How it works

Read on and you'll quickly see that the omnimount is the real deal. Most flat-panel mounts have big, bulky posts that get attached to the walls, taking up most of the back of the TV. The omnimount is a totally new take on wallmounting your TV. Instead of bulky metal pieces, it nods to nature by minimizing resource use. Instead of the rods, it uses four wall brackets and four Lift n' Lock attachments. The brackets go where your TV will be mounted. The attachments go on the back of the TV. Then just lift the television up and slide the attachments into the brackets and you're good to go.

If the idea of trying to line up wall brackets evenly and correctly for your flat panel sounds daunting, you need to read this. First of all, the omnimount comes with everything you need to set up, except the TV and the wall of course. It's compatible with VESA 100 x 100 to 400 x 400 and supports most TVs from a 13" screen class to the massive 42" class. In drywall, it will hold 40 lbs, but in single-stud or masonry walls, that number moves up to 80 lbs. Those numbers make it the strongest mount pound-for-pound available. So, now that you know your TV's covered, it comes with two separate templates, a standard template with a built-in level for patterns up to VESA 200 x 200, and an expanded template for patterns up to 400 x 400. All you have to do is put the template on the wall, make sure the level's bubble is in the middle, and go for it! Then screw the attachments in to the TV and all you have to do is lift the TV onto the brackets to enjoy your new wall-mounted flatscreen!

I ordered this product to hang a 42 Panasonic Plasma TV. The mounting bolts that came with the TV were too big for the mounting pegs that come with the kit, so I had to rig it up. I ended up attaching a piece of plywood to the TV and then attaching the mounting pegs to that. I then attached the mounting peg receivers onto the wall, hung the TV and it worked well for my specific low profile needs. The design is simpler than anything else I could find and is the lowest profile I could find as well. I was able to make it work because the design was so simple. They should make a kit for larger applications so that others dont face the same challenges I did.
