The MAX 5100PM is a power conditioner for home theaters. Level 3 power cleaning and linear filtration eliminates symptoms of contaminated power and allows your A/V equipment to perform up to its full capacity. Panamax's patent pending AVM circuitry continuously monitors the incoming power as displayed on the digital voltmeter.

Improves Picture and Sound Quality

The M5100PM uses Level 3 power cleaning and linear filtration to eliminate common symptoms of contaminated power (including loss of detail, pops, hisses, hums and visual artifacts) and allows your A/V equipment to perform up to its full capacity. The M5100PM is designed to provide noise isolation between 3 isolated outlet banks including 2 high current outlets so that any noise created by an A/V component can not contaminate the power going to equipment plugged into another outlet bank.

Monitors Incoming Line Voltage

Panamax's patent pending AVM circuitry continuously monitors the incoming power as displayed on the digital voltmeter. In case of an undervoltage or an overvoltage, a flashing lightning bolt will be displayed in red in the voltmeter, and power to the connected equipment is automatically turned off if either of these conditions is detected. When voltage returns to a safe level, power to the equipment is automatically connected.

Outlet Banks

Outlet Bank 1 consists of four always-on outlets with linear filtration technology (LiFT). Power will only be turned off under a fault condition. Power is cleaned by a two-stage balanced Pi filter which also provides noise isolation from Outlet Banks 2 and 3. Outlet Bank 2 has four isolated, switched outlets with linear filtration technology (LiFT) controlled by the front panel Power Button or the DC Trigger input. Bank 2 will turn on immediately and turn off after 10 seconds. LiFT EMI/RFI noise filtration is provided by a two-stage balanced Pi filter which also provides noise isolation from Outlet Banks 1 and 3. Outlet Bank 3 has two switched, high-current outlets controlled by the front panel Power Button or the DC Trigger input. Bank 3 has a 5 second turn on delay and turns off immediately. The High Current outlet provides power from a low impedance noise filtration circuit that does not limit the current to your equipment. Its output is noise isolated from all other outlet banks.

The MAX5100PM features 3 pairs of bidirectional protection circuits optimized for satellite, cable, and antenna TV signal lines. There are protection circuits for 10/100 baseT Ethernet lines as well as protection circuits for standard telephone or pay-per-view lines. The phone circuit is auto-resetting. Two high current outlets are there for equipment with high power demands (amps/subwoofers), and a USB charger provides convenience for charging MP3 players, cell phones, and other small electronics. The front panel features a LAN port, perfect for online gaming.

Other Great Features

The M5100PM utilizes a digital volt meter to monitor the voltage supplying your home theater equipment. A 12 Volt Trigger allows source equipment to activate or deactivate the outlets. Power sequencing guards against blown fuses and potentially damaging speaker thumb by automatically powering outlets on and off in sequence. AVM (Automatic Voltage Monitoring) protects equipment against prolonged over/under voltages by disconnecting the power and reconnecting it when safe power returns.

I have been using the 5100pm now for around a year. It is right in the middle in terms of price and features in the Panamax line. It provides 2 dedicated high current inputs, and also has a plethora of other switched inputs, satellite, phone, etc. Another nice feature is the voltage management and display, which makes it easy to see what kind of power is coming into it. My only complaint is that the black finish is quite thin and prone to scratching. Overall-A really good buy.
