The Klipsch Sound Experience
The Klipsch Reference Series RB-61 has captured all the thrills and intensity of a floorstanding loudspeaker in a new, attractive bookshelf model. The RB-61 may be compact, but it packs a dynamite sound -- full of power, detail, and emotion. This bookshelf model is one of the highest performing and most affordable loudspeakers Klipsch has ever introduced. Sit back and witness the demise of compromise.
What's Inside
The new, compact RB-61 bookshelf loudspeaker can fill a room with brilliant, soulful sound because it incorporates Klipsch's flagship technology, and it does it at an affordable price that everyone can appreciate. At the heart of these speakers is the same compression driver technology used in Klipsch professional cinema speakers. Their extraordinary design, featuring a Tractrix Horn and Cerametallic Cones, delivers clarity, efficiency, power handling, freedom from distortion, and reliability that sets new standards for home speaker systems. High-quality internal wiring is used to ensure superior connection from the voice coils all the way to the electronics. The RB-61 is a loudspeaker that truly lets you hear through to the original performance, to experience every detail and feel all the emotion.
Tractrix What?
Molded into a sculpted, low-diffraction baffle, the RB-61's 6 inch Tractrix Horn tweeter delivers effortlessly detailed midrange and treble. The Tractrix Horn's carefully calculated flare dramatically increases driver efficiency, allowing production of very high sound levels with minimal amplifier power and no strain or distortion. It also controls the sound's directivity (90 degrees horizontal x 60 degrees vertical dispersion), ensuring excellent coverage of the listening area while minimizing detail-obscuring reflections off of walls, floor, and ceiling. Fed by a smooth, accurate titanium-dome tweeter, the Tractrix Horn is the key to the vibrantly realistic, emotionally compelling Klipsch Sound Experience.
Bass To Brag About
So much more than just a pretty face, the RB-61's rugged Cerametallic Cone woofer with its massive, video-shielded magnet generates deep, powerful bass. Its distinctive anodized-aluminum -- and oh-so-pretty --copper-colored cone exhibits a very high stiffness-to-mass ratio and superb damping characteristics that translate to outstanding responsiveness and near-total absence of resonance and breakup. The result is quick, clean, articulate low-frequency reproduction. A rigid cast frame -- far superior to conventional stamped-steel baskets -- maintains perfect alignment of the large, high-temperature voice coil. Beauty and beast, all in one speaker, yes!
Better Heard And Seen
These bookshelf speakers are finished in luxurious hardwood veneers and constructed, like all Reference Series models, to the highest standard throughout. From the drivers to the cabinets to the crossovers, cabling, and electronics, everything is built to deliver maximum performance for many years to come. Capable of filling any room with rich, full-range sound, the elegant, wood-veneered RB-61 is a tasteful complement to other furniture. It stands out in performance and blends in to your decor.
Simple Set Up
Installing the RB-61 is a breeze. It has a front-mounted, flared port to facilitate placement in a cabinet or against a wall. The RB-61 also has a back-panel keyhole for flush mounting to a wall and a threaded insert for attachment to popular adjustable wall and ceiling brackets. You won't have to worry; you won't even have to read the instructions.

I have to admit I was somewhat let down at first with these speakers. They sounded good but that was it just good. Then I finally received my order of rewiring supplies and used the bi-amp method of hook up on them. Now they sound WONDERFUL!! I did not realize what a difference it could make.

I purchased this pair of RB61 Klipsch loudspeakers over a year ago and have had no complaints. For all four years of high school I have run the sound for all performances at a school know as a leader in performing arts. I chose these speakers after detailed research on spec sheets and in store testing. I truly believe that these speakers are worth the money although it can be out of budget for some. If you are looking for speakers that you can clearly enjoy the crisp sound of higher frequencies while still being able to rock a party with the bass which is not at all a nuisance while not attempting such a feat these are the speakers for you.
Buy them. Now or as soon as possible.

These speakers are nothing short of extraordinary. They do an amazing job of filling the room with sound coupled with my 10 ksw sub. These arent floor standing speakers so I would certainly recommend a sub when building a system around these for front channels. They are Bi-wire compatible and you can certainly tell the difference when wired that way. I have been a huge klipsch fan since my first set of promedia 2.1s. You will not be disappointed with these especially with smaller rooms. For larger rooms go with a floorstanding speaker.

I had the opportunity to listen to the RB61 series from Klipsch with a RW-12d subwoofer and compared them to many others in different price and size categories. I started with the RB51 - which sounds great for its size. When I switched to the RB61 there was a major difference on lower end bass. While they can not reproduce the deep bass that a sub can, they will fill in the gap. Higher end frequencies are handled by their Tractrix Horn. That horn alone sets it apart from others which utilize other tweeters. It reproduces highs so clear it can make your eyes water. In addition, since it will be placed a little higher than most floor standing speakers you dont loose your high frequencies on a vertical axis.
I compared them to some Vienna Acoustics equal in size but cost about a thousand more and noticed that there is really not much difference between the two except the Klipsch had a tighter low end. Some may argue that more expensive speakers sound better. True in some cases but not all.
If you are tight on space or do not like the daunting appearance of floor standing speakers these would be a good choice for any system. They are available in Black Ash and Cherry Finishes and will not overpower most decors.
The size of the RB61 is slightly larger than most photos depict. It is 15.4 tall...Take measurements before you order!
I am very excited about these speakers and look forward to owning a pair.
