Precision

A major challenge to in-wall speaker installations is positioning. Often, an in-wall speaker's audio is best experienced only within a narrow zone in front of the speaker, dramatically constricting the ideal listening position. The Definitive Technology DI 6.5LCR speaker, however, ushers in-wall speakers into the rank of high-performance, wide-dispersion home theater speakers. Because the 1.0" aluminum-dome tweeter is equipped with a pivoting design, high-frequency audio can be directed toward your principle listening area for improved soundstage performance. Further, the use of two, large 6.5" woofer ensures broad, immersive mid-range and low-frequency audio dispersion, making every seat in your living room the best in the house.

BDSS . . . and beyond

The driver technologies used in the construction of the DI 6.5LCR's dual 6.5" bass/midrange drivers define "high-performance". First, A cast PolyStone integrated baffle/basket assembly maximizes rigidity for minimized resonance. Second, a soft sanoprene AeroRing further damps basket resonance as well as aids in the dispersion of sound around your listening area. Third, an air-core conductor facilitates clearer, more dynamic midrange response. But topping the list is Definitive Technology's Balanced Dual Surround System, a.k.a. BDSS. This driver-surround design supports the speaker cone at two points, providing improved mechanical stability. The result is nothing less than longer, more linear excursion and improved damping and suppression of parasitic cone resonance.

Beautifully Designed In-Wall Speakers. Great speakers for the price. Not in the same league as B&Ws or Thiels in-walls, but also not in that price level either. I prefer these over Polks. Im still waiting for the speakers to break-in as I just installed them. Ill provide an update then.

These speakers were super easy to install and handle all my needs in my theater area. Pair them with a solid sub and your golden! Vanns couldnt be a better company to deal with.

2 things to comment on.

First off the vendor, Vanns, took my order through Amazon and immediately notified me to let me know that they were responsible for the order and for me as their customer. Very cool!! The product was shipped the next business day and arrived as promised in perfect condition. Kudos to Vanns, I will be back.

Second the speaker is an in-wall and is very stealthy in appearance barely noticeable. The quality of the product and the sound produced are both outstanding and super value for the price.
