I am constantly amazed with my consistant pleasure in using hte ereader. It is a wonderfully Green alternative to paper books. And since the publishers are really catching on, i can get a majority of my recreational reading for this format. The down side is i cannot get my Textbooks and Resource manuals. But i am sure with constant push with your favorite publishers, this too will be available. |

Love my Sony Reader! Bought it in March from Vanns because they had the best price! Still do! Ive already read a book and am on my second. Downloading and working with Ebooks is a snap. My husband borrowed it and now he wants one! We are both avid readers and this will definitely cut down on the number of books cluttering up the house! |

I am an avid reader without access to a bookstore - a situation that is almost unbearable but luckily the advent of e-books has eased the pain somewhat. Nothing, however, compares with spending a quiet afternoon browsing a bookstore.
That said, e-books are the next best thing and the Sony 505 Reader is the next best thing to an actual book.
The screen is astonishingly clear and easy to read and that is a must after spending 10 hours plus working with a PC. The menus and navigation are rather intuitive, the buttons, however, are a bit stiff and might be too small for a person with large hands.
The major complain is that e-reading devices are locked into a specific file format. This is true for the Sony Reader as well, at least to a certain extent, but there are so many free books available on the Internet as well as several great conversion programs that running out of reading material is not something I will be facing soon.
I recommend this item to anybody who is an avid reader, loves to get his or her books NOW, and who has a bit of extra money to spend because this lovely and incredibly useful gadget does not come cheap - but neither is gas running to the library...
