The Harmony 670 is my first real universal remote and it lives up to the Harmony lines good reputation. I actually enjoyed programming it and tweaking the programmable buttons. It runs all of my components with no problem including my iPod which runs through my Pioneer receiver via USB and displays on my TV with the OSD function.
This remote also works well with my Next Generation Remote Extender which allows all of my components to be hidden in an adjacent room. A good universal remote with AAA batteries was a requirement for my system. Nearly every button can be programmed which is a must when trying to effectively run a non-typical application such as the iPod.
Logitechs software that comes with it is very user-friendly and works well. The 670 fits comfortably in your hand and the buttons are easy to navigate. I was leery from the picture that it would look dated but I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled it out of the box - very stylish and modern looking with the blue glow and LCD screen.
This remote would suit a novice as well as someone who is more tech-savvy. Im somewhere in between but recommend the Harmony 670 to anyone who is weary of fumbling through several remote controls.

Just bought an H670 from Vanns...the best price by far. I had the older H659 for four years, got great service and support. Im not an AV pro, called support for help and they set me up in minutes. They also helped me add components over the years. I researched the newer models and felt the 670 was perfect as an upgrade. It has better button positions and clustering for the intuitive user. I have eight components hooked up and they work flawlessly. Best of all I didnt have to program my new remote. I just downloaded the data from Logitech and away I went. I highly recommend the Harmony 670 for the average mid-tech user!

I purchased this remote along with a new TV a while back and I should have written the review sooner. The remote is awesome. I will start with the one negative, which I do not hold against the remote. Batteries, if I had even thought about it I would have paid the extra money to upgrade to one of the other Harmony remotes that are rechargeable. I bought rechargeable batteries and they work fine, but in my opinion it is worth a few more clams to get one that charges on a dock.
The positives are everything else. I found it extremely easy to program, all you need are a computer and the model numbers from your equipment. The remote works beautifully, to watch TV or a DVD or listen to CDs. I have a lot of components hooked up and this remote handles all of them. Every time I use the remote, I am in awe of it. My wife loves it, my friends love it.
I suggest you shell out some money and get a Harmony remote. If you can buy the next one up with the rechargeable batteries, if not this one still kicks booty.

I just received this remote from Vanns. It is a great remote and easy to use. To program the remote all you have to do is install the software and then hook the remote up to your PC with the included USB cable. It then connects to the internet and downloads any updates. After that is done it walks you through setting up the remote. This is the first remote that I have owned that will work all my equipment. What makes it nice is all you have to do is hit one button for whatever you want to watch and it will turn everything on to the correct settings. The only draw back is when you turn everything off, you have to keep the remote pointed at the devices for a few seconds. Once you get use to that it is not a problem. I would reccomend this remote to anyone who wants an easy all in one remote that will do everything.

I recently bought this from Vanns.
You dont have to be a computer geek to use the basic features of this remote. You do need to be more technically savvy to get the most out of this product.
There doesnt seem to be many devices it cannot conrtol thoroughly.
To correctly program this remote to watch a movie, I had to program it to 1. turn on dvd 2. turn on tv 3. turn on my receiver 4. delay next command for 10 seconds to give the dvd time to read the disk 5. call up Aspect for tv and 6. set screen ration to 169 for widescreen.
You do have to keep the remote pointed in the direction of your devices until it has executed all of the commands. This may take some getting used to, especially when executing a long command like the one above.
All in all, I LOVE this remote. Its the first one Ive ever owned that REALLY eliminates the need for the originals.
