These babys have some good power to them. Nice clean, crisp sound. The dialogue is very clear in movies and music. Pair with a Klipsch sub and you have a top notch system for this pricepoint.

More than an upgrade. My classical recordings now sing with such clarity that I can hear the woodwinds tongue each note. I can hear the musicians working along with the sonnance of their instruments.
The LCR speakers are larger than I expected and the sound is very directional. While they are not large in a general sense, they occupy a uniquely shaped space that you have to account for. Once they are situated you will be in for a show! However, it is diminished if you are not directly in line with them, which means choosing the correct hight also. This was a problem with my center speaker because my TV is set low to begin with.
In every aspect I feel that I have received a quality product, right down to the heavy gauge rubber feet for the stands.
Thanks Vanns!

I guess Ill start off with WOW. This speaker package far exceeded my expectations. Im coming from Klipsch promedia 2.1s to 5.1 ultras to these. I loved the sound of the 5.1 ultras, but never realized how much sound I was missing until listening to the Quintet SLs.
These are bigger than I thought they were going to be. Which isnt a bad thing, as they look great next to my TV. Once powered by my Pioneer Elite receiver, I was amazed at the amount of mid bass these 3.5 woofers spit out. The horns are also crystal clear, which Ive always loved about Klipsch speakers.
This is truly a steal. Stop thinking about it, and buy them! Im sure in terms of looks, performance and price this pass the WAF test with flying colors.
Thank you Vanns.com, your prices are truly amazing!

If youre looking for a 5.1 surround sound system that delivers crisp, clean highs, amazing mids and powerful lows, but you have limited space and a limited budget, then the Klipsch SL Quintet system paired with the Synergy ten inch sub, is perfect!
I was looking for a system that was small but didnt deliver small sound. After doing some research, I knew that I needed a Klipsch system to fit my wants. Next I went to one of those big over priced electronic stores and found what I wanted, the Klipsch SL Quintets but the price was way out of my budget. Well, after I spoke with my brother, he sent me to vanns.com. I saved over $600 dollars on the system! Needless to say, Vanns.com is the ONLY place Ill shop for my electronic needs, period!

Let me start with what I had and what I was looking for. I had 3 Klipsch RVX42MSRP $450 each front LCR Speakers and 2 Klipsch SS.5 Surround speakers, an Energy S10.3 subwoofer everything driven by an Onkyo 7.1 Speakers everything bought for VannsMy Favourite company for AudioVideo, which I rate better than Amazon
I had bought 2 Mirage Nanosatsgot sucked by Mirages omni sound propaganda and Vanns great price as rear speakers but they sucked really bad and so I was looking for something which will perform comparable to my other speakers and I should stress this I did not want any compromise at the quality. I had a budget of $800 for just 2 rears and 2 surrounds.
I was apprehensive about buying speakers with 3.5 woofers as I thought I will be loosing a lot on the vocals and dialogues but could not pass Vanns price tag with a free sub. So bought them thinking, If I donot like these Vanns will be more than happy to these back as they did with Nanosats.
Got them shipped Free and Fast !!! and were easily hooked up to my receiver.
My first impressions
1. Great Packing.
2. Great looks well they look even greater without grills
3. High quality build. I thought 6.6lb speakers should be light but no, even the satelites 3.5lb ooze great design and quality.
Performance
Well this is the best part. They have an amazing sound. I was expecting that these might sound tinny and thin but on the contrary anything from 100Hz to beyond your hearing capacity is reproduced with astonishing uniformity. I could not believe it that the sound was coming from 3.5 woofers. Quintet SL LCRs sound as great as my RVX-42s in a side by side comparison. Which I think RVX42 had been the best speakers I have heard to, well in the $1200speaker range.
The satelites seem to be a little more revealing because of only one woofer and a different position of the port. But in terms of dialogues, I could not make a slight difference between satelites and quintet LCRs and since the surrounds are meant for mainly rattles and screeches, they are far more than adequate.
All the speakers shine even better with music where their tweeters do a fine job of faithfully reproducing everything the artist wanted to. And no, I was not cranking up the volume, I had to actually turn down the volume considerably. Since these are very efficient speakers, I had to move down from 45 on my receiver to 38 to maintain the same audio level.
The only difference I could notice between RVX42 and Quintet LCRs is that quintets are a little less warm than the RVXs but hey thats understable because of their sizeweight and price. But I am sure not many people can make out the difference.
If you wanna a compact hometheater for upto a medium size 20X20ft room, I think these will do the job with out burning your receiver. Yes You need a sub and I would suggest Energy Subs S10.3, S8.3 for their price at Vanns, design and performance.

These speakers replaced my Bose Acoustimass 10 series IV speakers. Im using them with the Klipsch SUB-12 and a Harman Kardon AVR247 7.1 receiver. These Klipsch speakers absolutely blow Bose off the map. They look and sound so good in my large greatroom with 22 foot high ceiling. I have them mounted on the wall 15 feet apart. They are simple to mount - just use a long piece of paper and, using a pencil, make a template of the keyholes on the back of the LCR speakers. Then just put screws in the wall with appropriate dry-wall anchors for your specific application. They hold firmly if using good dry-wall anchors. I used the self drilling metal anchors with great success.
These speakers have a good frequency response. Set the crossover for the LCR speakers to 80 Hz. Set the surrounds at 120 Hz. Set the Sub-12 to crossover at 100 hz and they will blend nicely.
These are great speakers and both movies and songs sound great. Remember, however, that you need a good receiver to make any set of speakers sound good. Harman Kardon is my receiver of choice.
