Compact size, room-filling audio . . . plus bass
After all your hard work designing your living room's look, it's nice to sit back and relax in its clean, spacious ambiance. Relaxing would be even better, however, if you had a detailed, encompassing home audio system to reveal your favorite movie's and music's true character. The problem is that you want to introduce full, five-channel audio without impinging upon your living room's style and comfort. Matching five two-way satellite speakers featuring patented Omnipolar® technology with a powered 8" subwoofer, the 5.1-channel Nanosat 5.1 home audio system delivers just that: an enveloping, 360° soundstage from five compact speakers and a subwoofer. Fill your listening area with sound, not speakers.
Omnipolar technology offers lifelike sound
The advanced sound-reproduction technology featured on all five satellite speakers in Mirage's Nanosat 5.1 home audio system can be summed up in one word — Omnipolar. Research shows that in live musical environments, about 30% of what a person hears is direct sound, while the remaining 70% consists of reflected sound. The brain uses direct sound for identification and localization, and uses reflected sound to determine musicality and spaciousness. Unfortunately, the front-firing driver design used in most loudspeakers produces the opposite ratio: 70% direct sound to 30% reflected sound. Omnipolar technology, on the other hand, restores the balance. The Nanosat 5.1's patented Omniguide module employs two deflectors to create a 360° soundscape. While the first deflector is placed above the tweeter, the second deflector houses the tweeter and is placed above the midrange driver. This specific arrangement of drivers and reflectors makes it possible for any Mirage speaker featuring Omnipolar technology to permeate your listening area with enveloping, high-fidelity sound.
Absolutely fundamental — the subwoofer
If you know a friend or a neighbor that has a home audio system including a subwoofer, invite yourself over for a demo. While you're there, have your gracious host play your favorite song — rock or classical — or your favorite movie's most thrilling action scene. Twice. First, with the subwoofer turned off. Then, with the sub on. Is there a difference? Absolutely. During the first playing, you'll recognize the song or scene and not think much of it; it'll sound just like it always does in your car, on the stereo, or coming from your TV's speakers. During the second playing, you'll have to sit down. The low-frequency audio that only a sub's large driver can reproduce completes the home audio experience by generating sound that you can both hear and feel. Combining an 8" down-firing driver with a front-ported cabinet and 75W of built-in amplification power, the Mirage Nanosat 5.1's subwoofer reproduces clear, impacting bass audio that transforms the sound of a bass line from a hum into a growl, the sound of a helicopter's blades from a whirr into a thundering drone.
Heavenly — the Nanosat 5.1's satellites
While the Nanosat 5.1's subwoofer provides the foundation of your home audio experience, the five Nanosat bookshelf speakers team up to complete the surround sound experience. Take each speaker's synthesis of a 0.75" tweeter, 2.75" woofer driver, and Omnipolar technology, and you have a full, dynamic 360° soundstage, times five. Just like the rest of the Nanosat 5.1 system, these bookshelf speakers feature a compact design that doesn't dominate your living room. The included wall/ceiling-mount brackets and magnetic shielding bring you versatile placement options.
A quick note: A Stock status
While B Stock products are those that Vann's has received from a third party, often at low liquidation prices, and may have minor damage to their packaging, A Stock products like this Mirage speaker product are brand new, in-the-box speakers that have been received directly from the manufacturer and carry a full manufacturer warranty.

The following items are included with the purchase of the Mirage Nanosat Prestige 5: wall-mounting brackets for satellite speakers.

I heard these speakers demod about 3 years ago in a higher end electronics retailer and have been thinking about them ever since. I finally purchased them along with a Marantz AV Receiver. Thanks for the great deal on them Justin! I have a pretty small living room approx. 12x15 and these speakers more than fill that space with room to spare. I am amazed at the BIG unstrained sound that comes out of these. I live in an apt. so I really havent had the opportunity to test their limits but so far Im really impressed. Ive read some reviews from people who feel the center channel is a bit weak. I havent found this to be the case at all. I guess it all depends on your setup and room. The sound while watching Blu-Rays is exceptional but what I was most surprised by was when watching TV shows that have DD 5.1. I never knew all the nuanced sound that I was missing using just my tvs speaker. Overall.. Im extremely impressed with the rich sound these speakers deliver -especially for their size.

I did a lot a research before purchasing the mirage nanosat 5.1 package. The omnidirectional sound produced by these speakers especially for music is fantastic for the pricepoint. The dialogue channel or the center speaker seems to be lacking a little though I think the product needs a lite bit of breaking time. The customer service provided by vanns is excellent and they go out of their way to give you the right advice.
I think I will be a vanns customer for all my electronic needs.

