I recently installed these speakers in my Master Bedroom connected to a Denon AVR-4306 with all digital inputs optical, Blu-ray via HDMI, etc. and tuned using the AVR Audyssey auto-setup. Overall the speakers sound OK - they are definitely better than the cheap cubes that I replaced, but are they as good as my floorstanding JBL studio series in my living room, no. Do they look great, yes.
The sound is too hollow high treble-y compared to what I would expect from high end speakers, even with the -3db adjustment and Audyssey tuning.
Overall, for cheap cheap is relative to the individual, great looking, name brand architectural speakers, not in your primary home theater, I would recommend them. If youre looking for an audiophile experience, these are definitely not the speakers for you.
Also of note, I have them paired with a Klipsch matching sub and they still sound too treble-y. I do have concrete floors, which is probably also worth noting.
Last point, installation was very simple and easy and the build quality is great. The one challenge was removing the grills once on - this is extremely difficult to do, especially without damaging them.
