I havent installed this bulb yet but was happy to see it arrive in identical packaging to one I purchased a couple of years ago directly from Sony. I tried a lower priced one before ordering from Vanns from one of the many retailers offering them and even though they advertised it as being made by the same company that makes the bulbs for Sony, Im convinced it wasnt! it showed up in a cute little package with a polar bear on it that looked professional, but upon installation the bulb was dimmer than the one I was replacing after several thousand hours. I kept the old one as a back up and went forward anyway. After a month the aftermarket one burnt out so I turned to Vanns for an OEM bulb. As I say it arrived in what looks to be OEM packaging but I havent installed it as I am waiting for the other OEM bulb to become u-nwatchable or burn out. For now though... I think I have what I should have bought in the first place.

The manufacturer of my projector wanted way too much money. I had previously purchased from another on-line service and the lamp was a cheap knock off that was very dim and actually failed after a few months of use. Vanns answered my questions regarding product manufacturer and guarantee in English. The lamp arrived on time, and it was in fact an original product - way to go! The price was great, the product could not have been better original, but it was the awesome service delivered over the phone that secured my business for future purchases!

This lamp is the replacement lamp for our Sony VPL-HS51. The price was considerably less than I could buy it directly from Sony. It arrived in perfect condition and in a very timely manner. I was very happy with the way my order was handled.
