The Best Of Every World
The incredibly low-profile OMNISAT v2 satellite speaker is the most versatile product in Mirage's recently refined, second-generation Omnipolar line. It can be used as a front speaker, a center channel, or a surround speaker. The OMNISAT v2 satellite can be mixed and matched with the OMNISAT v2 center channel and/or the OMNISAT v2 floorstander. Alternatively, a battery of satellites can be placed around the room as a complete home theater system. The amazing sonic performance, elegant design, and unlimited mounting options also make the OMNISAT v2 the ideal speaker for a dedicated two-channel stereo set-up, when space is at a premium. Add one of Mirage's OMNI subwoofers, and you have a phenomenal 2.1 stereo set-up. The OMNISAT v2 satellite features a 4.5" Polypropylene Titanium Deposit Hybrid Woofer and Mirage's proprietary 1" PTH Tweeter with OMNIGUIDE module, which delivers perfect 360-degree sound dispersion for brilliant, soulful sound reproduction.
How We Hear What We Hear When We Hear The Things We Hear
Research proves that in a live musical environment, approximately 30% of what we hear is direct sound while 70% is reflected from walls, ceilings, and floors and only reaches our ears a few milliseconds after the direct sound. The human brain uses direct sound for identification and to calculate location, but uses reflected sound to determine musicality and spaciousness, as well as direction.Ê If this reflected sound arrives at our ears with inadequate high frequency content, then the reproduced music is identified by the brain as artificial.Ê A speaker capable of recreating the correct direct-to-reflected ratio would therefore reproduce sound with far greater realism and faithfulness to the original instrument and environment. Guess what: that's exactly what the OMNISAT v2 Satellite delivers, using Mirage's newly-refined OMNIPOLAR technology. The effect OMNIPOLAR speakers have in a home theater system is markedly unlike traditional forward-radiating speakers. OMNIPOLAR speakers have incorporated the latest acoustical research and use walls, ceilings, and other surface areas in the room to reflect sound towards the listener. With more reflected sound than direct sound reaching the listener, a tremendously large soundstage is created that makes the listener believe the sound is virtually coming from beyond the walls. Mirage's innovative technology creates the most realistic sound you could ever imagine. With OMNIPOLAR technology, you no longer have a small "sweet spot" in which to enjoy your speakers. With Mirage, the entire room is a sweet spot.
25 Years Of Making Waves
For 30 years, Mirage has researched the ways humans perceive, capture and comprehend sound. Critics raved as Mirage, led by acclaimed audio engineer Ian Paisley and his protege Andrew Welker, delivered both trendsetting design and award-winning products. Among these was the world's first bipolar speaker, the M-1, which revolutionized the industry in 1987 by dramatically increasing sound dispersion, turning flat recordings into full-bodied, near-realistic performances. Mirage now launches a speaker so advanced, the world of sound as you know it will be completely shattered. The OMNISAT v2 series refines Mirage's unique, patent-pending Omnipolar technology to radiate sound in a full 360 degree spherical spectrum, enveloping you in a musical heaven like you have never experienced before. Pioneering research, state of the art engineering, and out-of-the-box thinking have produced a speaker so advanced, you will go quickly from admiring the design (easy enough to do) to marvelling at the nuances of the music and the complexity of the arrangement. This is sound with such unparalleled depth and feel, it could almost be live.
What's Under The Hood
The OMNISAT v2 series speakers feature some of the finest components, materials, and manufacturing techniques available today. These speakers pack a punch because they combine innovative design and state-of-the-art materials into one revolutionary speaker. They feature the latest generation of OMNIGUIDE technology including the famous Pure Titanium Hybrid (PTH) tweeter - which first made its appearance in the legendary Mirage M1si, the world's best-known Bipolar speaker. PTH tweeters earned worldwide recognition for their crystal clear and lifelike high-frequency reproduction, low distortion, and wide dispersion. The PTH tweeter dome is mated to a compliant cloth suspension, eliminating the harsh ringing effect often found with metal domes. The new Mirage 4.5 mid-bass driver is constructed with injection-molded polypropylene, impregnated with graphite, carbon, mica, then titanium coated, to provide increased strength and rigidity in a super-light cone. High-quality, extruded-aluminum enclosures, high-end crossover network and wiring, and a stable base round out the overall build quality of these remarkable speakers.

