I purchased the Kef iQ1s approximately 2 months ago, along with a Velodyne VX-10 subwoofer. All I can say is WOW! Ive owned many systems over the last 30 years or so and I must say that this rig equals or betters many Ive owned that cost many times what I paid for these. I was looking for a system that would be compatible and enhance the sound of my vintage Pioneer stereo system-I got exactly what I was looking for. The Kefs, after a few days of break in , gave me the smooth ,extended sound I was after. The highs were clear and powerful without being overbright and the midrange too was very smooth. The bass was quite good, but I chose to augment it even more with the Velodyne sub. I listen alot to old LP records on my PL518 turntable with a Shure m97xe cartridge and these speakers have done an excellent job.They have done an equally good job with digital sources. This system replaces an Infinity system that I have used for a couple of years,but I was never completely happy with the sound quality,especially with my Pioneer rig. Highs always seemed a bit over the top and could never quite smooth out or blend the bass. I think anybody looking for smooth highs and mids, along with decent bass in a small attractive package would be hard pressed to find a better value than the KEF iQ1. The walnut vinyl finish was a real plus for this system because it exactly matches the walnut veneer on my Pioneer equipment. Overall, Id say the price I paid and the quality build and sound quality of the KEFs more than met my needs and has satisfied my quest for a system to match the quality of my Pioneer equipment.
