Surround Yourself
With the Primus Series, Infinity's engineers have accomplished the ideal synthesis of technology, performance, design, and affordability destined to transport your home entertainment experience to a higher level. When you listen to the embracing sound produced by the Primus Theater Pack's four Primus 140 satellite speakers (each with a 4.0" woofer and 0.75" tweeter) and center channel speaker (with twin 4.0" woofers and 0.75" tweeter), you'll encounter a level of realism and subtly beyond what you've ever known before--even in music and movie soundtracks you know by heart. Then look at the Theater Pack. You'll be struck by the modesty of a purely functional design that's also pleasing to the eye. All of this, allied with Infinity's tradition of excellence in sound reproduction, makes the cost of this speaker package all the more amazing.
Encompassing Technology
Infinity's Metal Matrix Diaphragm (MMD) technology permits you to hear recordings--perhaps for the first time--exactly the way the artist or director intended. What can prevent this from happening are resonances, unwanted colorations, or distortions, of the sound reproduced by a speaker; and every transducer has its own unavoidable set of reasonances based on its physical characteristics. The trick is to build a transducer where the natural resonances are either above or below its audible range. To get this done, Infinity engineers developed Metal Matrix Diaphragm (MMD) transducer material, a sandwich made up of layers of ceramic alumina (5% of the total thickness top and bottom) anodized to a metallic aluminum core (the remaining 90% of total thickness). Among the stiffest materials known, alumina and aluminum were chosen because sound moves through them faster than through conventional transducer materials and the MMD sandwich responds to electrical signals very rapidly without coloring the sound at all. MMD technology is derivative of a similar patented sandwich material used on Infinity's premium speakers. At Infinity, elimination of resonances is paramount, whether at the top of the line or at the entry level. When other manufacturers claim that their transducers are ceramically coated, it's merely a cosmetic surface treatment. Every speaker in the Primus Theater Pack surround sound system incorporates MMD transducer material because Infinity knows the listener will be able to hear the difference.
Analysis Assures Excellence
Before ever putting a speaker into production, Infinity engineers analyze a number of critical parameters, including: frequency response, spatial averages, phase response, and nonlinear distortion. Also analyzed are: sound quality (timbre and bandwidth), spatial quality (how well the speakers spread out the sound), stereo imaging, the multichannel soundstage (how strong the sound image is in front, behind, and to the sides), and dynamic capabilities (sound quality for very loud and very quiet inputs). The Primus Series speakers you bring into your home have been subjected to some of the most rigorous testing and analysis in the industry, all to assure you superb performance and superior quality.
The Decision Is Yours
In the final analysis only you, the listener, can judge the performance of any surround sound system. Infinity does all it can to make certain that your verdict will be a good one. They employ listeners with naturally acute hearing and then train them to express what they hear in ways that help engineers identify what's right and wrong about a speaker. Only after the Primus Theater Pack was rated best-in-class against other manufacturer's comparable products, was it ready for production. Infinity's dedication to creating good sound in any room, anywhere in the room, is a benchmark in the loudspeaker industry. Invisible, uncolored, unchanged, natural sound, exactly as the musician or director meant for you to hear it--that's Infinity.

I am very pleased with my purchase of the Primus Theater Pack. Very clear and present sound stage, with not being too harsh. I am using these as a 5.1 set-up along with the JBL E150P sub. I will say this.... you need a sub with this set-up. The 140's are too small to provide any bass response, so a sub is a must. If you live in an apartment, then you may want to get a pair of Primus 360's to go with your Theater Pack, since a sub may be out of the question. The satellites are kinda big compared to other infinity sets, but provide a richer sound than say the TSS-750 set or the TSS-450 set.