I was also concerned that the center channel was the same speakers as the front and back ones. Doesn't seem to make a difference. Great sound, very crisp and subwoofer gives deep bass without being muffled.

That was truely an outragious deal or should I say steal. However, the quality and clarity of this home theatre system is second to none. Forget about the Bose and paying for the name. Mirage is a Canadian company and the build quality and technology that goes into these speakers is top notch. I have had several people say to me What are those speakers? And they all wanted them now.

After some intense research and evaluation ive decided to pick up this set and i must say it exceeded my expectations. Ive never heard of mirage before but a friend who works in the home automation av business highly recommended this set. Im glad i listened because i believe this is the best sound you can get for the money. The speakers are small and truly represent a perfectly struck balance between form and function. The materials used give them a solid feel and appearance and the speakers themselves are a thing of beauty. The sound is crisp and clear. The sub has a nice low tone that doesnt rattle your windows but instead appears to move the earth beneath you. Its a deep low bass, subtle yet very powerful and omnipotent. Both music and movies sound fantastic. You can calibrate the sub to your liking using the built in low pass filter. Pair it with Marantz SR5004 receiver and theres no going back. Youll believe in santa again.. Pros excellent build quality, fantastic crisp sound. Cons none. ive seen reviews where people complained about the center channel speaker, i think it sounds just fine you can always adjust your receiver if needed.

Overall, I am very pleased with this speaker set after 3 weeks of use. I have them connected to a Pioneer VSX 1020k receiver and they bump quite nicely. I took a point off of their performance due to the subwoofer, and you really do need to purchase a center channel separately, as they were both average at best for their purposes. The speakers are perfect with their omnisatellite sound for my space. They are in my living room and do a very good job filling it for their size..space is a loft and ceilings are quite high..almost 20ft. The sub would be ok for a small to mid sized apartment living room, but in my space it does not get the job done. However, at this price point I do not think you can get a better 5.1 set. I also looked at an Energy 5.1 set, as well as another Klipsch set, and was very happy with my final choice.

As well as alternate setup
4 Wharfedale Valdus 500 & Yamaha YST90 Sub.
Hooked up to Sony 7.1 5.1 AV Receiver
First impressions
Needs more juice because of 8Ohms & small enclosures.
Normal listening went from Vol 35 to Vol 50 on receiver.
Shallow flat sound on the front due to missing bass, though very crisp details that were missing from Bose or Wharfedale.
Basic Tuning
Your preferences may not be the same but here is what I did
1. Crossover needs to be between 120Hz and 150Hz.
2. Remove grills from satellites. You will be surprised with the difference.
Results
The higher than 120Hz crossover compensated for the small satellites that were set as LARGE speakers on the receiver that resulted with a sound with a strong presence.
The removal of the grills from satellites gave a much better dimension to the sound since the Omnipolar fills the entire room but you lose the feeling of perspective and the feeling of where the sound is coming from.
The speakers have a much better dynamic and kick than Bose as well as Wharfedale. For Home Theater Movie you will enjoy the sound. Sometimes it feels that the sound is coming outside your room. Take your time to play with the placement of you Subwoofer. By the way the Sub has not impressed me yet.
Plans to upgrade
One more Nano satellite to use it with the 5th one which is currently the center as 7.1
Compatible center speaker but not Nano. Possibly Energy or Klipsch
Value
I paid $349 at Vann’s and I do not regret it.
$799 ? I think that there are MUCH better speakers on the market for that price.

A big concern was room shape and ceiling height not to mention my wifes concern about electronic clutter in our main entertainment area. I heard and was impressed by a friends Mirage multi-channel system, but it is the much more expensive OMD and OS 3-based floor standing speaker array. So, I didnt want to set myself for too high expectations when I purchased the much more modest Mirage Nanosat 5.1 system. Wow! I was blown away by the sound quality of the Nanosat 5.1 system. It was the perfect solution. They have an unbelievable listening sweet spot, you have to look hard to find them in the room, and the best part is sonically they sound equally good reproducing music and they do supporting blu ray digitally encoded movie tracks. They even sound crisp and clear at low volume levels. Im thrilled.

With this Nanosat 5.1, my problem is solved because of the omni tech of the speakers. No longer I need to find the best angle and height to setup my speakers, putting on the table will finish the job instantly.
The quality of the sound is good for such size of speaker. Though the sub is a bit underpower for movie watching, but Im using it as a secondary sub. So, it is still a plus for me.

