk R50 speakers instead, but their design would not match the rest of my home theater. After doing a little research on SONY's speakers and finding out that SONY hired previous Polk Audio employee, I decided to go with SONY.
I could not be happier with my choice. These speakers have an excellent response across the full range, very high sensitivity of 90db and deliver nice clean balanced bass all the way down to 35Hz but their overall output seems to be little more dependent on the receiver they are being matched with. I have noticed that if they are to be matched w surround receiver it is best if the receiver allows you to adjust the bass and treble tone balance for the fronts while in surround mode otherwise any frequency cutoff or surround mode will take away a lot from the range response these speakers are capable of delivering. With little tweaking of my surround receiver and redirecting the bass to the front speakers, I no longer need a subwoofer especially for listening to stereo audio tracks. For surround movie soundtracks I still prefer using the subwoofer for greater impact in action scenes.
These speakers have a nice simple but very sleek design and are very easy to match with existing home audio equipment. They also come in nice full wood cabinets with screw type binding posts accommodating any speaker cable connections available.
They are excellent and maybe the best value for the price, however there are better speakers out there if you're willing to spend at least twice as much. If you own a stereo receiver the sound from these speakers will blow you away and if you have a graphic equalizer these speakers can deliver a lot more if properly tweaked for your room acoustics setup.
However if you plan to use these in surround setup, you may notice that they no longer sound the same especially if the bass is redirected to the subwoofer and they may be little harder to match with other speakers.
Overall they still are one of the best values for the money and for SONY speakers they really deliver. If you are building your first stereo or home theater system think no more and get these speakers, you will not be disappointed.
Also Vanns rules, great customer service, fast shipping!

These speakers are a tremendous value. I listended to Bose, Yamaha and JBL before deciding on the Sony's. There's no way I could justify the competitor's price premium's relative to their sound. I'm using these Sony's as 'B' mains in another room and they sound great without a subwoofer. The overall construction quality seems very good-I'm sure the sound quality will only improve over time-they're not yet quite up to the same sounds produced by my vintage 11 year old Advent Heritage mains-but they come real close! My only gripe is that the speakers are not supplied with screw on corner extensions like some competitors do. Despite this very minor detail the Sony SS MF750H's are a great tower speaker value. Way to go Sony!!

I bought these speakers with some trepidation after reading CReports ratings. They have exceeded my expectations and are a terrific value. I have them connected to an Onkyo TX-8511 and they handle all that they are given in terms of volume, bass, and clarity. These speakers are slim, good-looking, and most of all fine performers for all my rock and roll needs. Don't hestitate to buy these as they are well worth the low cost and easily compare to 'designer' speakers which will cost you at least twice as much. Rock on, Sony!

I needed a good set of floor speakers on a budget, and after reading favorable reviews I chose these. I had borrowed a pair of Polk RTi8 tower speakers, which compared to the sony's had much clearer and louder highs and mids. The Polk's were superior but they also cost $800 a pair compared with under $300 for the Sony's. The bass output of the Sony's is very impressive, much better than the polks which realy could have used a subwoofer. I use them in my apt at college and they are great for parties. I run them with an Onkyo TX-8511 amplifier at high volume for hours at a time and have had no problems. They are the best sounding speakers I have heard in this price range.
For the money these are a great set of speakers if your not an audiophile and are looking for some speakers that sound great and can handle a lot of power. If your a more demanding listener and want something with more mids and highs sound spend a lot more money and get a higher quality speaker. I'm giving them a 4 because they are a great sounding speaker for the money. Overall I give them a 5 becuase they are a quality speaker and you get more than you pay for with them.

These speakers are good, but pale in comparison to Klipsch and even JBL. The mid-range just isn't there. The woofers perform well for the price range, but the mid-range makes you wish you spent more. Try comparing these directly to another brand and you'll see. Sony makes a line of Extended-Definition speakers for their quality line. These are budget speakers.

These speakers dispel the notion that good quality must be accompanied by a high price tag. They produce true-to-life sound and clear, deep bass. Although I use them primarily as a stereo pair for listening to music, I have no doubt that they would perform great as the front pair in a surround system. The speakers are also handsome, being slender black towers with gray front grillles.

So...I purchase these Sony speakers. I'm very happy with it. The bass, mid, and treb are very well balanced. I was going to buy the Klipsch SF-2 or the Bose 601. Both are very good but costs so much more. I have heard the Bose 601 speakers at Circuit City...I'm not impressed especially for $600. I'm sure the Klipsch would sound better, but how much better? For $600, I can buy another set of these speakers and a pair of center speakers and have an awesome surround sound system. Lesson learned power subwoofer and satellites can never replicate the sound of full size speakers.

I must say that these speakers are some of the best sounding speakers I have owned. They deliver Crisp, Clear, Accurate Sound. I Rate these Speakers a 5/5 for the following reasons: Small Footprint, Excellent Freq. Response, Clarity of Sound, Price. I also very much likes that instead of the basic push pin wire connections at the back there was instead a firmly made screw out binding post, Banana Plug Capable. They are a excellent Value. These Speakers I would say in my opinion rate up next to Speakers costing twice as much.
