The Mirage OmniSat VT FS deserves to be part of the whole setup I opted for an 8 sub but there is also a mated 10 available. Heres the setup I recently purchased.
2 Mirage OmniSat VT FS mains
1 Mirage OmniSat V2 CC center channel
2 Mirage OmniSat V2 surround
1 Mirage S8 Powered Subwoofer
Im still waiting on the whole system hard to find here in AZ, but I installed the VT FSs last night. My first impressions were excellent.
I tested the speakers using a Yamaha Natural Sound amplifier with both room emulation and a special processor direct mode which eliminates all unnecessary circuitry, including the EQ and bass boost. I threw in my old Yamaha powered sub too dont have the S8 yet, for good measure, and tested with and without.
My favorite test track was Testaments First Strike is Deadly from First Strike Still Deadly. Every instrument was amazingly clear and defined. I heard nuances I had never noticed before, and also felt like the sound coming from each guitar was exceptionally true, as though I was standing in front of the actual amp cabinet Ive played many good guitar amplifiers and guitars. The soundstage was amazing.
I played a variety of genres- loved Norah Jones combined with the Jazz room emulation on my amplifier. Pair that with the omni-directional tweeter and the presence was vivid.
The towers are not meant for low bass, although they sound respectable. The bass sounds killer when mated with a sub, even a cheaper one as I used tonight. I cant wait to hear the matching Mirage sub. The key feature of all these speakers is a tweeter mounted upwards, which causes a 360 degree soundfield. You can definitely hear the difference.
The cabinets are beautiful brushed metal which thick glass bases. Spikes and rubber feet are included easily swappable.
Biggest complaint? even with the spikes, its hard to get a level and solid footing on carpet. I recently purchased another pair of stands used to hold KRK studio monitors, and on the same carpet they are much more stable. Its a tradeoff for the elegant but narrow footprint.
Ease of use I rate 5, because I literally plugged these speakers in and set my amplifier to flat and they sounded great.
Value, definite 5. I previewed other speakers costing nearly twice the price and found them less desirable.
Performance, 5. They simply sound great, and feature an innovative design.
Again, I cant wait to get the whole 6 piece system in place, but even if your budget or desire is just for the towers, you cant go wrong.

I bought several different models of Mirage speakers to build my home theater and whole-house audio system. This is the model I chose as left and right front. I can not believe how big a sound these things deliver. They are very slim, and I listened to another brand of tall, skinny aluminum speakers that are relitivly more expensive. IMHO, the other brand sounded okay at best - Nowhere near as good as these Mirage - and the Mirage are much less expensive! Along with movies, I listen to a lot of music and these are addictive to listen too. They engulf you in music rather than just hit you in the face with sound. Great Stuff!!!
