Of Tractrix and tweeters

The hallmark of Klipsch speakers is bright, realistic sound which can be credited to the patented Tractrix Horn. The Tractrix Horn's carefully calculated flare dramatically increases driver efficiency, allowing production of very high sound levels with minimal amplifier power and no strain or distortion. It also controls the sound's direction, ensuring excellent coverage of the listening area while minimizing detail-obscuring reflections off of walls, floor, and ceiling. Fed by a smooth, accurate 0.75" aluminum-dome tweeter, the XT Micro Tractrix Horn featured on each speaker in the Quintet system is the key to the vibrantly realistic, emotionally compelling Klipsch Sound Experience. The 90° by 40° MicroTractrix Horn used in the Quintet speaker package incorporates the advances of Klipsch's Tractrix Horn technology in its most compact application ever. Integrated into the front baffle to minimize diffraction, the horn delivers high output, low distortion, broad dynamics and, most importantly, true Klipsch sonic character.

Every sigh, every whisper, every word

Sure, with their 0.75" tweeter/3.5" woofer pairs, the Quintet's satellite speakers do an impressive job of serving up dynamic, enveloping surround sound effects. But while you enjoy the immersive quality of surround effects, you also enjoy becoming engrossed is a movie's dialogue. Here's where a surround-sound system's center-channel speaker steps in. Center-channel speakers work to reproduce every line an actor utters — whether whispered in a mystery flick or sung in a musical — with power and detail. Combining a single 0.75" tweeter with two 3.5" woofer drivers, the Quintet's center-channel is built to deliver every sigh, every whisper, every word of a movie's dialogue with clarity and nuance.

For a peaceful and harmonious home theater area, all your A/V components need to get along well together. Because speakers feature integrated magnets that can potentially harm other components — like your TV — Klipsch has take special care to design all the speakers in the Quintet system with magnetic shielding. When in home . . .

If your name doesn't start with "Ron" and end with "Burgundy", there's a good chance you've heard the expression, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." For speaker sets, the expression is a little different though: "When in home, look like the other theater components". We admit, it's not quite as catchy, but for most people, it's much more useful. You see, having speakers that don't look good with your TV, your Blu-ray player, and of course, your other décor is just tacky. Realizing that aesthetics are nearly as important in a speaker set as the sound quality, Klipsch designed the Quintet as a great compliment to most modern electronics. And, since they need to mesh with the rest of your room in both form, and in feng shui, the four surround speakers are all designed with a nifty stand that doubles as a wall-mount for flexibility in placement. Simply loosen the back screws, then the base twists to be a handy wall-mount. Tighten the screws again, and you're done! As for the center speaker, it's designed with a threaded insert compatible with many common wall-mounts if you choose to explore that avenue. With the Klipsch Quintet system, you get the best of both worlds, function and form, exactly as we imagine the Romans would have liked.

I got these speakers on amazing deal.....hooked these bad boys with klipsch 12 300 W sub and pioneer 1021K....I am living in fantasy world now....Bang for bucks...Totally worth it...Fan of Klipsch now.

If you are in the market for smaller speakers but dont want to sacrifice sound, look no further. These speakers come connected to tabletop stands that double as wall mounts. I had large JBL Cinema Series speakers that were taking up way to much room. I saw these on a special and decided I needed to pull the trigger. The sound and clarity is amazing. The only thing these speakers are lacking are low bass. You should get a nice sub woofer to go along with them. All in all I am absolutely blown away with the quality and I now understand why people love Klipsch speakers!

P.S. Vanns shipped the item quickly and was very helpful with every question asked! 5 out of 5 for them!

Im very impressed by this set of speakers. Even though they may look small, they pack a pretty powerful punch that is loud enough for average living room. Its great for watching Blu Ray and playing PS3 with 5.1 set up!

Sound is crisp and clear. Surround sound effect is excellent. Center speaker is pretty good for dialogues. Just make sure you pair a powered sub to enhance low range bass.

