Bass . . . it's fundamental
When you watch an action flick, you don't want meek explosions, you want resounding detonations! When you watch a musical or listen to your favorite album, you don't want a timid score, you want high acoustical drama! You want the audio experience offered by a home speaker system that includes a subwoofer. Completing your listening and viewing experience with deep, full bass audio, the Jamo SUB 300 combines a 10" long-throw driver with a built-in BASH amplifier offering 300W of peak power output. The improved efficiency offered by BASH power amplification minimizes heat, allowing for improved, consistent bass output. Achieve a complete home theater experience with a Jamo SUB 300 in your system.
From control to customization
No home theater area is the same. Different loudspeaker designs and arrangements, as well as different room sizes and layouts, all create a unique sonic atmosphere. Ensuring that the SUB 300 blends perfectly with your listening environment and musical preferences, Jamo has designed this powered subwoofer with a variety of manual control options. First, continuously variable level, phase, and cut-off frequency controls give you the power to tune the SUB 300 for optimal integration into any speaker system, as well as for ideal performance according to different placements and your personal listening preferences. Second, while many subwoofers feature volume controls on the rear of the speaker, the SUB 300's front-mounted volume controls give you quick access for fast, simple adjustments.
Added bass performance
Thanks to its slotted-port cabinet design, the Jamo SUB 300 ranks as a vented-enclosure subwoofer (also known as a bass-reflex sub), allowing you to experience enhanced low-frequency reproduction. Vented systems use the sound produced at the rear side of the driver's diaphragm to increase the efficiency of the system at low frequencies by taking advantage of the resonance of ports or vents designed into the enclosure. The air mass in the cylindrical ports resonates in response to the movement of the air behind the diaphragm within the enclosure, similar to the way that the air in a glass bottle resonates when you blow air across its mouth. The Jamo SUB 300's vented design extends low-frequency bass performance and, simultaneously, allows for a more modest enclosure size that won't dominate space in your living room.

Just received the Jamo Sub300 from Vanns. Did a quick installation, put on DTS version of Jurassic Park and felt the room shake as the dinosaur landed on its front feet after pulling leaves from a tall tree.
Will adjust settings, but for now I am impressed. Much better bass response than my old JBL sub.
Vanns shipped quickly and it was packaged well.

this sub is great provides plenty of thump, yet is compact and good looking and most important CHEAP..
dont listen to the guy above who says you need to connect it to a pre amp or pre outs (edited for content)
works fine I tested it with YAMAHA 2200 receiver
and a PIONEER 1019, and Pioneer elite all work fine. and plenty loud using JUST THE LFE LEFT connector. you dont need the stereo connectors unless you have 7.2 receiver with stereo LFE
which is rare.. just hook up to LFE left connector and it works great..
for anything under $500 this sub rocks..
and since KLIPSCH owns JAMO you know the quality is there
good pick VANNS, kudos to you..
enjoy

The sub-300 performs well when connected with a left and right RCA cable coming from a pre-out front speaker output from a receiver or a left and right subwoofer output. I first used the single RCA cable included with the sub into the LFE connection but lacked the punch. It is primarily because the 7 channel Pioneer receiver speaker outputs sounds flat. Coming out of the Pioneer amplifier front pre-outs,I am using a 120 watt rms high current design Harman Kardon amplifier to drive the Jamo sub 300 with my front speakers. With a slight adjustment from the sub cut-off frequency attenuator it sounded far beyond my expectations and blended well with all of my 8 surround speaker system. Love the frequency spec. down to 28 Hz, the front volume control and the handsome cabinet.
