How it works

Samsung's 3D technology uses the same principles upon which human sight is based to achieve a 3D effect in the home theater. By themselves, each human eye sees only two dimensions. However, because our eyes are set slightly apart, each sees an object or scene from a slightly different angle. And when the brain processes the images seen by each eye into a single image, we are able to perceive depth in what we are seeing. Add depth to the height and width (2D) seen by each single eye, and ta-da: 3D! For its part, a Samsung 3D HDTV actually shows two different versions of a movie on the screen at the same time (alternating frames from each at extremely high speeds). What makes the two versions different is that they were filmed from slightly different angles. Now, 3D Active Glasses communicate wirelessly with the 3D HDTV. Using special liquid-crystal lenses, the 3D glasses alternately block out the left or right lens in coordination with the frames flashing on-screen. Accordingly, the right eye sees only the "version" of the movie intended for the right eye, and the left eye only sees its version. Just as with normal human sight, the brain combines the two versions into one, and voilà, you see 3D.

I GOT THIS FOR $107 BECAUSE IT WAS A CUSTOMER RETURN. IT WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION. IT HAS ALL FIVE MOVIES INCLUDED, I THINK IT SAYS YOU HAVE TO MAIL IN FOR TWO OF THEM SO I WAS SURPRISED TO GET THEM ALL IN THE PACKAGE. BETWEEN THE MOVIES AND GLASSES YOU CANT BEAT THIS DEAL AND THE MOVIES LOOK GREAT.

These glasses work great and the 3D movies are awesome. This is a great deal when you get it in a bundle with the Blu Ray player and the Samsung TV PN59D8000. This combination makes watching 3D movies in my home better than they are at the theater. You cant find a better deal on this bundle anywhere.

Samsungs starter kit was everything I expected. Glasses worked perfectly. The 3d movies were a great bonus. I have been waiting for the un60d8000 tv for about 7 months and I am pleased I waited. Have nothing bad to say about this product. I rate this product a 5 out of 5.

A must have for any SAMSUNG 3D TV, since the TVs do not include the 3D glasses this kit is a great way to get started to enjoy the 3D experience.

This 3D bundle comes with two 3D active-shutter glasses that are to be used with the 2011 Samsung 3D TV models. The 3D movies include the entire Shrek series of movies in 3D and Megamind. But youll have to submit an online rebate form for Shrek 4 in 3D and Megamind. I did mine the week I got the bundle and it said it would take 8-10 weeks but I received a confirmation a week later that they sent out the bundle. So it really is only going to take 2.5 weeks to receive my additional discs. I purchase the Samsung PN59D8000 and this bundle was included with my purchase. I might even buy another bundle just to have a few glasses around the house for when guests come over but for right now my wife and I are the only ones that really need a pair of glasses. These glasses use a single CR2025 lithium-ion battery and syncs via Bluetooth. No cords or recharging is required after use but having a few extra batteries on hand for when youre watching 3D TV, movies or games probably wont be a bad idea. If it didn't need batteries Id say these glasses would be a perfect value. These glasses fit nicely on all types of faces and they don't look too ridiculous. If you wear glasses they will easily sit on top of your glasses and not cause you any discomfort. I would not recommend use of these glasses on young children or if you're susceptible to getting dizzy watching 3D content. Watching Shrek movies in 3D at home is just as good as seeing it in the theater and its really cool to see good quality 3D at home. If you have DirecTV you can catch 3D sports like the NBA playoffs, and a few 3D documentary programs. Sports in 3D looks pretty cool but foreground objects on certain camera angles can make you a bit dizzying if you are sensitive to 3D content. I would also recommend setting your TV to movie mode bumps up the brightness or adjusting your screen to a brighter setting as using these glasses cut the image brightness down by about 14 to 13. If you are a gamer you can also enjoy 3D content on your Samsung 3D TV with these glasses by enabling 3D mode. Its supported in games like Call of Duty 4 Black Ops. It does truly make you feel like you're in the game and allows you to get far more depth perception but it will probably take some getting used to. I don't get dizzy from watching 3D or playing games but when playing games in 3D it can make me a little queezy after a several matches of online play. But its a fun and novel thing to play with once and awhile. Overall, if you are ordering or have ordered a Samsung 3D TV and it doesn't come with this bundle you should consider purchasing this bundle. The movies included are great and you can enjoy them just like you would in the theaters. Its a great value and leaves you with the option of watching 3D content on your supported TV. 3D may just be a fad or it may not, either way you should enjoy it today and not wait until tomorrow to see what happens.

These 5 movies are amazing in 3D and the glasses dont seem too bulky. The only bad thing about them is they have a watch battery in them that is supposed to only last about 70 hours. I have another pair that are rechargeable and they are much better when it comes to not needing batteries. The bluetooth connection to the TV is also a lot nicer than the old IR connection of the older models. Simply turn them on and they sync with the TV no matter where you are at in the room. For the value this is a great 3D starter kit!

The new 2011 blue tooth glasses work great ! they never have droped the signal like i have read that the older type did.. that is a big plus for me.. plus you get 5 movies.. so the price really is not to bad once you take into account for what you get..the only way to get these movies is to buy the starter kit.. the 3D this year on the 2011 TVs and these new glasses is just great.. I love watching 3D !!!!!
