I'll tell you a little story. Once upon a time there was a little lead particle. It was really lonely. It went rolling along, rolling along, rolling along, until it came upon a particle of Mercury. "Hey there, Mercury, wanna hang out with me?" queried Lead. "Why sure, Lead," replied Mercury, and off they went. They floated along, floated along and floated along, and suddenly they found themselves at the corner, approaching a crowd of other particles. Sure enough, there were Toxaphene, p-dichlorobenzene, Carbofuran, Alachlor and Benzene. "Hey guys!" said Lead and Mercury. That's when p-dichlorobenzene swaggered forward. "Wanna stir up some trouble?" He growled. "Let's go down to the Watering Hole and jump into some Humans!" "Yeah!" said the gritty voices of Carbofuran, Alachlor and Benzene, "We're sick of just hanging around!"

A few moments later. . .

A few moments later, they were all staring down the deep ravine known as the Watering Hole. "Errrr....I'm not so sure about this, boss," Toxaphene somewhat bravely whined, "I heard sometimes you go down there and never come back!" "Awww you big chicken-eating-bacteria!" taunted the others, and Carbofuran grabbed hold of Toxaphene's arm and yelled "JUMP!!!!"

Unfortunately. . .

But unfortunately the particles should have listened to Toxaphene, because the Watering Hole was equipped with a GE Replacement Water filter, and they never made it inside the Human. Rumor has it they sat in that filter for an entire six months, until they were transferred to the big Particle Party in the sky.

And what's the moral of our nearly-true tale? Change your water filter as directed, because you don't want to let any of these guys through — especially not Toxaphene the whiner.
