Well, First of all I got this for a great price I love Vann’s. Second! it compliments my Yamaha RX-V867 Same Brushed black aluminum style perfectly. This product looks SEXY! in my Media Cabinet. It is an attractive setup Yamaha RX Receiver, Mirage Speakers, and the APC G5 and It sounds Great! This product provides clean power I guess my home has stable powerit was recently built because I did not notice any significant change in sound quality. But at the price I paid! if it was only a surge protector I would still be very very happy with this product. You can Dim the Display and LED indicators. It can also power up and power down devices in delayed intervals. I do not notice any significant heat from device, it runs cool in my cabinet This g5 is actually the part that makes my audio system look stunning. It is the eye catcher! Now, why did I buy this surge protector Well, Monster cost too much and I did not like the look of those, and I would have only save a few bucks if I had purchased a regular surge protector strip that would further clutter the back of my AV Cabinet. Two more things…. First....at work I deal a lot with APC products and they are not my favorite! They constantly have problems with battery components but this product seems very reliable. So the High score to me means a lot. Second thing…. I did not think twice about purchasing this because I was going to purchase a Bose 5.1 Lifestyle system V20, V25, V30 or V35. Why would that relate to this??? Well Bose I think is overpriced. I loved Bose for many years, then I purchased my first set of Computer 2.1 speakers from Bose and they are nice, good audio, but for what I paid....shheeeshh. lets just say I was no longer a die-hard bose fan. I did research on the hybrid speakers bose used and the material and decided I was not going to get a bose surround sound for my first quality sound system. I purchased Not all at Vann’s the Yamaha Receiver, Mirage 5.1 nanosat speakers, 200ft premium oxygen free speaker cable, APC G5 Power Surge & Filter, Jamo Center Speaker, AR Sub-woofer cable and a New AV Media Cabinet. All this for half of a V25! Yet! My system was not a plug and play system like Bose is!, I had to run my own speaker wire! But that is easy for me… hope this review helps..

This is a very nice power center for the price & is working great so far. If it is anything like my trouble-free APC ES-550 UPS for my computer, it should last a long time. Its simple to use & has a low profile for fitting in smaller spaces & a handy outlet on the front panel. It has so many features that are normally only found on more expensive units along with power surge protection & noise filtering. Living in Florida, the lightning capital of the US, I definitely need power protection. I especially like the sequential power up with adjustable delay which allows amplifiers & receivers to turn on last minimizing speaker thump. It also powers down in sequence, turning amplifiers off first. The G5 can also handle the power demands of my Adcom GFA-565 monoblocks thanks to the two high current outlets & with a 3400 joule surge rating & noise filtering, I know they are protected also.
With so many more features & better specs than many similar priced monster or panamax units & with a great Vanns price & free shipping the APC G5 was a no brainer for me.

I purchased two of these to replace a couple of Tripp Lite 1000 UPS units for my AV system. Initially I was going to get the Belkin PF-30 but after reading reviews of this APC unit and doing some research, these sounded too good to pass up especially for the low price at Vanns. I have used other APC power protection units and they have always been first rate.
The G5s are no exception. Beautiful appearance, excellent, solid build quality and fit and finish, and they work just fine. I figure I really dont need a UPS and it is best just to have the power control and filtering features of the G5.
It is very easy to set up, with clear directions. The front panel LCD is easy to read and has an adjustable brightness level as do the green LEDs. It tells you the voltage, current amp use, and whether there is a fault. It also lets you set the number of seconds delay from 1-60 for the 4 time-delay outlets, and also lets you adjust the allowable minimum and maximum voltages.
Im really happy with this and the price from Vanns is incredible - a real value. For just a few dollars more than the Belkin, I think I got a much better product.

The G5 is very easy to set. I like the delayed-on, always on and switched options. Compared to other power centers this one is alot cheaper. I have to give it a 5 for performance right now, since it applies power to my units. In case I have a power surge, etc and it fries my equipment I will most likely downgrade that if APG doesnt honor their protection guarantee.

These APC G5 units are the best you can do without spending at least twice as much. I needed 2 of them, since my equipment occupies 2 different corners of the room and I didnt want to spend a lot. No one else offers this kind of quality and feature set for this price.
They come with rack mounts intalled - just unscrew them and take them off if you are putting them on shelves like me. Then screw on the padded feet.
They give you plenty of outlets and great protection from surges, and adjustable limits on voltage to shut everything down so they dont continue to receive under or overvoltage. The time delayed outlets can be adjusted from 1-60 seconds. The LEDs can be turned off, the LCD cannot - however it can be set to a pretty low brightness so it isnt a huge problem. The unit does not make any noise - even if you listen for it.

I dock this item slightly for not allowing turning off of the LCD screen and for not spacing any of the outlets for larger plugs such as transformers. If you have any of those, youll end up using 2 outlets worth of space. For the design goals and price point though, it isnt enough to keep this from earning a high mark. Id give it a 4.55.

great price was $20 cheaper on deal of the day two days later though still love vanns for free shipping and no tax since ii live in cali with the termanator of education as the governor no tax helps with the price i pay for school activities now

Ive been using APC surge protectors for my computers for years. When looking for surge protection with line filters, I naturally looked at Monster and bought one. After purchasing my second TV, I wanted something better. While searching on the internet, I came across the G5. It had all the features sequence onoff, 3400J rating, LCD display, component footprint without the high price. And with APCs lifetime warranty, and Vanns great price and customer service, its a winner.

bought this to protect a recently bought receiver and subwoofer for which it has outlets labeled for each it seems well-built from its weight.and rackable configuration. I really like that it monitors current usage and percent of capacity and that it checks that the outlet is wired correctly and grounded. Plus APC is well known brand for server backup power supplies and at $120 it was cheaper than Monsters comparable

I decided to get some protection to a modest home theater system. HTPC, receiver, CD playerrecorder, tape deck, LCD HD. Little setup, easy to understand... even for those that know the protection is a value, but dont want to be all Einstein about it. I would and DO recommend this to anyone and everyone. Have owned a few APC products and they have held up wonderfully. Just buy it already...

Had it for a week or two. Looks cool stacked in with other components. I like that it has a high and low voltage cut off pretty much what its supposed to do by definition. Price seems extremely reasonable for this quality. Monster price inflated rip off.

This unit worked for about a month.....then completely stopped. I had difficulty getting in touch with anyone at the company, and Vanns just referred me to the company. So, I have a non-functioning unit and now I need to find the time to try to track down someone at APC to get it replaced, etc. It was a waste of money thus far.
