If you need some new speakers and don't want to break the bank, you might think you have to compromise on quality. But, we've got exciting news: popular Polk Audio released the TSi series that has high-end capabilites at an extremely affordable price. That's because they have anti-diffraction grilles, and they're designed to be really efficient, so that you can power them even with older receivers. Plus, they produce decadent surround sound, and look great with any decor. THe CS10 is the center channel for this series, and we recommend using it with the PSW111 powered subwoofer, and the rest of the Polk TSi series, for optimum results.
Organic fiber cones
It isn't ice cream, but you would think so with all the types of speaker cones out there. What's a cone? It's the part of your speaker that delivers the audio. And, because sound reproduction is an art, there are probably as many materials to make and coat cones with as there are colors in an artist's paint set. Materials are chosen for stiffness, flexibility, and dampening ability. Quality midrange and bass drivers are usually made from paper, paper composites and laminates, or plastic materials such as polypropylene or mineral/fiber filled polypropylene. The surround may be resin-treated cloth, resin treated non-wovens, polymeric foams, or thermoplastic elastomers over-molded onto the cone body. The Polk CS10 center speaker has an organic fiber cone for strength and flexibility, with silk domes that produce a smooth, airy sound in the tweeters.
Are you for or against anti-diffraction grilles?
It's now time to talk to you about a special cause known as anti-diffraction. We here at Vann's are really concerned about distortion. And no — not distortion in the media, but distortion OF your media. You know, your home-theater audio experience? Diffraction is a type of distortion that occurs when sound reflects off an object such as a grille frame. The re-radiated sounds smear the original sound, much like ghost images on a TV smear the picture. Except instead of a ghost image, you get boxy-sounding audio. Well, James Polk wasn't president for nothing: let's just say he worked long and hard to pass the first "anti-diffraction grille" (rhymes with bill), so that audio can be free from the boxiness — because you have the right to great audio! Polk's anti-diffraction "Floating Grilles" lift the grilles literally off the baffle area, minimizing grille-edge reflections for clearer sound and more open imaging. (Bet you didn't know President Polk was such an audiophile back in the 1800s, did you.)
Ok, maybe we exaggerate about Polk
Maybe President Polk didn't actually know anything about speakers, but Polk Audio does. So, when you pick up a pair of speakers, dont forget to get the appropriate cables! I got to say that this speakers sound great, aswell as great voice matching, and deep sound bass. I like the way that it has a clean, shinny gloss to the structure of this speakers. FOr the price that I paid, it makes my friends and family members think that I paid a fortune, specially when I crank it up they get blown out for it crystal clear sound. I really recommen this speaker to anyone that want an affordable price, and a great sound.

Bought the CS10 to go with Vienna Bach front speakers on my new home theater installation. Speaker looks great and fits perfectly in the bookshelf above the HDTV. The sound quality matches the Bach speakers which are high end speakers and high cost. Tuned the system with my new Yamaha AV receiver and the three front speakers all had a 0dB level indicating same sound levels. I dont have a subwoofer yet and the CS10 was rated a large speaker by the receiver and bass response is quite good. I would look into other Polk speakers when needed.

I was told that a good center channel would make a difference, but I was a bit skeptical. Much to my suprise, it made my HT system A LOT louder and crisper. I would reccomend this to anyone looking for great sound at a great value. I have this paired with two polk floorstanding and two polk rears.
I could not be more happy with the purchase.
Vanns did a great job shipping and the speacker came carefully wrapped and in great shape.

Its not really a review, I just love this speaker, it is clear produces plenty of bass and has all the volume you could ever need, well i will need. Its big, i mean big, if you are new to this home theater thing you will be suprised. This cs10 is paired with two polk tsi100s a fronts, a yamaha yst sub and some old jbls that i blew and needed to replace as rears for now, and the onkyo 607. simply put i was amazed when i watched my first blu ray with this new setup and the heart of this speaker setup is the cs10 center, just buy one already. And vanns had the lowest price, lower than the reconditioned ones polk was selling, and its new.

I have owned the CS10 Center for about a year now. I utilize this center with a 5.1 Polk set-up and could not be happier. This is a LARGE speaker! Considering MOST of the dialogue comes from your center you want to have a capable center with large drivers to deliver full rich dialogue. The CS10 delivers and succeeds its duties. With tremendous mids this center will leave you in aw over the voice reproduction on your movies. The overall build quality of this center is fantastic, the piano finish really sets this center apart from other brands. If you are looking for an overall great performing center that cost far less than its competitors, look no further.

I have been using the Polk CS10 center channel speaker for about a month now and Im very pleased with my purchase. I incorporated the CS10 into a 3.1 system consisting of 2 Polk Monitor 70 fronts and the CS10 center. This center channel speaker has performed very well and has made watching TV and movies more enjoyable. Here is a break down of some key features of this speaker.
Sound -
The sound produced from the CS10 is clear and accurate when watching TV, Blu-Ray discs, or DVDs. This speaker really brings the vocal dialogue of TV or a movie to life and is a huge upgrade from my built-in TV speakers.
Build -
The wood used in manufacturing this speaker gives it a very solid feel. Even the portions that are plastic feel very sturdy. The front grill is well constructed and gives the speaker a clean and classic look. When holding the CS10, you can tell it is a quality product.
Size -
The CS10 is a little on the large size, so make sure you have enough room in front of your TV or on a cabinet shelf to fit this speaker.
Overall, I found the Polk CS10 to be a reasonably priced center channel speaker that has a quality build and exceptional sound.
A note on Vanns -
I order my CS10 from Vanns and the transaction was great. My order was promptly shipped and arrived on time. The speaker was also packaged very well which is always a concern for me when ordering electronics online. This was my first purchase from Vanns and I would purchase from them again.

The CS-10 has great clarity and presence, which was lacking from my previous center speaker. These attributes are important to me because I suffer from bi-lateral high frequency loss and sometimes had difficulty separating dialog from surrounding sounds and noise. This speaker system represents a great improvement and increased my listening pleasure. I made my selection based on listening to various competitve brands in retail stores.

Wonderful sound broad range of highs and lows no annoying blare at high sound levels. In replacing our previous center speaker, we immediately noticed a tremendous difference. This speaker can obviously handle surround-sound movies, but more importantly to us, it provides great sound for sports events, like the Super Bowl, by providing broad range to enjoy sounds of the big game without having announcers voices being annoyingly loud.
