These speakers are great. The sound is really clean and crisp, subwoofer kicks really good. I mean really really GOOD! I upgraded from logitech z5500 5.1 speakers theres just no comparison. Im so happy with these ones. I have them paired with a Yamaha RX V671 receiver, also from Vanns. They are perfect my apartment. The satellites and the subwoofer mix all the frequencies perfectly. Since my receiver is a 7.1 I added two bose acoustimas 10 jewel cubes for the rear speakers since my living room is about 20 x 12 ft, they sound really nice watching a movie but when listening to music the subwoofer seems to not able to fill the room. At the back end of the room its missing the bass. Yes the sub can be turned up but then itll start to rattle because I like to listen to music with a lot of bass. I feel the need of a second subwoofer at the back. Without the two extra speakers, though, they are perfect. So if your room is bigger than a usual apartment size living room you may need a bigger sub or an extra sub to enjoy your music. Overall this package is excellent!

Very happy with this system. The sound from the satellites is sharp, precise, and natural sounding. The subwoofer is more powerful sounding than the wattage and size would lead you to believe. The subwoofer plays much lower than you would expect its size to be able to produce, but its front firing and rear slot ported design makes it much more susceptible to acoustic dead spots throughout the room.This replaced a Boston Acoustics system and the Bostons down firing sub did not have as noticeable dead spots in the room. Im using this as a bedroom system and i think its excellent for that. I would recommend this system for smaller rooms.

I always pictured Bose to be my surround sound system for my movie viewing. After demo-ing bunch of systems the clarity of these speakers took back seat to none. I have yamaha rx-v867 and these system handles it perfectly. I would put these up against my buddys Bose Acoustimass whatever series no pun intended anytime for watching movies. Sorry Bose I got a new gal in my life. Definitely a Def Tech fan. Their customer service is great. By the way, I didnt think the performance between the 600 series and this didnt warrant almost twice the price tag difference.

The ProCinema 60.6 system replaced my severely deteriorated speakers that were well over 20 years old. Needless to say the difference is astounding. For such small speakers they put out plenty of volume for my installation - a large bedroom. I used the #1 hookup recommended in the manual. Dialog from the center channel is clear and distinct, the surround effect is very spacious, and the bass reproduction is really quite big- sounding for an 8 woofer. They sound great with music and reproduce a lifelike surround with my new receiver also purchased from Vanns and a new flat panel HDTV.
One downside to the system that I experienced is in hooking up the wires. I found it difficult to lock them down with the knurled knobs. Perhaps 14 guage wire is just too robust for the posts. I plan to install banana plugs and rewire the speakers when I get a chance.

the def tech procinema 60.6 sounds wonderful for sats sub is killer with the bass.me and wife loves them and we have movie nights on sat nights.we watch all kinds of movies n def tech sounds wonderful on all movies we watch on dvd n blu ray,i am so glad i have them in my theater.

Well to start off the connectors on the backs of the speakers are of high quality, im accustomed to them being a simple clip, working in the signal industry i know a thing or two about how it works. the metals on the connections could mean the difference in staticinterference and crisp sound. but most of the time that doesnt really matter unless your working with 100K equipment. the speakers sound amazing at high volumes and low volumes. and well worth the price in addition. originaly 799 i believe and i got them for a steal.

Forget Bose these speakers are the best, ideal for an apartment, they dont make these speakers anymore so get them before theyre gone.

I purchased this set as my starter setup and used a Yamaha receiver to power them. Moving from a home theater in a box to these was a HUGE jump. The sound quality and reproduction is fantastic with these speakers. I would not expect anything less from Definitive technology speakers.

