One for the books
The Boston Acoustics VS 260 bookshelf speaker is in a musical class by itself. Classy and compact, it can easily fit anywhere in your home — on a bookshelf, table, or moved to where the party is. What can you expect from the VS260? World-rocking, soul-shaking tunes and the same full, rich sound that you would from a larger, floorstanding speaker. A full-range transducer, made from Organic Composite Cone Material, allows for responsveness and minimizes resonances for an overall clearer, deeper bass. Combine that with Boston Acoustic's Super Wide Bandwith high-frequency tweeter and you also get full sound at high output levels. The VS 260's cabinet is made from several layers of different types of wood, resulting in a strong and stable enclosure that optimizes acoustic performance.

I recently upgraded from Energy RC-10 bookshelves. I wanted a more better soundstage and more clarity. I havent seen many reviews for these speakers but for the closeout price and from the reviews I could find I was persuaded to buy them. First the sound clarity and quality is amazing. These are EXTREMELY neutral speakers, so neutral that you could swear the singer or orchestra is playing right in front of you. There is not one hint of color in these speakers in terms of sound. I am actually amazed these speakers have not gotten TONS of reviews. These speakers LOVE to play loud. In fact the louder you play them the more detail you can hear and the BETTER they sound. The soundstage is HUMONGOUS you can hear many things. Things I never knew existed I could hear from these speakers with ease. Be sure you have at least a reputable receiver with good amplification. If you are using these with 5.1 system be sure to get a REALLY good receiver. If you are only buying these for stereo than most receivers will be fine. I will say these are the BEST speakers for the closeout price they are being offered for. You will NOT be able to find a better speaker for the price. You WILL be amazed from these speakers. I can not believe I am the first person to right a review for these on Vanns.

After reviewing speakers for over 2 years, I decided on the BA VS series and WOW, what a difference these make over my bose 301s, v-10 center, etc. Im running them on a low-end Sony 770 watt receiver and they still sound awesome. The 260s are very large bookshelf speakers which is why some HT magazines have these as fronts too. As I purchased the VS-336s, I am not usually these rears to their full potential, but the price at VANNS cant be beat-at least not on these. Thanks VANNS.