I purchased six of these speakers for my 7.1 system and combined them with the Mirage OS3 center and the Omni S10 sub. I can hear detail in sounds that I couldnt hear before in my older Sony HTiB system. My room measures 13x25 with 8 ceilings, but is an open floor plan with a partial wall so its really about 26x25. These speakers more than fill the room with sound and has dramatically improved the Home Theater experience. These speakers also have the look and feel of quality with a nice fit and finish. The grill cover being magnetically attached is a nice touch. Other brands may have this but this is my first experience with it. For the sub, Ive read in forums people talking about feeling the bass but I really didnt understand until it now. All I can say is awesome and really is more than enough sub, a bigger sub may overpower the rest of the speakers.

I bought these speakers to use as surround speakers and pair with omnisat FS and CC. They are great to look at and are very well built. I was comparing them with Bose AM10 and they blow away Bose and hence my purchase decision. I was surprise by the sound field these small speakers produce. You dont have to sit in the middle to enjoy the great sound. It used to be the case with traditional speakers.
They sound very crisp and have nice mid-range tone. I test as front speakers as well and they work great too, but you will need a sub-woofer to generate the bass which is understandable due to their size.

These speakers are wonderful in terms of sound quality and value.
After investing a lot -- and I mean a lot -- of money in a home theater set-up by another manufacturer who shall remain nameless, I decided to try out Mirages Omnisats to create a second smaller home theater setup in my bedroom.
The Mirage Omnisats blew away my primary, more expensive home theater setup decisively. They are now my main system, and theyve helped me to finally fully appreciate why home theater is worth the hassle and expense.
Mirages omnipolar technology is great for music, creating a massive soundstage in which sound seems to emanate from all around you. I love the effect, but be aware that in home theater this might not always be ideal... sound effects or dialogue are not as localized as in a more traditional and directional setup.
That is the only potential downside I can dredge up about these little wonders, though. They are solid, well-built and easy to use, with five-way binding posts for connection to your speaker wire. They are attractive, and reasonably unobtrusive.
I paired an Omni S10 sub with two V2 FS and a V2 CC in front, and two V2 SS in rear... couldnt be happier with the results.
I find myself listening to music more than ever, and re-discovering albums I hadnt listened to in a long time. The Mirage speakers seem to reveal things I had never heard before in many recordings, making listening to music AND watching movies especially with lossless audio via Blu-Ray discs a joy.
As much as I love the satellites, my favorite in the Omnisat V2 line has to be the FS model. It is more efficient and goes lower than the SS, and offers a lot more presence. Paired with the SS and a sub, they are a perfect compact system that is hard to beat, especially at current closeout prices. The FS is also a treat on its own, a very nice way to listen to 2-channel audio.
Kudos to Vanns for excellent customer service -- always friendly, efficient, and professional.

This review is for the original Omnisats that the V2 replaced, however I am sure the V2s are just as good if not better. I have been extremely happy with these speakers. I purchased 4 black Omnisats to be my front and rear speakers. They replaced JBL speakers. The Omnisats sound awesome. Both music and movies sound much clearer now. You can tell a huge difference when you listen to action movies. The sound of bullets wizzing by and glass breaking sound so crisp and clear. They mount very easily too. I mounted my 2 rear speakers with just one screw placed in a stud and are extremely solid. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for smaller speakers pleasing to the wife with big sound and doesnt want to sacrafice too much with mini speakers Nanostats, Bose, etc... Now its time to get a center channel to go with them!