We received these speakers, got them set up and loved the sound. Within several hours, however, the subwoofer went CRUMP. We discovered it had blown a fuse. Called Vanns and Definitive Technology both. Definitive Tech said it should never have blown a fuse and return it to Vanns.
Vanns was very easy to deal with, however, we werent wild about it taking another 3 to 4 weeks for the returned unit to arrive, credits to be processed and the new unit shipped out. So we just purchased another new set, and will wait for the return credits to come in.
Service has been great with Vanns. The only negative is the length of time it takes to get product out of the wilds of Montana. Both shipments have taken a full 7 days to get to us in NE FL. Other sellers do get shipments here more quickly, so when comparing prices throw in an extra $20 to get the product shipped faster from Vanns if you are keen on getting the product to your home quickly.

I purchased these speakers to replace some really great floor speakers I have that were just taking up too much floor space in a small room. These speakers were incredibly impressive right out of the box, and I know that from burn-in theyll only get better. The sattelites are extremely clear and crisp and great at reproducing everything in their sound range from voices, explosions and breaking glass in movies to every type of music I threw at them. Theyre great for smalls rooms, and probably big rooms too but I wouldnt know since theyre in a small room at my house. If I were to compare them to my fathers Bose Acoustimass system, Id stick with these guys. Definitive technologies has always been known to create great speakers capable of amazing things, and I just think Bose is more name than performance, and also overpriced for what you get. I bought these based on my knowledge of Definitive Technologies reputation, their specs, and reviews and I am not at all disappointed. Only complaint I have is that the mains didnt come with any support stands to rest them on a table or flat stand, nor do they have rubber feet. So they tend to slide from vibrations they create if you leave them sitting on a flat surface by themselves, which I wouldnt recommend anyway. The center speaker however does have two feet in front molded into the plastic not rubber and one adjustable rubber foot in the rear

I set up my Definitive Technology ProCinema package and have begun a NEW phase in listening to music. If you are a music lover, put your money towards these speakers and you wont be disappointed. They are made with quality materials, have great craftsmanship and most of all bring a level of sound detail to my apartment that I have never had. I dont know how I lived without them for so many years.

I bought this unit several years ago for my living room at a much higher price. When I saw this at Vanns I knew I had to get one for my gameroom.
This is an outstanding unit for surround sound. The speakers are light enough to hang on the walls and using the correct brackets you can turn them to make the sound better.
The subwoofer is more than adequate and I assure you you will not be disappointed at this price.

I had been looking at this set for a while. I had heard great things about Definitive Technology and I was not disappointed.

I recently bought the Def Tech ProCinema speakers. I was going to buy Bose, but when I heard these, I was blown away. For the price, these are some of the best-sounding speakers on the market. The bass is very clean and the highs are precise. They were very easy to install and set up. They are small and dont take a lot of room. They are perfect for what I wanted to do with my home theatre. I recommend these speakers to all my friends.

This is a great speaker system for a small room. Since I have a small room I set up the speakers with a Denon 1910 and a Panasonic G10 42inch plasma. WOW the sound is great for movies and music. It did take some time to get all the setting correct. I went to BATPIGs setup guide for Denon. That made things easy for me. So if you need speaker for a small room the ProCimema 60.6 system is for you.

I have these speakers connected to a Denon AVR1910 receiver and they sound great. The subwoofer can be connected in one of two ways and I have connected in the way the instructions say will produce less quality sound was easier to connect for my room set up and the sound is still great. I have speakers in a 12x15 room and there is more than enough power to shake the room and provide a cinema like movie experience.

The sound is incredible from such small speakers. Set up the subwoofer like the directions say, although unorthodox, it really works. No complaints. I highly recommend, especially at Vanns price. I saved $300 from a local store!

I recieved these in the mail and had them hooked up and running with in 30 min. The satellites blend in perfectly with the subwoofer. This system can get pretty loud and can still produce the nuances of the moviemusic that I am listening to even at lower volumes. These is my 1st set of speakers from Definitive Thechnology and my 1st purchase from Vanns. I could not be any happier. Easy set up great sound and very inexpensive. With the free shipping that Vanns is offering you have nothing to lose. Try these you will not be dissapointed.