I purchased the Nanosat 5.1 in a package deal that included a Yamaha RXV567, a very nice deal. I had been using a Pioneer VSX-D1S receiver that I bought in the early 1990s, along with a set of Bose Acoustimas 10 speakers, about 15 years old. While the Pioneer and Bose system was fine for music, my wife had a hard time hearing movie dialog. With these Mirage speakers she has no problem hearing the dialog. I was a little concerned with a satellite speaker for the center channel, but it works well I still think I will replace it with a true center speaker and move my satellite speaker to the rear for a 6.1 system. I would rate these speakers much higher than my older Bose speakers for both music and movies. Their sound is clear with nice highs, mids, and lows provided by the subwoofer. The speakers are not a nice as my larger Klipsch speakers I have in a movie room, but for my family room with a large screen TV they are great. Compared to the other 5.1 speaker sets I listened to while shopping, they are better than most, and the price with the receiver was great. Vanns has come through again with great service, price, and an accurate description of the product. It was not my first time dealing with Vanns, nor do I think it will be my last.

Quick and fast delivery. What impressed me the most is the extra packaging from Vanns. It felt great knowing the speakers were protected with another box and extra padding during shipping. The original packaging was great as well. The small speakers look beautiful... brushed black metal finish. The speakers were pretty heavy and it was easy to connect the speaker wires. The speakers just look incredible and seem to blend in the background. My HTPC setup. Audio is crisp and clear at midrange and highs. Sub is powerful for my taste and doesnt sound distorted. Pleasantly surprised that the speakers fill up the room yet its great for watching action movies. Very impressed with the speakers and Vanns service.

Ive had these a couple weeks, and am enjoying them immensely. Paired with an Onkyo 608, they sound great with movies in a small 15x25 room. I was a little worried about the center channel being just another satellite, but the voices and smaller sounds in movies is fine. I also wanted these for music, and they sound great for that. Very full, and they fill up the room really well. The small, unobtrusive look of the satellites is definitely a plus as well. They tuck away nicely and dont scream techno geek in a family room setting.

I really enjoy the sound off of these speakers, I am hearing things in music and movies that I have never heard before. Only negative, you think for the money they would come with some speaker wire.

I cannot give a full review of this product as after returning to Canada and plugging in the powered sub I found the product not working. Amp keeps blowing fuses. Ive now had to send the product for repair and hope warranty will cover. So far Im out $55 just for shipping to warranty location.

This is great entry-level surround sound speaker system. It is easy to setup, the speakers are small though very dynamically voiced. The subwoofer fills out the room. The system is a steal for the money. What I love about this system is that it blends into the decor. It is very unobtrusive. And dont let the small size of the speakers turn you off. I was shocked by how good these sounded--both with music and movies.

All I can say is WOW!!! This speakers sound great. The bass sound is great. I have never purchased from Vanns before, but I will definately purchase from them again. The service was great. I do only have 1 complaint. Dont no if this has to do with Vanns or FEDEX ground. I wasnt home so they left the box on my front porch. The box was a pretty big box,.. about knee high. People passing in front of my house could definitly see the box. Well luckly no one took it. Other than that, I would purchase from Vanns again

Got these speakers from Vanns ~ $100 cheaper than other sites. I partnered these with Denon AVR-1910. Great sound, given the right scene explosions, etc.. you really feel the surround sound. Clarity is super especially for little things like door opening, etc.. The speakers are small and can can fit anywhere except for the Sub of course. I recommend these speakers to anyone and thanks Vanns for prompt shipment and great price.

Overall I would rate the 5.1 nanostats as excellent speakers. They are a real value. The clarity of the speakers is excellent. The omnipolar designed small speakers in conjunction with the supplied 8 inch subwoofer fill my 20ft x 20ft x 16.5 ft family room with fantastic sound both for hometheater and music. I purchased them based on the outstanding reviews I read and I definitely have no regrets.

These speakers are perfect for my 5th wheel RV. The room is long and narrow with lots of angles, and there are only so many places to put your speakers. I especially appreciate the way these speakers scatter the sound. I can listen to my classical music anywhere in the RV and the sound is bright and clear. I had wondered if the omni-directional sound might be muddied by the number of angles it would bounce off. Not to worry, the sound is lovely. I also enjoy the rich sound generated by the subwoofer. The bass is thunderous when required but never over powering. The whole set can be balanced easily by a complete amateur like me. Finally, these speakers are good looking. I am a full time RVer, so I have to look at them everyday. Their sleek looks are a nice addition to the room.
