It's all in the amp
Sunfire has a tradition of excellence when it comes to subwoofers, often leading the field in innovation and performance. They're known for producing subs that are small in size but large in sound, offering both low frequency response and high volume. Their latest Dynamic Series are ready to carry on that tradition, albeit at a much more affordable price than Sunfire's top-of-the-line subwoofer models. Part of Sunfire's ability to coax big sound from small boxes is their use of high-efficiency amplifiers in their subwoofers. Using high-efficiency amplifiers means you get more acoustic output for each Watt of input. And, because the input power is output as sound instead of being "wasted" as heat, heat sinks are smaller or unnecessary and a smaller power supply is needed for the same output, so the amplifier is much smaller than other comparable models. The Dynamic Series uses class D digital amplifiers, recognized for their incredible inefficiency and small size. Class D amps are also generally fairly low-cost, though, and so Sunfire has passed the savings on to you. Big sound, small size, AND a great price? How can you say no?
Two cones are better than one
Most subwoofers these days are either forward-firing or down-firing. The SDS8 is both. It features a front-firing active woofer paired perfectly to another 8" down-firing passive radiator. These two together will give you plenty of "thump" when you turn up the volume, and with up to 400W of peak power, let's just say you may want to consider bolting down the furniture. OK, so that may be a slight exaggeration, but seriously, the combination of the two long-throw drivers can get as loud as a jackhammer without losing quality, so you can rest assured that they'll bring the bass in your home theater.
The missing link(s)
One thing that often isn't accounted for when setting up quality home theater systems is the cables. However, if you use low-quality cables, your results just aren't going to be as good as they could be, no matter how great your AV components are. This is especially true when it comes to analog audio cables. The last thing you want is for your killer system's sound to be ruined by sub-standard cables, so be sure to check out our selection of quality cables before you check out.

The sound quality of this sub is great, no distortion at the max output delivering a clean deep bass. It has the Auto-on function that is so well designed that you will not hear any pop when it is connected to the power or when it is turned on you cannot hear absolutely anything, not even the softest humming. The wireless transmitter and receiver work fantastic. I called Sunfireās tech department and asked their opinion about using the SDS8 in a 26 x 33 room. Their suggestion was that, instead of going for the SDS12, I should try the SDS8 first, and if not completely satisfied I would be better getting a 2nd SDS8, assuming that I was looking for hi-fi. This single SDS8 is perfect for this room after trying and testing the different amps settings. Finally, Vanns is an authorize distributor that means the warranty is honored by the manufacturer.

After did alot of research online. I give sunfire new DS8 a try, and it abit disappointed. First of all when Sunfire say the DS8 is for a small room they mean really SMALL for 200w sub?. I have to crank the volume all the way up, to get good bass. But at that high volume highly distortion. Any way i do give Sunfire for it performance for lowclear deep bass. Second it made are are cheap luxury for all doesnt come close. Maybe i expected too much from Sunfire. Should have gone with Velodyne Impact-12. Will i recommend for the product, maybe DS12?. But for the money i would look else where.
