Plug and play saves the day

The best thing about plug and play is that it's true: plug in your device and it's ready to go. With the UP-A1, after docking your iPod or iPhone and pressing its playback button, the connected A/V receiver's selector will automatically switch to the appropriate channel and begin outputting the content of your device.

Uh, whatever. The point is, with Remote Interactive compatibility, you don't need a separate remote controller to control your connected iPhone or iPod. Onkyo's nifty RI feature lets you access system on/off, auto power on, direct change, and the sleep timer all from the comfort of your easy chair.

This dock works great with our Onkyo receiver CR-325. I got the dock for my husband as a birthday present and he loves it. The sound is fantastic! Every thing you need for connecting it is included and It was easy to hook up The price was great, better than at other web sites. Vanns customer service was very helpful in ensuring that I got the right dock for our receiver.

Up-A1 is a plug and play for your i-pod and compatible receiver. As long as you check the specs and confirm compatiblity, you will be happy with the unit. It is nice to be able to control the i-pod from across the room. However, I do not believe this convience is worth the full price. Picked mine up at Vanns for significant savings.

Purchased along with the Onkyo TX-NR609 receiver and wireless internet dongle. Ipod dock is plug and play. Ipod is controlled with receivers remote which is cool. On screen display and function is somewhat lacking, but serves the purpose. All in all...functional.

The Onkyo iPod dock is extremely easy to set up. Once plugged into your receiver, its ready to go. It also provides on-screen display through my Samsung LED, which make choosing music all that easier. Overall great product and I would definitely recommend. The price was the best at Vanns and delivery was extremely fast as always. Great product and excellent company.

I was able to easily hook up the Onkyo Ipodphone dock to my Okyo receiver and my daughter and roommate can now listen to their favorite music off their ipods. I have not played a ipod yet, but I understand it should work like a charm.

When I ordered the Onkyo 7.1 home theatre system the UP-A1 I-pod dock was missing. Bekah, a customer service supervisor was extremely helpful when I called about it. She called me back several times over the next few days to keep me updated on whether the dock would be sent directly from Onkyo, or from Vanns. Vanns was out of stock at that time but had some due any day. Once received into stock it went out immediately and I got the note from the automated system as well as one directly from Bekah.

The dock itself is really handy of course, and much more conveneient than using a typical audio cord to the I-pod. But the service made me a real fan!

Thanks for keeping up with the little things...they really do make me want to stick as a customer!

This device never did work. It claims to work with all iPhones. This device did not work with any of 4 iPhones tried. I got my money back, so no harm, but the product is worthless. This does not reflect on the Onkyo receivers --I have installed over 50 of them without any troubles.

I am a Firefighter Paramedic in Illinois and bought this product for are gym at the Firehouse. The product works great and was easy to set up. We have used a variety of iPod and iPhones with the product and there have been no issues. The best part was the product arrived a week sooner than avertised!

I should have bought this dock when I bought the onkyo surround sound receiver. This is the neatest thing to play your i pod on. With the tv on you can see all the functions of your i pod on your big screen tv all controlled with the remote for the receiver. All very easy to use. You never have to touch the i pod once its in the dock.

It connects easy and works great to play music from an Ipod. Although, it does not seem to provide an onsceen display on the TV, which is very disopointing.
Videos can be played from and Ipod, but the quality is poor.

Plug it in and it performs without a hitch. Very simple. My receivers remote now controls the iPhone from across the room, very handy. The sound quality is great. My only complaint is that even though Vanns offered the best deal by far, it was still a bit pricey. This dock works flawlessly with my TX-SR508 receiver. I can use the receivers remote to control the iPod with or without OSD on TV, and iPod gets charged the same time. It works better than receivers from other brands that only provide a USB or mini-phone jack. Looks nice next to the receiver. The only thing I would like to see is showing the album artwork on TV, instead of a plain list of albums, artists etc. I bought an open-box item which looks and works like new, so I think it is a good value.

Onkyo did it again creating this adaptable Ipod dock exclusively for Onkyo receivers. Great idea and a nice surprise for my Ipod. The sound is great and it is small and compact which makes it very appealing. The ease of use is great. I definately recommend this little divice for music enthusiasts.

This ipod phone dock is great. Didnt even have to read directions to hook it up. Plugged it into the receiver, placed my ipod on the dock and instantly had music. Once I finally read the directions to see if thats all there was to it, I discovered that you can display your music library on the tv and use the onkyo remote to scroll throuh and choose songs to play. The size is great because it is so small and can fit on shelf right next to receiver. Price was great too.

While the dock work mostly as advertized, I have noted a few problems. Occasionally, the ipod will lock up forcing me to undock it and restart it. This has only happened once but it was aggravating. Also, if you had a certain song or album playing, the dock does not go that that item. Instead it starts at the main menu. The biggest gripe though is about the GUI. This is not a problem if you have a small amount of music on your iPod. However, I have around 29,000 songs and 1400 artists. Scrolling through the artists takes a huge amount of time. I am almost ready to go back to the cables and hook it up via the AUX connections because of this problem.
