I listened to numerous other speakers and seriously considered ordering the Infinity TSS-1200s. However, I decided to go with the Beta 40s again and slowly build a sound system around them rather than spring for the TSS-1200s. Overall, you get superior sound quality from floor standing speakers when compared to satellite systems. The craftsmanship is top notch. Ive never seen such high quality construction on speakers in this price range. Everything is solidly constructed. The grills are all metal and very sturdy. The sound quality is also top notch. The Beta 40s get along fine without a sub but if you want some real bass I would recommend getting an additional sub. Apparently the Beta 50s throw out more bass but are less responsive in the high and mid ranges. Most people seem to prefer the 40s over the 50s due to the responsiveness issue. Bottom line Seriously, grab these speakers. You wont be disappointed.

I am not an audiophile but I do know what I think sounds good. These speakers sound awesome. I checked around reading online reviews and message boards and heard lots of positive feedback about these speakers - they were right on. I have these set up in a 2.1 system more speakers on the way with a Klipsch SUB-12 and Denon 2807CI and they sound fantastic for both movies and music. For the price, I dont think they can be beat.
