Of drivers and ports
While a variety of design considerations are essential to producing a loudspeaker capable of delivering powerful yet clear audio, two stand out above the rest: a speaker's drivers and its cabinet. First, while the CS225C employs a 1.0" Kortec soft-dome tweeter to serve up crystalline high-frequency audio, it turns to two 5.25" graphite-injected polymer woofers with Deep Channel Design technology to reproduce full bass and mid-range audio. Second, enhancing the reproduction of controlled, efficient bass audio, the CS225C sports a bass-reflex cabinet design. By freeing the movement of air behind the speaker's drivers, the acoustically tuned bass-reflex port not only allows for greater speaker efficiency but also achieves improved bass extension and performance.

Bought this to replace a Polk center channel, the Boston center sounds great! Its as good as your gonna get in a two way speaker IMHO. I noticed voice comes through better and useing less power. Great quality and sound, cant be beat without spending allot more money.

I first bought one of these to try out because of the Great Price, Free Shipping and the name Vanns and Boston Acoustics. You can't get any better than this Deal for the best price anywhere, with Free Shipping. After I had a chance to listen to this speaker I was in total awe. I then saw the deal again on FaceBook and had to buy two more. And just as the first one, I received my package within two days packed in two boxes. Vanns goes all out to satisfy thier customers and I will buy from them any time they offer something that I am shopping for , even if I have to spend a few dollars extra !!

Its a Great addition to my Home Theater System. I'm using Energy speakers for my front and surround, a Sony subwoofer, and a Pioneer Home Theater Receiver. Using the Boston Acoustics Center Channel Speaker CS225CB really enhanced the dialogue in movies and Vocals in Music. Its a bit bulky and heavy though, but it doesn't really bother me. I still give this center Channel a 55 rating.

The Klipsch RW-10d subwoofer sounds great in my medium-sized living room 17x20 and look forward to using it in my new home in a much larger space. Presently, its set at half output and is more than enough. Nice clean bass - worth the extra $ vs a 100w sub. Its a welcome replacement for the Onkyo sub that came with the receiver.

I have the Boston Acoustics Speakers CS225CB for my 5.1 system. It is well matched, and amazing clarity in mid range. The bass is a little lacking, and can be offset with a good sub. The sounds are very crisp, and are totally worth the price!

I had been using a Cambridge Soundworks CenterStage and often found dialogue difficult to hear and understand. The Boston Acoustics CS225CB has improved intelligibility so much that I can run the overall level much lower, and still understand the dialogue perfectly. The mid-high range of this speaker is bright, clear, and just amazing. Great speaker!!

This Black center speaker CS225CB looks great along with my Onkyo home theater system. Sound is much better than the original Onkyo one in terms of clarity. It came in great shape in the factory box, together with an additional box that Vanns used. Boston Acoustics and Vanns both did a good job here. Thanks Vanns. Check the measurements in front of your TV and this speaker before you order. My entertainment stand does not have room for the speaker and I thought I could just rest it in front of the TV. My TV is not mounted. This center channel speaker truly enhances the audio for all TV viewing aspects. Cable, movies, video games. I’m no audiophile, but I can already appreciate the difference with the added depth and fullness that this center channel provides. There is an added realism to your programs. I had the volume up during a couple arguing on screen and my dog who was in the other room came running back into the living room because the dog thought there were ppl yelling outside! Dialogue is more crisp and I find myself not rewinding as much to catch something that was missed. I write this review without comparing my experience to other center channel speakers, but from the other reviews, I already agree that the tweeter and woofers are more than enough power, and that’s what you want in a theater system…more power than you need. It’s better than finding out the speaker you ordered is underpowered for your needs. I feel like Tim Allen right now. Great value for your money. Vanns always has great deals!

Needless to say, the speaker beats anything else offered in that price range XD Replaced the center speaker that came with my 5-channel Energy set cheapo $150 set. Massive amounts of mid bass is what I needed, since I have a very good 12 sub. Mid bass I got Now I just gotta find a good set of front speakers. Will be on the look out for the same series Bostons.

I purchased this center channel along with subwoofer CSSUB10B speaker to replace Cambridge Soundworks pieces. While Cambridge Soundworks speakers are very high quality, Boston Accoustics turned out to be a visible and audible improvement. Vanns took care of shipping speakers the best way possible. They arrived quick and sound and Im very happy about my choice of merchant.

I wanted an affordable, compact, center channel speaker of good quality to replace the TV 61 speakers in my home video 5.1 setup. This speaker was a good fit. It sits comfortablty and inobtrusively in front of the TV on the video console, without blocking picture or remote port. I was careful to check this before I ordered and rejected some similar speakers because of their size. Also, since the TV is black, it blends in very nicely. The sound is MUCH better than the TV speakers especially noticible on dialogue. It adds a lot to the system at a very affordable price. A good purchase for me.

The classic series by Boston Acoustics is an excellent bargain for what you get. The sound quality is rally great, the build quality is excellent and, best of all, they dont break the bank.
I would definitely recommend this series for anyone interested in high quality sound for a reasonable price.

Since hooking up my CS225CB, in place of another center channel which sounded muffled, I was so pleased with the tight bass and the crisp highs. This Boston Acoustics center channel speaker fit perfectly above my CRT T.V. and because its shielded, I have no problem with interference which I had with my previous center speaker. The Boston Acoustics CS225CB was such a great buy and a great price, Im more than satisfied with my purchase from Vanns. I read other reviews on this item and was pleased to read of the outstanding comments on this great find. if your looking for budget minded quality, you will also be MORE THAN SATISFIED! The packaging was also impressive. Not only was it cushioned from the factory but was also cushioned from Vanns in another box. Way to go Vanns and thanks.

The main reason to buy any speaker is for the sound quality. Watts are way over-rated if the speaker sounds bad. This Boston sounds awesome! It is clear, well defined and has a nice range. The ported bass has nice presence without overbearance or mud. Highly recommend!

I bought this speaker to begin upgrading from stereo to surround. It is proving to be an excellent match for my older Boston CR-9s, which Im using as main L-R. Highs are smooth and clear, mids are warm and natural. Fantastic value.

Getting the correct quality of sound from a center speaker is not easy, this unit drives across the entire spectrum with an assured well balanced sound. Vocal and spoken wor is crisp and bright. Well constructed with top quality components and available at a great price. You may have to be creative when finding a suitable location, wall brackets or a shelf seem the best solution

It may not be for everyone but the BA CS225s that I purchased is the perfect sound for my living room suround sound tv. The price was unbeatable anywhere and the free shipping closed the deal. Bought this speaker because it was one of the few that would fit into my stereo cabinet, while still having the size speakers to classify it as an averagelarge size center channel speaker. It works very well, and for the price, its excellent. It has a nice simple design with matte sides, not this glossy spacecraft type finish that I personally dont care for. Im not an audiophile, but it was a step above my Pyle center channel speaker that I had before, which was just an entry level speaker. As with all speakers, if this speaker isnt matched with your effect speakers sizebrand, expect to do some tweaking on your receiver to make everything match up and sound acceptable together. Basically this speaker is in a class of its own due to its price, so if youre looking to not spend a boatload while still getting reliable sounds, BA is always a safe bet.
On another note, Vanns delivery was quick and very well packaged. This is my first purchase with them but they seem to be very customer driven.
