Experience Uni-Q
Kef's 5000 series, including the HTS5001.2 come standard with what KEF calls Uni-Q. But what is Uni-Q? Quite simply, Uni-Q is the arrangement of the individual speakers. But saying that doesn't do justice to this ingenious design. Flanked by a pair of three inch long throw woofers with ultra-low distortion motor systems, the Uni-Q array has KEF's 0.6 inch metal dome tweeter at the acoustic center of the three inch midrange cone to disperse a seamless sonic image evenly throughout the listening area. And what an image it is richly textured and spatially precise in every dimension. KEF's characteristic attention to detail in everything from the audiophile grade wiring and internal components to the curvature of the cabinets maximizes the Uni-Q performance advantage, creating a big, expansive sound that's accurate enough to clarify every nuance in the recording. In other words, Uni-Q makes a relatively small speaker sound like much larger, more expensive models and not just a cheap imitation.
Little box, big sound
The HTS5001.2 speakers seem to defy natural law. At around two cubic feet, they appear to be pretty small speakers. Until they begin to play. The bass pounds, the treble is crystal clear, and everything between sounds truly authentic. You might find yourself wondering how such a small package can provide such a big sound. The answer is in the design. Every aspect of the speakers is built for performance. Even the sleek design helps to recreate sound. Still not convinced? Worried that three-inch speakers might not be loud enough for your listening desires? Only if your listening desires are to blow an eardrum. These speakers peak at a thunderous 106dB. Ouch!

I moved from the country back to the city right at the same time that my Klipsch Elite speakers blew out. I ran music through my Sharp Aquos HDTV, but the experience, of course, was less than appealing. I saved up some several thousands of dollars over two months for a speaker purchase. I read reviews and went to a local store to listen to various speakers. I thought I was sold on Klipsh however, after reading so many reviews, I had to decide between going with Klipsch again and taking a chance on KEF. I opted for the latter because of two reasons 1 the fabulous design look and 2 when I called Vanns the sale price was lower than what was listed on the website and the Vanns representative was quite knowledgeable and helpful and friendly. Having NEVER heard anything from these KEF speakers, I decided to go for them! What a thrill! I have heard sounds in my music that Ive listened to for 30 years that I have never heard before. They are stylish, well-priced, and sound incredible. Plus, the buying experience with Vanns cannot be beat. Vanns is now my preferred vendor for electronics. I urge you to use Vanns and buy KEF.
