Frequently, you get what you pay for is a hard and fast rule. But, ever so often a bargain comes around that makes one think twice. The Dolica WT-1003 monopod is one of those bargains. For around $12 the WT-1003 is a decent 67, 4 section monopod that holds approximately 7lbs. Is it a Gitzo or even a Manfrotto? No, of course not but it is relatively lightweight and will do the job for anything short of a 400 mm f 2.8 lens. Ive traveled around the world with one and somewhere in the Alps, my other WT-1003 resides after falling off my backpack.
Of note, it does not come with a ball head or quick release and for those who desire one, an additional purchase would be required.

So much easier to have the camera on the monopod than in my hand or around my neck! Works great in a bleacher environment. With the height adjusted where I want it, it allows you to quickly get the shot you want. Great for videoing too! Just turn the camera to follow the action -- while you watch the action with your own eyes! Super cushy hand grip and solid locking extensions. Bottom rubber foot adjusts to give flat or pointed base. I got this on sale but would be a great value at its normally discounted price! No reason to pay more -- this is quality!
