Simply attach the Sony BRAVIA DVX-DVD module to the back of your Sony BRAVIA HDTV and, voilà, you have an HDTV with an integrated DVD player. The single-disc DMX-DVD connects to your BRAVIA HDTV with the built-in HDMI output and included HDMI cable and offers playback of a variety of audio and video formats, including DVD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, and JPEG. Use either your Sony BRAVIA HDTV's remote or the included remote for easy operation.

Upgrade your DVD

Thanks to its DVD video upscaling to 1080p, the BRAVIA DMX-DVD serves up better DVD video, times four. First, upscaling to 1080p gives your DVD video content's resolution a boost from 720 x 480 to 1920 x 1080 (or 1280 x 720 if you have a 720p HDTV), for a more detailed picture that is compatible with your BRAVIA HDTV's panel resolution. Second, upconversion from interlaced to progressive scanning delivers a smoother, more fluid motion image, especially during fast-action scenes. Third, because the DMX-DVD's video scaler performs the video upscaling before the video signal runs along the HDMI cable to your HDTV (where it would have another opportunity to be upconverted by the HDTV's scaler), the video image you ultimately see is free of any transmission-based quality loss, meaning you enjoy a clearer, more detailed DVD video image. Finally, because the upconversion passes via HDMI, you are able to send upscaled, 1080p DVD video to your HDTV with a single cable.
