Tractrix What?

Tractrix Horns have always been the key component of this critically acclaimed series. In the RF-83, this technology has been refined to include improved throat geometry for a more genuine, lifelike sound. Molded into a sculpted, low-diffraction baffle, the RF-83's 8-inch Tractrix Horn tweeter delivers effortlessly detailed midrange and treble. The Tractrix Horn's carefully calculated flare dramatically increases driver efficiency, allowing production of very high sound levels with minimal amplifier power and no strain or distortion. It also controls the sound's directivity (90 degrees horizontal x 60 degrees vertical dispersion), ensuring excellent coverage of the listening area while minimizing detail-obscuring reflections off of walls, floor, and ceiling. So much more than just a pretty face, the RF-83'S rugged, TRIPLE Cerametallic Cone woofers with massive, video-shielded magnets generate deep, powerful bass. The RF83 series delivers superb sound on all frequencies. I had the chance of listening to a large number of speakers before purchasing, and even with a blind test, the Klipsch RF83 stands out above the rest.

The sound quality and clarity is so precise, Ive found myself getting up to check on the kids or the dog, because I heard a cry or whine, only to realize it was part of the background noise of one of movies I was watching. The sound is just that realistic.

I use a Onkyo HT-RC180 THX receiver with my Klipsch RF83 speakers. I also ownuse the Klipsch RC64 center channel, which is a great combination with the RF83.

I purchased my pair of Klipsch RF-83 Speakers approx. 2 year ago and shortly after wards noticed a very small indentation when the lighting was directed towards the speakers in a particular angle. I contacted the Klipsch Company and without hesitation they shipped and paid all expenses of the shipping and also the return of the speaker with the very small indentation. Afterwards Klipsch consumer relations department kept in close contact with concern that I was satisfied with everything else pertaining with my purchase of my Klipsch speakers. The deep rich quality of the highs and lows that these speakers produce is nothing short of incredible. I can either turn the volume very low or direct most of the power from my 130 watts per channel onkyo receiver with no distortion or loss of sound quality, in short these speakers are an awesome investment, and Im completely satisfied with their performance that exceed my expectations that I would expect from the Klipsch Company.