I would like to start by saying how impressed I was with Vanns customer service. It is refreshing to speak with someone knowledgeable about a product you want to buy. Big name stores dont come close! Now the speakers, I am impressed with the Quintet IVs and also own the older IIIs and SLs. In comparison, I first noticed that the new IVs were slightly lighter than the last quintet models. This may be due to a lighter base from what I could tell. The sound is excellent. I have the new Quintets paired with a Polk PSW10 in a rather small game room and couldnt be happier with the sound. I feel that the Klipsch Quintet IVs are worth the price and with the service I received from Vanns I will definitely be a repeat customer. Its been quite a while since I could recommend a company so highly...and did I mention my speakers showed up 2 days later??? Cant say enough good things...

Finally, after years of waiting, VANNS offered the Klipsch Quintet set of speakers at HALF price. These speakers are twice the weight of the set that is being replaced. The magnets are sooo much better which makes the sound quality unbelievable! They mount easily to the wall or can sit on a table. They are fully adjustable up or down, left or right. The sound quality is really awesome! It was worth the wait. Add a Sony 7.1 HD receiver and a 42 LCD tv... and we can say goodbye to the movie theatre and hello to the livingroom! Next on the list... a new Klipsch 10 or 12 sub.

I researched for a long time looking for replacement speakers for my home theater, however I kept coming back to these Klipsch Quintets. I must say that they are a great package, and the sound is incredible. The center channel is clear and crisp, and the surrounds do a great job at giving you the feeling of being in the middle of the movie. I will say a few things about them that need to be strongly considered before making the purchase of this set. First, do not expect this to be a movie theater feel. Where the sound from these speakers is wonderful, you will not get the same sound out of them as you would floor standing speakers. Due to their size they are just incapable of making the large sound and mid bass sound that some people are looking for. My room is about 12x16 and the fill the room fine, but I believe if you have a larger room or a very open room you will be somewhat disappointed. Second, due to the size of the woofer in these speakers, a sub is a MUST. The package that I got included the 10inch Klipsch sub and it is the perfect addition to the system. I have heard some say that the 12inch overpowers, but I cannot really comment on that, however the 10 is perfect. Third is that there is a lot of tweaking you will need to do to get your sound set up to your liking for your room. The Audacity on my Denon was a great start, however adjustments had to be made to not only channel level but also crossover frequency, and the subs internal settings. I was finally able to get a good combination of surround and sub mix to get it to feel like I was in the middle of a movie and not just a listener. Finally, these speakers are great for movies, but they leave a little to be desired for music. I find that with certain types of music they do not perform as well as I would have hoped. All in all these are a great addition to a small home theater set up, and if you are on a budget and looking for something that will not only sound great, look great, and also allow you use them in the future when upgrading to a 7.1 system I plan to do this in the future, and use the quintets for the surrounds, and get bookshelffloorstanding speakers for the fronts you cant go wrong with this system. say look for a deal to pop up like vanns offers from time to time that includes the Klipsch sub, and you cant go wrong.

I these speakers due to have been wanting them for a while. I was looking at them at best buy. While looking on line found vanns. The delivery was fast and have been very happy. Have talked to there customer service a couple of times and they have been great. I would recommend these to anyone that really cares about quality. Cant be beat for price and sound! I have owned these for a year and a half and still love them. The sound is far better than expected for movies and not too bad for music.The only complaint would be a bit of ear fatigue ,as they are a bit brite , after long listeningbut still amazed at there sound. A sub is a must as they only go to 120hz but wait long enough and they always have a package deal with free sub. So if you have a tight budget and dont want to be disappointed I dont see how you can go wrong with these speakers. By the way if you wall mount these you may want to hang them so the speaker is hanging down as they are very heavy and the mount sometimes has a problem holding the weightof the speaker.

What can I say, Klipsch has hit a home run with this one. I can not believe the quality of sound I hear from these speakers. I am replacing much bigger units and wall mounting these. The look is very nice and the sound is much bigger than I ever imagined. These speakers have handled soft jazz, full orchestral classical, contemporary and full on explosions and war scenes in home theatre mode. What can I say but WOW!!

First time home theater setup. Fell in love with the Quintet series a while back. Went with the Quintet IV cause I liked the new black finish. System sounds wonderful.
