These Sanus stands have had a lot of play in our household recently. Weve used 5 sets, 2 at one house, 2 at another and the last at a third. Theyve rested on hardwood floors, thin carpet and heavily padded carpet. There have been small Energy Take Classics and large AR Satellite Surround 6s speakers. There have been front, surround and rear-surround locations.
In every instance these stands have performed perfectly. They are solidly built with heavily weighted bases, their wire channels will hold 16 ga wire easily, their connection accessories have worked well, and they look great, with the curve in the upper section of the vertical pieces and the teardrop shape of the base.

I bought these to mount the surrounds from my Energy RC-Micro home theater package. They were the perfect height for placing next to my couch. They passed the not too much of an eyesore for the wife test successfully managing the wires was a plus. They were compatible with my speakers, though I found it easier to mount them with the speakers upside down apparently not really an issue if you ensure the tweeters continue to be at the correct height. The only thing I would say is that these are definitely for smaller speakers. The plastic tightening ring didnt seem amazingly strong though the rest of the stand was _very_ sturdy and felt like it might not hold up to the task of holding up a heavy speaker.

These are a great pair of speaker stands. They are sturdy and truly universal. I had an older set of speakers with these stands and just upgraded and these worked with both pairs. They are easily assembled and work with both carpet and hardwood flooring. I would, and have, recommended these to my friends.
Pros
Works with carpet and hardwoodtile flooring.
Hides wiring.
Truly universal stands.
Easily assembled.
Easily upgradeable.
Cons
Hiding the speaker wire. This is the only con I can think of, the speaker wire can be hidden inside the speaker stands tubing, but it does take a few minutes of playing with it to get it to go through. It is easier with a smaller gauge of wiring though.

The stands are small yet hold the weight of my 4lb spkr. the wire is concelled nicely through a hole in the middle of the stand. easy mounting due to a variety of mounting choices for various types of small speakers. Sanus has put in alot of thought in how they want there prouducts to work for many different types of spkr. applications. I am using the stands for my rear spkrs. and am seriously thinking of purchasing another set for my fronts. Thanks Sanus for making my home theatre set up even more enjoyable!

These stands are heavy enough and tall enough for my setup. Mounting locations on my rear speakers did not easily align with these stands so I ended up screwing them on backwards, but it works for me. I didnt want to use the stick-em-on option. They blend in with the room just fine and saved me having to drill any holes in the wall for rear speakers.

I moved into a new place that made placement tricky for my Sony rear surround speakers. I knew I had to get a set of universal speaker stands and started searching for the best. these are PERFECT for my smaller [ less than 3 lbs. ] rear speakers. They came with about a half dozen different options for attaching the speakers to the stands, which was great to have the choices. it also is a hollow tube stand with a small oval-like hole towards the top so the speaker wire is virtually hidden, which makes it great looking aesthetically. putting the speaker stands together was super easy. They are also adjustable in height from approx. 2 feet to 3 feet high. [check description for specific numbers] I purchased these from Vanns through Amazon and the shipping was VERY quick. it was on the low-end of the estimated shipping. I did not expect them so quickly! Thanks! and I will definitely look at Vanns products in the future!!

These are the first speaker stands I tried, so I read the previous reviews carefully. As others have mentioned, assembly was surprisingly complicated, mostly due to the comprehensive styles of mounting hardware included. I do not usually read the instructions, but with these stands I had to.
Even with the wide variety of mounting hardware supplied there was nothing that worked with my Energy Take speakers. Standard one
Threading standard 16 gauge zip cord style speaker wires through the stands was difficult due to the narrow opening. Forget about using anything heavier unless you are willing to run the wire externally.
Once assembled the stands are sturdy, attractive and easy to adjust. Construction is more than adequate for my tiny Energy satellites. The 4 pound rating seems pretty accurate.
I was a bit disappointed that, due to the difficulty of running the wires and the tight spacing around the mount, I could not use pin type plugs that I had been using to make the speaker connection. Too likely to short out. Stripped and twisted worked fine though. Also, I will not be disconnecting at the speaker end if want to re-route the wires. Not when the other end has banana plugs

First thing I noticed when I opened the box was how heavy the stand bases were. They are made from cast iron and I knew they would provide decent stability for my surround speakers.
Assembly was quick and fairly easy. Plenty of adapters are included to mount a variety of speaker styles. Only con I found was the hole for running the speaker wire up through the stand is way too small for my 14 ga. wire. I ended up just using black zip ties to attach the wire to the outside of the stand.
The stands are fairly stable even on my thickly padded carpet, however keep in mind that these stands are for small speakers only. Overall, I was pleased with the stands and definitely recommend them.

The stands I ordered are exactly as described. They have a very heavy, solid base that keeps them securely in place and I dont have to worry about them getting knocked over. The entire stand from the base to the poles are constructed of heavy, solid steel, and all of the pieces screw together very easily. The set comes with very easy instructions for anybody to be able to understand. You are able to run the wires through the stand posts which keeps the look very clean! My wife and I are very happy with our purchase and feel we have a more clean and well put together entertainment system because of it.

These stands were easy to assemble, very sturdy, many optional parts to adapt to almost any speaker. Base is heavy that the carpet spikes make it very stable on carpet. What a deal at the price Vanns offers. Another major electronics retailer doesnt carry this brand and model in their stores so I had to order online anyway....so why pay more than what Vanns offers. They shipped fast....so fast I was shocked the day they arrived. This is my fourth purchase from Vanns, including a 52 HDTV and I have never had the first problem or disappointment. I wish all retailers could be as efficient and carry so many quality products worth purchasing.

The stands come with several options for mounting the speakers. My speakers from the Samsung home theater 5.1 ony have a screw slot near the top on the back. Getting the supplied hardware to fit in the slot and then fasten to the mounting L plate was not easy but can be done. This leaves the top of the mounting plate visible behind the speaker.
None of the other options would work with these speakers.
Disregarding the lack of esthetics, and some difficulty with mounting, the stands are fine and functional.
